We rented a group site and had an excellent experience. This campground is close to many recreational opportunities in the Moab area. Quiet and clean facility.

The group site worked great for our scout troop

The BLM has upgraded the group campsite with a few designated tent spots with tie down locations. It was nice to see because the wind was so bad I thought my tent was going to fly away with me in it.

Excellent for groups. Cool, quiet, protected.

Awesome site. They had a huge covering for the cooking and eating space. was very nice especially when it was raining. Obviously being so high up there was a lot of wind and our tent stakes didn’t stay in very well into the soft ground from being previously rained on. Very clean bathrooms, would camp here again!

Stayed at Horsethief for almost a week with a large group in Mid-march. Here are a few helpful tidbits about the group campsites and location. Road was easily drive-able despite epic rain. Parking areas for group sites easily fit our two 12-passenger vans with small cargo trailers. The area is almost 2000' higher elevation than Moab, and very wind exposed. It was noticeably colder here than in town. If you had a lightning storm, the campsite is very exposed on top of a high plateau with no major trees. Bathrooms were well kept. Rain and sun pavilion was great. Direct access to mountain bike trails from the campground.

Group site C was the perfect staging area for a 4-day multi-family ride on the White Rim Trail. The site was tidy and spacious, the restroom was clean, and the views were amazing. We will be back.

The host was extremely helpful in helping our large group feel accommodated despite some booking confusions!

The site was large, bathrooms clean and the view was beautiful. We managed three tents but the downside was that it was at the top of a mesa and it was scorching hot. We expected hot but we were not prepared for the wind gusts that kept collapsing our tent. I'd say this is better suited for a couple of RV's in a group.

We hit Horsethief after doing three days on the White Rim Road. It was the perfect place to wrap up our adventure. The group sites were perfect for accommodating all of our vehicles and gear.

Love the open level area for parking. Over all cleanliness of the area and restrooms. Great views!

We had just completed three days on the White Rim Road and Horsethief was the perfect location to wrap up our drive. We were eight vehicles and two trailers and we fit comfortably in our spots.

We spent 2 nights at the camp site in mid-May and it was great. The toilets were clean and well stocked. This was a great spot from which to access Arches, Canyonlands and Dead horse point.
@ScottS615 · Camped on Oct 20, 2021 at Campsite #C
A very nice campsite but seemed a little small for a group site.
@MichaelM321 · Camped on Oct 1, 2021 at Campsite #A
Lots of space for campers and tents. Excellent access to trails right from camp.
@DennisC621 · Camped on Sep 27, 2021 at Campsite #D
Awesome Group Sites. Super close to Islands in the sky and Deadhorse. Also close to hiking, biking, and 4x4 trails. Clean, including pit toilets which are kept in good condition.

This group campsite fit our needs perfectly! The facilities are new and comfortable, and the outhouses were the cleanest I have ever seen. The location was also convenient for doing things all around the Moab area, while the elevation gain (the campground is at approximately 5800 feet) was sufficient to provide cooler nighttime temperatures during our midsummer stay, and to provide some green vegetation to add to the scenery. The description of the site said there was not room for a utility trailer in our site, but in reality there was PLENTY of room for our large utility trailer, along with our 6 cars and trucks.
@MarkB524 · Camped on Jun 16, 2021 at Campsite #D
This was exactly as advertised. The dirt road to the site might be a half mile. The pavilion is a good size. There was enough room for a few trailers and trucks. It was clean. The vault toilet could have been a bit cleaner but it didn't smell too bad.
@WesleyS352 · Camped on Jun 9, 2021 at Campsite #B
We arrived to the site just before sunset, which was AMAZING across the Mesa. We then got up and drive the short (8 miles) route to Dead Horse Point State Park to veiw the equally amazing sunrise. The campground bathrooms (although pit toilets) were clean and the site was clean and in good shape, with a shelter over the picnic tables, a fire ring, and several good tent sites per group site. We were visited by a wood rat, so guests should make sure to store food properly. Nice campground with plenty of space for a group with easy access to DHP Sate Park and Islands in the Sky (Canyonlands NP). Also not *too* far away are Moab Giants (a dinosaur themed kitchy touristy place, fun for dinosaur-loving kids), Arches NP, and Moab.

nice campground, clean bathrooms.
@StephanieE928 · Camped on Apr 18, 2021 at Campsite #C
I love this campground. Be wary of when the wind picks up though as it's tough to stake your tent into the rocky ground.
@KimberleyF527 · Camped on Apr 14, 2021 at Campsite #E
Great location, quiet (not many ATVs thank goodness). Good for folks who want to hear nature and not motors. Really nice camp hosts. Close to mountain bike trail.s
@AmandaB165 · Camped on Apr 7, 2021 at Campsite #A
We had a group site and loved it! Gorgeous views, clean restrooms (no running water). We were excited by the mountain lion tracks all around our site but never saw one. The campsite was remote and it took us a little time to find firewood and food (drove to Moab after setting up camp). Great location between Arches, Canyonlands, and Moab. Saw a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Can't wait to go back!
@AnthonyF984 · Camped on Mar 23, 2021 at Campsite #C
Our site was taken by someone when we arrived (their stuff was there but they were not) so we paid $600 for hotel rooms.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
