Very nice camp spot next to the river. The campgrounds in general were clean. I definitely would camp there again.

Perfect for a day trip to Crater Lake or just hiking around the many waterfalls in the area!

The first night was lovely, site A9 with a path to a secluded spot by the river. Very quiet and relaxing. We moved to site A3, which is a very nice site for the remainder of our stay which was cut short due to a fire nearby and smoke infiltration. I would stay again, but perhaps earlier in the year to avoid prime fire season.

the place was beautiful but it would have been great to have potable water

We had a blast visiting hot springs and waterfalls! Definitely want to come explore in the area some more! We just camped for 1 night as we needed somewhere to get some rest on our way home. All we needed was a quiet site and a clean restroom. Our site was quiet, but the restroom could use some work. There was no toilet paper when my son and I went to use it. Luckily I had my own so I went back to camp to grab it. So just be prepared to bring your own. The bathroom also did not seem very sanitary and it was full of bugs. I know this is normal but it was a LOT of bugs. overall its a great campsite! Lots of families, everyone was quiet and respectful, and the location is nice. :) Id recommend it to someone in the future!

A bit out of the way from our crater lake visit. Smallish campground along a small river. Visit to the hot springs is cool, go early before there's too many people, no one was nude when we were there. Water is hot.

Beautiful area with so much to explore! We stayed 5 days and honestly didn't want to leave. Campground is quiet, bathrooms were not well maintained but probably better than every other restroom in the area. Toketee Lake is beautiful and refreshing to take a quick dip in on the hot days. If you stay here make sure you check out the Umpqua hot springs and Toketee falls! Bring plenty of water as this is a dry campground and make sure you bring some big spray.

There was a full campground but the bathrooms were dirty and did not have any toilet paper.
@EleanaC618ABB8 · Camped on Jun 14, 2024 at Campsite #A4
Very easy to navigate. The site are a little close together, but plenty of tree coverage to make it feel more isolated. Not many bugs when I was there. Great access to the natural hot springs and smaller waterfall hikes.

This is the kind of campground you think of when going into the wilderness. We did have to drive the wrong way to be able to park our 20 foot trailer in our spot. Easy access to all sorts of waterfalls and hikes!

I love this campground. Nice trees, and nice sized campsites, close to toketee falls, umpqua hot springs and Watson falls. When we went there wasnt any tp in the bathrooms.
@SandraW9233062 · Camped on May 26, 2024 at Campsite #A1
No TP in dirty bathrooms

What a wonderful spot! We were right on the creek and loving the sounds of rushing water. Plenty of space for both of our tents and 10 mins from the hot springs! Our family really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this campground to others looking for a peaceful get away with fun things nearby!

we love tokatee campground and have been going every summer for years. we have seen the condition of the campground decline over the years. the campground has some of the most disgusting bathrooms i have ever seen in a camp bathroom. we saw evidence of people using the bathroom in open nature..ie piles of Toilet paper in wooded areas. this campground desperately needs a camp host. it is such a heavily visited site, and almost always fully booked in the summer. we would not even mind if the price of the site was increased to accommodate a host. we love this campsite - it is one of our favorites, but we think it needs some close monitoring and some rehabilitation. i think we will take 1-2 summers off from visiting this campground. hopefully the condition of the campground can get some help and improve.

Nice site, but no water available. Next to lake and near a number of waterfalls that are awesome.
@EllenS9303532 · Camped on Aug 14, 2023 at Campsite #A9
Due to extreme heat and wildfires, we never got there.

Our time at Toketee was awesome! My family and I love it there... The only bummer is that I book multiple sites and I feel there should be a way to only have one $8.00 booking fee. I payed way too many!
@EmilyP4531880 · Camped on Aug 10, 2023 at Campsite #B7
I absolutely love camping here! The sites are spacious and private. The only two complaints that I had was that the fire pit desperately needed the ashes emptied and the restrooms were completely out of toilet paper on both Friday and Saturday. Other than those two things, the campground is amazing!
@AlexC6737302 · Camped on Aug 6, 2023 at Campsite #B2
Little noisy campground but so close to the hot springs for that very early morning dip. And close to some really awesome hikes. One downside is no running water access
@DavidK6336379 · Camped on Aug 1, 2023 at Campsite #A5
Great little campsite, directions could be a little bit better and marking on roads need to be updated but perfect for a couple nights plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the wilderness

Excellent camping trip. Loved the camp ground, enjoyed paddle boarding on the lake, and hiking to the water fall and hot springs.

We stayed in site A07. Its not accurately depicted on the map, but it backs up to A14 with ZERO privacy. Essentially this is a double spot. Thankfully we had nice, mellow neighbors for the nites we stayed. There is no camp host, which was problematic as mid week there were 2 large groups drinking and partying ALL night. They set off fireworks and yelled/screamed until 5 am. The pit toilets were the worst I've seen in a recreation.gov campground. Zero toilet paper for half the time we were there (thankfully we brought our own). The facilities were absolutely filthy with feces smeared on the men's room walls and used sanitary napkins stuck to the women's toilet lid. Someone needs to go pressure wash those pit toilet rooms, it was freaking sick. The only plus was the proximity to some beautiful recreation, 2 kid friendly waterfall hikes and a nice swimming hole. Otherwise this campground is best for adults for 1 or 2 nites. Super high traffic with people constantly driving around looking for spots. Several waterfront spots reserved with no one showing up the entire time(3 nites). I think this place is blown out from disrespectful visitors and little oversite from the rangers. Diamond Lake looks a lot nicer, we drove thru there on our day trip to Crater Lake. If I were to stay in this area again I would def book there instead.

We were in site B05 and could not fully enjoy the experience since there were off leash dogs (with no recall/voice control) in sites B06 and B01 so we could not leave our site and go left or right without struggling with off leash dogs. There was another dog in loop A that was fully browsing other campsites without any owner oversight. We only book campgrounds that require leashes and we keep encountering this. It's really frustrating for us that work really hard on training our dogs but one still fears dogs due to being attacked by off leash dogs. A few things to note about this campground -- the nearest good sized town with services is about an hour west in Roseburg; the bugs are terrible; there was no toilet paper in the restrooms; and the large campground is not hosted.

Clean, quiet, beautiful and completely relaxing. Hiked to the falls, went to the hot springs, walked a number of miles of the trail and did a little fishing. I've been going to Toketee for over 30 years, hardly changed at all in that time. The river was too cold to recreate in but the kids found a lot of other activities to fill their days. I'll be back!

Our site (A4) was so lovely right next to the river! Great access to the falls and the hot springs as well!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
