Loved Marsh Lake Campground. Very clean, beautiful views. Only complaint is the road to the campground.

Great! Clean campground and site, clean vault bathroom. Site 8 was very level for the RV and the spot for the tent was a level sand filled boxed in area. NO BUGS! Kids did water activities on the lake. Camps sites are mostly well spaced, the road just outside the camp grounds was not too busy... but it was about 16 miles of gravel road to get there, in the RV that meant 20MPH. But the road is wide and in pretty good shape. Plus the dumping station down the road was a plus. Highly recommended. If go back I also liked the looks of site #15.

Stunning location. Be prepared for quite the stretch of dirt road to get here. Enjoyed the site, but it can be a little difficult to access the water if you dont have a site directly by it.

We love marsh lake campground fishing was tough this year.Fellow campers need to learn to respect other neighbors by not overcrowding campsites and being more respectful in regards to noise and driving toys on campground roads over and over. Kills the peace and tranquility we've come to enjoy.

Beautiful scenic view! Love how the campground/site is right on the lake. I just wish the bathroom was a little closer to site 4, where we were though. The rain also was inconvenient, but you can't control that. Had a blast, will definitely go back.

Beautiful campground with clean drinking water, trash, and bathroom services. No service but you can drive a few miles back down if you need to get service. Lots of gorgeous hiking trails and fishing at the lake was awesome. Shout out to our awesome camp host Bill for helping us air up our tires so we could safely make it to town!

My Poor rating is driven by the USFS, and the constant ability to never, ever ensure the Buck and Fences around campgrounds are in good enough shape to keep the cattle out. I am not knocking the cattlemen here, I grew up in Eastern Idaho running cattle in the Targhee and Lemhi Forests. The USFS has the responsibility to keep the cows out. I spent as much time as the Camp Ground host carefully running the cattle out of our sight. Why pick up after our dogs when the USFS allows a Black Angus Cow to drop a 30 pound turd anywhere in the campground? Again the USFS's Fault. Fix the Damn Fences!

This was such a beautiful spot.Worth reserving for the sunrises you get to experience. There was a lot, of cow but, if ya got a shovel, you are able to take care of that problem. If not? You'll have to deal w it & maybe slip in it. Overall, my experience was lovely and enjoying every single second of it. I hope you do to!

The government needs to make funds available to repair the fencing around the campground. Herds of grazing cattle were constantly invading the campground. When we asked the camp host he told us that he was told there were no funds available to fix them.

Everything was great except for the fact we woke up 2 mornings with cattle in our campsite. It seems the USFS won't fix the fences that keep the cattle out of the campground. Poop everywhere. There are cattle guards, but the fences are on the ground and useless. The access road is really bad for pulling trailers in. It needs grading badly.

The only thing that caught us off guard was how cold it was at night. The weather app said it would be in the 50's at night and it really dipped down into the 30's. We got really cold at night.

The campground is not being maintained. Road full of ruts and water. Most trees have died with no replanting efforts. They riped out a usable dock and never replaced it. They marked this as a group site so they can overcharge yet only two trailers can barely squish in and its not level. (Should be a double site). Road going in is very rough. The camp host deserves the only star because he keeps the bathrooms very clean.

Great camp host and very nice location!

Directly Across from the lake. Nice fire pit/kitchen area. Was a little muddy due to the record breaking winter snow pack (not a big deal). Multiple good tent sites. Bathrooms and water were very close. Had three sites (E 13, E14, E15) with a Scout troop and it was a great 4 days / 3 nights.

Great Campground if you can make it there, the road getting there is horrible, so many pot holes.

The east side is better than the west side, more trees. It’s a nice campground because you get that high elevation experience without all the day trippers that you have on the other side of the slope. The camp does allow ATVs and there are quite a few that cruise the area, kicking up dust here and there. But overall it’s decent campground.

We love Marsh Lake though the road to get there is awful. The campground has really nice, well kept sites. The host this year was exceptional and we hope he comes back. The lake is beautiful and perfect for kayaks, canoes and small boats. The family of ducks and the resident bald eagle are so fun to watch. The night sky is perfect for star gazing as there are enough clearings to get a wide view. We have seen moose and deer in the area and enjoy the short drives around China Meadows. It is verrry quiet at night. Bring something to cut firewood as there is plenty available in the logged areas between Marsh Lake and China Meadows.

I’ve been going to marsh for 60 years and it’s my favorite lake in the Unitas. This time the fishing was slow but did catch a few worth keeping. The camp host, Bill was nice and helpful. Not many trees left due to the beetles but still a nice campground.

We love camping at Marsh Lake it's a beautiful lake. Just wish it hadn't rained the whole time.

The bathrooms were completely full and there were hundreds of flies as soon as you opened the door. Other then that the campgrounds were semi clean and the fishing was good

The water faucet on the west side isn’t working or is very slow but the one on the east side works great.

Awesome! Thank you! Best bathroom at a campground. Beautiful wild strawberries and lake.

Disappointed that there was no water at the campground and the road into the campground was in terrible shape this year. The camp host was great and the restroom facility was clean and stocked accordingly. With the price we paid per night, I would think some of those funds could be used for site improvements.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
