Clean and well kept area. Hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable. I even had a low tire and the host helped me by having an air compressor to use. Great place

Because the recreation.gov site doesnt have photos of the campsites, when we arrived on Friday we discovered our tent site was in a steep incline directly on the water (in November) with a strong, cool breeze coming in from the lake. We found an empty and suitable location elsewhere, and the campground administrators came by about that time. They told us how to switch sites through the recreation.gov administrative phone number and we did so with ease. My only suggestion would be either pictures of the sites or a topographical map showing slope. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience! This is why we camp in November in Texas!

We were in site 12. You can see the lake from that site. Pens were clean when we got there. Trails are dry. Lots of overgrown trails. More erosion with exposed roots on some trails. Map of trails is available on Face Book at Ebenezer Trail Maps under photos. I have been camping and riding there for 15 years. Creek crossing are nice. I don't go over the "Black Hole" any longer. We did go eat breakfast at The Stump which is about 4 miles on the other side of the dam. Their food is good. I love their hamburger and onion rings and their grits in the morning is fabulous. Staying at Ebenezer is always fun.

We love coming to Ebenezer! Great trails, great campsites with pens, bathrooms and showers close by campsites, lots of shade trees, a beautiful lake, great restaurants about 5 miles away with gas station that has a few grocery items!

Very nice campground for a great price! The horses and we had a comfortable stay, and a great weekend of riding on the shore and in the forest.

No camp host. Horse Pens had not been cleaned by previous campers.at site 4 and the whole area was trashed. No one came to empty manure trailer it was overflowing. It is a bad idea to have a manure trailer you have to lift a bucket in to. People can't lift that much that high, so they dumped it on the ground.

The grounds are beautiful, the property and facilities clean, with a family and equine perfect environment. Place feels magical. Thanks TX Parks - you are a blessing to this state.

Place was amazing, beautiful view, beach area with white sand (way better than Galveston), and a nice hiking trails. Also, the park employees were very friendly and helpful. We are a Christian club that loves camping. Our group size was of around 50 people including 26 youths ages from 10-15. We all had a great time! Everyone felt in love with the place. Very quiet and secluded with lots of pine trees. I definitely recommend this place.

Site #27 was nice and clean, spacious, and perfectly suited for camping. The restroom facilities were relatively close, and there was also a easy way to get down to the beach by the lake! Would definitely come back here to camp again!

Camp Host on site was a nice part of this camp ground. Camp sites are well groomed and widely spread out with nice large pens for horses that are filled with sand. There is beach access that is beautiful for watching the sunrise. The bathhouse needs to be torn down and replaced. Nice riding but trails are not marked.
@MelindaH406085 · Camped on Oct 12, 2023 at Campsite #11
The trails aren't marked. And the showers and bathrooms are never cleaned. They put water far away from horse stalls.

Excellent Park for horses. My horse has health problems. The sandy trails and beach were Great for her feet. My parking spot was Great. Caretakers were very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that there was No Warm Water for me to take a Shower. I tried 2 showers. Rhonda Dougherty.

We always enjoy our time at the park.
@TammyS9ED21FD2 · Camped on Sep 11, 2023 at Campsite #10
It was a very nice stay. The only suggestion is to please take care of the bathrooms better, the lights attracted millions of small bugs and they were inside the restrooms, toilets, etc. Really enjoyed my stay
@RaquelC4155038 · Camped on Jun 18, 2023 at Campsite #26
It was a beautiful place, went there from 6/16-6/18 rented space 26 and 27 for camping. I wish they would say that some spots aren't good for camping like spot 26. its in a slope and there isn't anywhere to set up a tent.
@JoanFD81167B24 · Camped on Jun 6, 2023 at Campsite #9
I enjoyed camping with my horse at the park. The camp hosts were all wonderful too. I shall return.
@JoyceD3139495 · Camped on May 26, 2023 at Campsite #9
The campground itself is very nice. You'll need at least a 100 ft water hose to reach the horse pens for site 10. The trails are not marked at all. In the summer months, they now rent the swim area out to non campers, so it's crowded and the parking area is full, so you have to walk to it instead of drive. Also, boats have taken over the beach where we ride our horses and usually swim them in the lake. It's still a nice place to go... especially in the cooler months.
@WeldonL23AA235 · Camped on May 26, 2023 at Campsite #5
Always a clean, well-kept equestrian park. Multiple trails for riding and a swim beach, make for an enjoyable weekend visit.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
