One of our favorite get aways. Lake water was way up this summer. Family atmosphere. Places to eat out in Somerville and Lyons, nice Brookshire Bros grocery in Somerville if needed

Enjoyed our stay at Lake Somerville. The space I was in and noticed other spots that trees need to be planted where trees have died at. I was disappointed that sewer was not available in the camping sites and wished they had level concrete pads for RV parking. There are trails to hike and just walking in the campground area was also nice. Looking forward in going back and exploring other camp ground areas around the lake. The camp host was great.

Nice place. Enjoyed our visits, sans the humidity. Camp hosts very friendly. Campsites were nice. Ours had some shade, which we picked. Big lake. Would go again.

Have been camping here for years. Very nice camping, sometimes the grass needs to be mowed more often.The bathrooms need to be repaired. Female side only has one working sink for about 4 yrs; the male side is very bad--toilets not working and showers need repaired. I would love to have wifi access available.

Gate attendants were friendly and helpful. The grass was cut while we were there which was nice. Didn't use the facilities but noticed the entry doors were missing. Somewhat of a privacy issue???. In Brenham Volare is a nice Italian restaurant for lunch or dinner. For first time visitors as with most COE parks the park entry signage is right at the entrance and can be easily overrun.

The staff is something else. 1. Wasn't at the gate. 2. Could not suggest a site for a 25' RV. 3. Didn't know that site 1-25 are TENT ONLY - was way rude that I didn't know how to make a reservation, and that YOU SHOULD NEVER ENTER the departure date. Yes I understand they are volunteer, but not helpful that's a new one for us. Then number 4: you need to do your reservation alone because I have an appointment with IT...you know, the people that.......,5 minutes later she was done explaining what IT does and I was done with my reservation and she told me that I will have to wait. Yes, right....I walked to my RV, settle in my seat and returned to the gate...while she was talking with IT, she checked me in. Not sure what to think...the park was nice.

Stayed over the weekend 4/12 thru 4/14 - park was clean, site was mostly level, spacious and had all the advertised amenities, wasnt overly crowded. I wasIn a RV so I cannot comment on the restrooms but heard they were clean. Lake water was cool and clear, not too many boaters and plenty of fish. Excellent value! Ive tagged it as one of my favorites and will stay here again in a heartbeat!

I can't say enough good things about the staff here, absolutely outstanding!Helen and Richard in particular, were amazing to deal with, super professional, helpful and awesome ambassadors for this place.Someone give these folks a raise!!!The lake is great, the views are wonderful, the area is pretty nice too.But the staff are the BEST!!!

The core of engineer park was beautiful. We backed up to the water. The site was level, there was no town to speak of. We had to drive 15 miles to go shopping, restaurants, and a car wash. Kind of an isolated RV park. The grounds were very clean and well-maintained. If we were back in the area again, we would still make our way to this very nice core of engineers park. The lake was beautiful and had several boats.

Site 20 is a beautiful campsite overlooking the lake, but beware that there is a large DEAD tree hanging over it!!!!
