Early March and we stayed at two sites. Both were a little close to next camper. Not much to do if you don't fish. Bathrooms are rough but functional. One host was fun and very helpful the other one was all business.Cell service was good.

Very nice stay. Sites were all clean. First weekend that they were open. Had some electrical issues with high and low voltage that my Power Watchdog handled. Power was only out for a few seconds. Large dog off leash near the worker's site. Bathroom near tent sites is falling apart, but another one is fairly close by.

Perfect location. Super camp hosts! Campground very clean and well kept. Shower facility adequate but could use an upgrade, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Park was very clean. The kids loved the sand beach next to the lake. Nice trial to walk. Not overcrowded.

Nice heavily shaded spot with ample room and extra parking across from it. Abundant wildlife with lots of deer. Great view of lake and nice boat ramp with courtesy dock.

If it is cold and you need to use the facilities be aware they are not heated. Grass areas are full of sandspurs. Your 4 legged kids won't like that. Various activities and eating places in both College Station and Brenham. Some restaurants and necessities in Somerville.

First visit to Yegua and Somerville Lake, loved the camp site setup with a lake view. Tree coverage was really nice, loved walking the lake in the morning. On my list of top 3 campsites to stay at.

While there are lovely views from this park, it lacks much and needs more funding. We came in after dark and there is no signage for the camping loops so we got lost and struggled turning around in the dark. There were ants, spiders and sticker burrs everywhere! The tent had bugs crawling all over it. I got several spider bites and our grandchild got ant bites. The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in days and ants and bugs were in the showers, sinks, and toilets. The playground is long gone and replaced with a few games. The trail has a broken bridge making hiking the loop in entirety impossible. There is no signage indicating this as well. The staff never picked up broken limbs, etc while we were there. Several people made fires during the burn ban and with lack of supervision they went unnoticed. This park has so much potential but not sure I can recommend for now...

A group I was with were camping about 25 miles from Yegua COE Park near Somerville Texas. Some of us wanted to see the park for future trips. I had stayed at Yegua and Rocky Creek several times. At the gate we were required to make a reservation (on line) in order to enter even though we all had lifetime passes. The person at the gate was very courteous but said it was for "security" reasons. (three old men could start a riot) I personally think it was for money reasons for the concessionaire. What ever the reason is it's a dumb idea.

Site 2 was level gravel and the electric and water were great! When leaving the park, the exit lane has the metal spikes that flatten tires if you try to enter the park through the exit lane. Unfortunately, when I exited in my motorhome through that metal spike lane, the metal spikes snagged my rock guard and did several hundred dollars of damage to the rock guard. I recommend that you make the camp host let you leave via the gated exit and only use the metal spiked exit in an emergency. (My tires were not damaged.)

Went camping in October and the weather was beautiful. Water wasn't too cold for swimming so the kids had a blast. My grandson rode his bike for the first time without his training wheels. The kids enjoyed the campground and doing activities outdoors. Campers here at this park are always friendly and very mindful of children playing and riding their bikes. We go back quite often and make new memories all the time. Great family vacation spot.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
