There's not a bad site in the whole campground. You can hear the river from anywhere, though some sites obviously have a better view of it. North Yuba Trail is excellent, trailhead not far from the campground.

Lovely river swimming.

A yearly destination for my family, relatives and friends. Usually a pleasant experience. This year though the camp host Stephanie made it a vey unpleasant time for some of the members of our group. For example: She had a small garden in one of the occupied sites and felt it was her right to come into it at any time. She also felt she had authority over the beach area( which she does not)and could regulate how many people were there. There are more examples, but suffice it to say her little bit of authority has gone to her head to the point of being rude,bossy and very unwelcoming

Great location. Fantastic host, Stefanie, keeping all in line and making spotless sites.

Beautiful campground next to the river. There were plenty of trees and level places for motor homes and tents. Very friendly and helpful camp host.

Amazing campsite. Camp host is always friendly. We come up every year and always have a great time. Campsites arent crowded, and are well spread apart.

I have always loved this campground. My complaint is how difficult it is to book my desired campsite online. I was ready to book exactly 6 months ahead at 7am. When I pressed the key it was already taken along with most of the other campsites we liked. I found out later that friends went up at the time I had tried to book and the campsite was available for them without a reservation. I wanted a double campsite when I was finally able to book 3 weeks later than we wanted and naturally it rained and most of the campsites were empty.Any suggestions on how to book a desired campsite at the desired dates?

Our site had beautiful views of the river. Space between the sites was a little tight but not bad overall. No cell service.

The North Fork of the Yuba was flowing full and the campgroud was mostly empty. The bathroom facilites were clean and everyone we met was nice. Steve and Cash Gillis are great hosts, they helped make our stay enjoyable. Our stay at Indian Valley Campground this year was one of the best we have had.

Small campground by the Yuba River. 16 sites total with water, no electric or dump station. The camp was clean including the 4 roomy vault toilets which were very clean in my opinion. The camp hosts were friendly. Unfortunately because of the huge snow and rain access was a bit limited to the river, but other campers said normally in June the river is much more accessible. We would go again, we stayed June 1-4.

In the past we have stayed at Cal-Ida simply because we could easily get a last minute spot there. I have always wanted to camp at Indian Valley but it is really hard to score a site there and now I understand why. It was awesome a totally different experience than Cal-Ida. It was full but the campers were very respectful and quiet. The host kept the bathrooms clean and stocked with TP. You could hear the river at night and it was pretty cool. Next year we will be trying real hard to score more spots at Indian Valley!

Beautiful site on the Yuba River, BUT unsafe! We went mountain biking for the day and came back to a cleaned out campsite.....everything in the bear locker was stolen. There is no onsite campground host so if you stay here, take everything with you that you don't want stolen( by humans not bears). Have been camping for over 50 years and Indian Valley is the only place this has happened.

The bathrooms were disgusting the last few times Iv been there. Decent area but wouldn’t really recommend

Lots of mosquitoes and the vault toilets smelled throughout the camp. Especially in the morning. The views were great and the river refreshing. The town of Downieville is cute and really nice folks.

2022 Camp hosts very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Close to river is a plus. But if you have toddlers you should pick a site number farther from the river. There is a steep bank a small child could tumble down at a few of the spots. Beautiful setting.

It was my first time there and we totally enjoyed the campgrounds and being near the water as well. Bathroom clean which is a big plus.

Campground was awesome except there was a strong sewer smell in the air. I assume from the bathrooms. It didn't stink in the bathroom but in our campsite it was bad. #13 We will be back but will try to camp away from toilets we have our own any way.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
