There was a gate that was locked and the spot there would be a key was broken. I was not able to access the campsite.

Teri and Jeff & their crew did an excellent job (as usual) during our visit to Whiteface Reservoir this June 2024. Campground is kept in great shape; very friendly hosts. Notified us when there was a threat of severe weather, and where to go for shelter in case bad weather happened.Will be coming back!

Spent three nights at Whiteface, It rained the all three days. So the last day it was sunny and beautiful so we decided to take our time getting packed up and on the road. We knew nobody was coming into this site until tomorrow. We were sitting at the picnic table when the camp host came by and yelled at us from the road. Telling us that checkout was 11 AM. This was about 2 PM. I told her I would pay for the extra time. She yelled back to stop in at the office on the way out. I paid 17 dollars for the 4 hours. I thought the host was extremely rude. She never bothered to actually have a conversation.

Hiking trails are impassable including the one that takes you from the campground to the office, roads are patched and in a state of disrepair, several trees are down that need to be cleaned up. The forest service should be helping to keep this beautiful campground and launch in shape. It has several visitors in a season despite not having a dump station or shower facilities. Obviously there are not enough resources to keep this maintained the way it used to be. Help is needed to staff this facility.

The site was great and very private. The water was a little distance away and there was no dump station available.

Bathrooms were clean, sites were spacious, and we all loved the beach. The camp hosts were also always willing to help with firewood or whatever we needed. Definitely be back.

It’s such a great place to stay! Nice and private sites but close enough to stay with friends. Lots to do with fun beaches to relax. Also, close to Aurora MN if you want to head into a quaint little town.

Beautiful site on the water. Would have given 5 stars but it needs maintenance. The power fluctuated badly during our stay. The pavement throughout the campground is crumbling and needs serious repair. No shower facilities. Should have at least one by the beach area.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. When I made the reservation there were no electric sites available, so I was planning to use our generator. When we checked in I was offered to upgrade to an electric site that was a "first come, first serve" site that was open. This was our second time at Whiteface and we'll definitely be back!

We booked a spot at Whiteface Reservoir Campground at the very last minute for Labor Day weekend- it was one of the few campgrounds with any spots left and we were relieved to get a spot at all! That said, we completely hit the jackpot. This campground is beautiful. We wound up staying in a first come, first serve site along the water and it was stunning. Our camp host, Dale, was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond- he brought us firewood at our site, and gathered dry branches and loaned us his lighter fluid when we struggled to get our fire going. The bathrooms were always so clean, and the campground was well taken care of. Our tips- 1- get your firewood somewhere else. We're relatively experienced at building fires and even with extra help, couldn't get this wood to burn. We picked up wood at a gas station nearby and had much better luck. 2- Definitely, definitely check out the first come first serve sites. They are so beautiful! 3- And be sure to meet the camp hosts- they're all so welcoming, helpful, and kind. We can't wait to come back next summer!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
