We really enjoyed our stay here. The restrooms with vault toilets were clean and there was always toilet paper. The site where we stayed was quite spacious and we had plenty of room for two tents. The walk to the lake took about 25 minutes. We would like to come back sometime.

JJ the camp host was nothing but accommodating and an great resource for fishing. We have been coming to Cherry Lake for the last 4 years and with a total of 9 trips this is one of the most amazing places to be.

A very pretty campground. We camped the 1st week of Sept and during the week had the campground almost to ourselves. Cherry Lake Rd is very steep and it is not recommended for trailers. Take the long way around and come up through Tuolumne city!!! No cell service on the road up or at the campground.

JJ (the site manager) and the site itself were great

Site 14 is massive, gets lots of sun. The walk down to the lake is a bit of a hike, we opted to drive to the boat slip.

An extremely underrated campground! Very quiet, super clean, and generous campsite spacing. We took Tuolumne up to Cherry Valley and it was super easy (comparatively to the other routes people mentioned). The nearby lake is quite rocky and was a bit difficult to navigate, but other than that the experience was amazing!

JJ, the ranger for the campground, is awesome. He gave us valuable information of the area and he was very friendly. The campsites were beautiful and the bathrooms were well maintained. The drive there is not for the faint of heart, but it definitely is worth it. JJ is truly living the dream.

This place was awesome. Plenty of tree coverage, a lake to swim, fish, and boat in, and the man overlooking the camp was really helpful. Had a map set up to show us exactly where we needed to go the next morning. Will definitely be going back.

It is a hidden gem surrounded by trees and Cherry lake nearby. The campground is clean and very well maintained. Clean dump toilets. Water is available but no hookups for campers. Camper spots are spacious (Some not horizontal ). Fire pits are available at each spot. The camp host is friendly and supporting.Note, no phone or internet services available.

We had a wonderful time here!! I've been camping every year at cherry lake since I was 8yrs old. I will continue the tradition with my children for years to come. It's always great time!! The camp host Jay Jay and camp dog Zeke are wonderful and so friendly. Jay Jay does a fantastic job there. See ya next year!!

Disappointed with restrooms located near smaller campsites. Also, the original booking turned out to be a campsite built on a rock pile with rock steps that were very high and steep. Even the camp host agreed no one likes to camp there. There should be images or explanations of the sites.

A gorgeous campground and friendly host. The only downfall is a very windy long drive to get there.

Cherry Valley was great! The camp host JJ and Campdog host "Zeke" were awesome! They were very hospitable and very attentive to the campers. JJ takes care of things right away. Getting there is not bad for a regular vehicle, but for longer trailers or Class A's I wouldn't recommend, the road winds downhill then winds uphill once you pass the powerplant all the while narrow. As far as camping it is next to the lake but it is about a 20 min steep walk but defininately worth it. We did camp in early May so we beat the rush of summer campers. We want to try to go back this season before summer ends. It's one of our favorite camping spots. Also, be advised : there's potable water, pit toilets and NO available showers.

Being a tourist, I had no idea that Cherry Valley is in the middle of freakin' nowhere. The roads are basically a once-upon-a-time paved logging road. Driving them at night is borderline dangerous. We cancelled our reservation after one night and never received a refunded for the remaining two nights. I'm sure Cherry Valley is good fishing and a great place for locals, but as a tourist looking for a site close the Yosemite - this ain't it!

I am a seasoned camper, and have visited many national parks. Yosemite is a crown jewel. However, same cannot be said of Cherry Hill Camping Site. The site is advertised as a "Yosemite Camping Site" on the official National Parks' booking site (recreation.gov), when in fact, it is 110 miles, or 3 hours away from Yosemite Valley. Imagine being booked into hotel in Phoenix, when you tried to book a hotel in Vegas? Disgusting. It ruined our entire weekend. Claiming this to be a Yosemite Camp Site, is nothing but a scam. Never go there.

Clean campground & bathrooms, beautiful scenery, balance of shade and sun at our large site. A perfect spot to spend the night after a long drive and before hitting the trailhead the next morning!

This is my favorite place. Quite, clean, a lot of space. Sleeping in a coniferous forest is a great pleasure. There is no water, but this is not a problem at all. Take it with you. A great time to learn how to use water rationally. Nature, fresh air, silence, lack of Internet - ideal conditions for relaxation. Lake is clear and a lot of fish. Thank you.
@JuliaW6297849 · Camped on Aug 3, 2023 at Campsite #17
This sprawling campground was beautiful! A quick (but steep) hike led to a lovely swimming hole at the lake. Only downsides were getting to the campground (one road is closed, making it a long trek from Yosemite) and no running water.
@DavidM9841724 · Camped on Jul 25, 2023 at Campsite #5
The road to Cherry Valley was closed due to road construction. I had my two young grand kids in the car already in Stanislaus National Forrest and had to scramble already late in the day to hustle for an open campsite. REFUNDS for Cherry Valley??

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
