Poorly run campground. Had a problem with our selected site and host could not help. Called help number and they could not change the site because our reservation already started. Had to pay for another site. Discovered all sites overrun by ants! Never again.

We had a great time other than the ant issue. All the sites seem to have problems with ants. We were told the Corp will not spray the ants .

We have found Modoc to be the best campground of all the other surrounding campgrounds. Hands down, it is the best.

Site # 12. Private pull through. Very unlevel. We were pretty high on one side to be level. Steep to water but accessible from the site for ages 8-50. We hung a rope on a tree and it was very helpful. Liked being on a cove, not a lot of boats passing through while we swam. Tons of trash left by others was disappointing. (we picked it up). Only real negative was the ants!!! They took over inside and out.

This was by far our worst experience at Modoc. We have always loved Modoc. The host was very rude. There was never anyone at the check in station. The washer and dryer were being used for personal use to the host and no campers were aloud to use them. They never had toilet paper in the restrooms and the handicaps bathroom was out of order the whole week. My 86 year old grandmother had to sink bath in the camper all week. We love Modoc but will not return while these host are there.

The staff are excellent! We were told before we arrived about an issue with our reservation site and were given a choice of a couple of back up sites. The one we chose was actually better than the original site and so we stayed there.

By far, one of our favorite locations within our typical driving range. We absolutely love this park and try to get in every summer.

Coming here for 45 years. Love the campsites and park. Over the years volunteers have been very inconsistent from one group to another. Some examples are check in time is 3:00. Some will let you check in early in site is vacant while others make you wait at the gate until 3:00 even if site wasnt occupied. I have parked on the side of the road at the beach area (across from boat ramp) like everyone else. For the first time in 40 years I was told I could not park there. Consistency is lacking.

There was no one at the gatehouse when we arrived. there was a notice to just go to our site and call a phone number to check in. after a few hours someone came to give us our parking pass, we told them we had a problem with our motorhome and would be leaving early. we were told to go on line and check our self out because they were short of help and no one would be there to check us out. I called recreation customer service and was told to drop our pass in the box when we left and someone would handle it. we left our pass in the drop box and left. after a few days I call customer service and was told we never checked out and they could not help, it was uo to the campground, we never heard from anyone again. We stay at alot of COE parks and this was our first time having this problem.

My site was waterfront and spacious for my 3 person tent. The staff was professional, courteous and very helpful. I left a day early and they called to make sure I hadnt intended to return.

Only disappointment was the showers in the bathhouse had very little pressure to take a shower

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
