We could not find our site. It was not on the map. I could not log onto the site to change it from the campground.

Overall the sand dunes were amazing and a ton of fun to camp and drive around on. The reason for 3 stars is the lack accurate information we got when calling to book and upon arrival. When booking I asked what it was like to get out onto the dunes and if a small trailer could make it to the campsite they recommended. I was told that it was a fairly direct drive and as long as I had a 4x4 vehicle it shouldn't be a problem, people do it all the time. The difference at Spinreel is there is one way in/out and it requires you to climb a sand ramp to get onto the dunes which is NOT trailer friendly. Without straps, a second tow vehicle, and a winch, we would not have made it to our campsite and back as it was suggested. Umpqua is a far more trailer friendly location. The other problem was the camp host was never around to properly check-in or ask questions. I had to use On-X to find my campsite because there was no one around to help. I went down there 5 separate times across the 2 days we were there to never find anyone at that spot. Being first timers it would have been nice to ask someone questions or get help with things we just weren't aware of.

Pulled into the lake lake late at night. Had a roof top tent so was easy to set up camp. Had a fire and went to bed. The lake had only a couple of campers on it, so it was nice and private. We stayed at the north beach campground. The wind though was terrible that night, obviously not the campground fault just Mother Nature. So ended up leaving early morning. But would definitely recommend going there and camping on the lake.

We stayed at site 60 at Spinreel sand camp. Lots of glass from bottles all over sand. Site has really degraded since we were there two years ago. Will definitely consider somewhere else next time booking on the coast.

There seemed to be an extremest political rally at this campground which seemed strange since it’s on public land and these people are generally against social programs.

Our most favorite place to camp. Miles and miles of sand to ride on and beach access. Very family friendly!

Great place to camp with friends and family. Nice to be able to wake up on the sand and go. Can’t wait to go back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
