The one thing to consider is this site has a view of the Cafe and Store, which was interesting to watch the comings and goings of everyone (off in the distance) but the lights they have at night were brightish, so that was the only bummer.

Beautiful full campground with lots of hot springs to enjoy

This is an amazing campground location next to the South Fork of the San Joaquin River and adjacent to the Mono Hot springs Resort. At the resort, there are cabins, a store, a restaurant, and spa services [because of the natural hot springs in the area].

Wonderful place to camp. The Camp Host Jennifer is the best.

Exploring all the natural hot springs was really fun. Crossing the river via the ropes was a bit challenging.... we crossed from the campgound in the morning okay, but then when we came back, the river level had raised and the crossing was a bit scary. I recommend going up over the bring if crossing in June - not sure if the water levels rise up and down the rest of the season.

This place was absolutely gorgeous. Everyone was so nice! The shop had everything you needed and then some & the showers were an amazing bonus. You can see the milky way from Old Pedro at night which was phenomenal. This was by far my favorite place to camp.

A beautiful place. Hiking, floating down the river, sitting in the hot springs - a great time. The camp host Jennifer is fantastic. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. And such a nice person.

What a wonderful campground. My site was surrounded by trees. We had a table and fireplace and it was a short walk to a beautiful river setting. Swimming for the brave (it was cold but i like that) with a hot spring just a short walk away. The camp host (Jennifer) was fantastic and very helpful and pointed out the locations of the many hot springs in the area. The park is Dog friendly (on leash). There is a restaurant (open for dinner only when i was there) that served Buffalo Short Ribs and Rib Eye as well as a load of other choices and great salads. There are many small lakes within walking distance. The area was saved from the Creek fire two years ago and is recovering well so there are areas near buy with burn. That gave much better views of the granite landscape (with a lot of surviving green trees) and a large number of small flowering plants everywhere. I did a lot of hiking and met a number of successful fisherman (i will keep the secret bate to my self). The road coming in is a duzzy. Best to drive in mid day! I came in at 3:00 pm and there was a team of work crews going out and i left at 4:00 am and the fisherman were coming in. Its one lane for a while with plenty of turnouts. A magnificent place to stay for those who can rough it a little.

Great location. Sketchy bathroom cleanliness.

We loved this campground! Beautiful setting, sites are spacious, and great proximity to hot springs, the river, and hiking. The nearby store run by the hot springs resort has everything you could possibly need for a camping weekend. After reading a lot of reviews about the Kaiser Pass Road, I was nervous to drive it. However, I found it was fun and had some amazing views. Many of the potholes have recently been filled.

Nice campsite. Only surprise was no water available. General store has a hose out front with a hose so no real problem. Quiet campsite with great access to the river.

Road is dangerous. Rough one way blind corners, few turn outs. Lots of mosquitos. Lakes are low due to drought.
@JohnK6536193 · Camped on May 27, 2022 at Campsite #11
We went there right after the campground reopened before the memorial day weekend. Camp sites are well spaced out and right next to the river. Restrooms are clean , well-stocked and didn't smell. The driving on the last 15 miles or so are not ideal. Road was full of potholes. You have to make room for oncoming cars to pass you or pass other cars when they make room for you on the narrow road. The hot springs were muddy and many people were there.

Driving to Mono, the road has pot holes and great views. Loved the lake.

We stayed in campsite #002 & had a good time. There is not much shade during the daytime but it was no issue for us since we were out hiking or enjoying the springs close by at that time. Beautiful granite boulders, wildflowers, & trees surround the campsite. Not too many bugs & wildlife seemed to keep their distance. There was ample space between our site & the other campsites that noise wasn't an issue. Keep in mind the bear boxes are not that big so you can't fit a large cooler chest inside. Fire rings are not very deep so keep an eye on your fires. We kept missing the camp hosts but we assume they were out maintaining the campgrounds as they are pretty clean. Vault toilets are what you'd expect, limited cleanliness but well stocked with toilet paper. As noted in the campsite description & other reviews, water spigot is located in front of the general store which isn't too far of a walk from the campsite so make sure to bring a bucket or other container to bring water to your campsite. Dumpsters are close by but you need to pack out your recyclables. Shower is available at the hot springs resort for a fee. We enjoyed our stay.

In spite of facility/infrastructure deficiencies, this is an incredible place to camp. The location along the river and near the hot springs cannot be beat.

I love Mono Hot Springs. It’s such a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of life. From the adventurous road that leads there to the River, lakes and hot springs that surround the area. Fun for the whole family and dogs too. We even had a bear visit our camp sight & sit on our picnic table to rummage. (ooops we left a tiny bag of trash out we had meant to toss that night but didn’t see it in the darkness.) I brought a friend for the 1st time and believe and her kid loved it, and the kid finally forgot about his device for a moment while there. Definitely plan on returning. Praying for rain so the River & lakes will flow & rise again. As it was surly visible in all the area lakes and floating down the River less smoothly.

Jennifer, the camp host, is endlessly helpful and supportive. She made us feel so welcome and helped us with all issues that came up. We had a wonderful time. Jennifer is simply the best camp host we have ever had and we camp often!

The host is amazing, super accommodating and helped up resolve a reservation mix-up. Campground is surprisingly chill considering how busy it is, campers very quiet and respectful.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
