The trees kept us cool and the views are great. The restrooms were clean but didnt seem to be cleaned daily.

Overall it was a good camp ground but this particular campsite sits on a slope, so with the living space made it kind of hard with 3 little kids- chairs flipping over, wobbly table. I would say this campsite had about 10 ft of solid flat ground so just beware of that, and bathroom that was right next to us, the mens were out of order so you have to walk over to the next one which was busy.

2nd visit to Trinity Lake. Campground is well maintained, clean and great access to the lake with a boat ramp and beach area. Most campsites we saw, including ours, are good size so you don't feel like you are camping right on top of your neighbor. We went during a record heat wave and the tall trees provided great shade. We brought a canopy, but didn't even use it. There is NO CELL SERVICE, which was fine by us to disconnect for a few days. There is service in Lewiston (15 minute drive), if needed. Rented a boat at the marina (10 minute drive) and had a great time. Our family and friends had a great time and enjoyed making memories together.Pro Tip - Bring a paper map of the area because your GPS might not work.

This is rough camping, though there is toilets and sinks. This was nearly impossible to find via Google. Crazy directions. No park representative avaliable on site. Site was not level and tough to set tent.on si

Perfect location. Had a great time despite the bathrooms that stopped working half way in.

Had a problem with the water but the camp host, Hausa, did an extremely great job to alleviate the problem. Weve been going there for 60 years and its a great place!

Great camping spot for all things Trinity Alps. Bathrooms with running water. Nice big sites.

Great time with friends and family and we had good water to drink this time. The weather was all over the place but pleasant overall. The water in the lake was rising everyday. Great time

Campground was well maintained, clean, and serene. Park Ranger and staff made rounds occasionally which was nice. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked (no showers fyi). Lots of material to make a campfire around the area. Beautiful and peaceful campground

The campground was very clean and the restrooms were stocked with TP and also very clean. The spot says 40’ max RV but it was a real struggle to get my 28’ travel trailer in. Just be aware of this when booking the site. Overall the site is well shaded and pretty level.

My friend that chose the site forgot that some lakes dry up in the summer and was very disappointed that his lakefront campsite wasn't so lakefront, but we all thoroughly enjoyed the view. I didn't use the bathrooms but I was told they were decently clean. The only downside was the water had a boil advisory.

Tannery is a beautiful campground where we have camped in the past. This July, we arrived to discover there is no potable (drinkable) water and there has not been any since May, following a positive coliform test. We were not informed of this prior to making the reservations. But notes taped in the bathrooms ask campers to "get the word out." Had we known, we would have camped elsewhere or brought our own water. I don't think it is the sole responsibility of campers to get the word out that there is no water in a campground. If we were warned, I apologize but we did not see it.

Quiet campground, lots of availability. Camp host came to check on us and see if we had questions that she gladly answered. Her son was a year younger than ours and they were quickly buddies. The lake is very low but still accessible and the stream was great for the kids to play in. Water needs to be boiled before usage so bring your own drinking water (we had plenty). They don't have showers and they do not have a dump station. (We found one at the marina on our way back towards Redding. Get the key at the shop for $15 before heading to the dump station).

It would be better if the middle (40's) loop had bear cabinets. The lake was very low this year. Nothing we can do about that except let less water out.

This is a beautiful campground as far as the space and trees are concerned. For those with boats I would recommend elsewhere as the lake is extremely low. We were able to drive off road down into the lake for water access so it wasn’t a big deal for us. The biggest issue was that the water from the faucets for use was non-potable due to a contaminated spring source. This was not mentioned on the website ahead of time. We were able to buy enough water for our two night stay in town but it would have been great to know that ahead of time. Love the spot but it has fallen on hard times.

We visited here in July, pulling a 33' trailer from Minnesota. Originally we had site 23 reserved, which claimed to accommodate up to 40'. The road is very tight and backing into the site was problematic. Thankfully the campground host, Hauva, magically appeared and offered to move us into another easier to maneuver campground space. Although the lake is lower than hoped for the area is filled with magnificent tree growth and scenic beauty. The bugs (compared to Minnesota) were quite manageable and we had several nice campfires amidst warm, temperate evenings. There is a pickup with wood for sale as you drive into Weaverville, easily the highest quality firewood we procured over our two months on the road. The History museum and the Joss House State historic park (the oldest Chinese temple in California) were real gems to be discovered during our visits to Weaverville. The Trinity Alps were magnificent and we look forward to returning soon. Take care Hauva, you are one of the many guardian angels we encountered during our 8000 mile trip! :-}

The campground itself was super nice. Sites looked to be well spaced and proximity to the lake was great. I didn't stay in site 61 though, the driveway had an awful grade to it. We ended up grabbing some first come first serve sites for the weekend instead that were flat with way more space.

Great camp site.

There was no warning about the Dixie fire. We couldn’t even make it to the camp site with all the smoke.

Beautiful campgrounds and quiet when we camped during the week. The bathrooms were especially clean and this was a comfort. The lake is super low unfortunately but we rented a boat and had a good time from the marina across the lake.

Great campsite! Very clean & well kept.
@JennT671 · Camped on Jul 26, 2021 at Campsite #71
Beautiful site with plenty of room for tents and guests. Nice view of the unfortunately low lake with a little bit of a steep hike down if you are willing to try. We would stay here again if it weren’t for the bees swarming especially when water is around I.e. washing dishes. The trip was cut a day short because our toddler was afraid of getting stung and was begging to leave. When we were packing to leave we had more bees surrounding us than before and we’re glad when we could get inside the vehicle and away from them.

This was an amazing primitive site. Quiet campsite with beautiful water sounds to fall asleep to.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
