This campsite was perfect for our large group. The views of the meadow were so beautiful and the campground was very quiet at night, along with having no phone service this was a great place to unplug. Shout out to the camp host, Tim, who was so friendly and incredibly helpful during our stay. He was also constantly cleaning the bathrooms and we found them to be pleasantly clean compared to any other campground weve been to. Tim gave us directions to hiking trails and fishing spots nearby, and our whole group had the best time. Well definitely be back!

Very private from neighboring sites and has a nice sunset view! . This campsite is quite large and pretty deep with two picnic tables and two firepits, could easily fit 3 family sized tents. A downside is there is really only parking for 1 vehicle, maybe two if small. Was pretty cold at night since the campground is at 7000 ft elevation. Beautiful area, however wildfire burn scar surrounds the grounds.

Tim, the campground host, was exceptional! He Helped us get set up and explained the area with excellent knowledge.

The main thing I like is there is a host very actively on duty. If people screw up, they hear from him. He's also very helpful with info like where to hike, etc. It didn't hurt that the sheriff cruised through a couple of times. The message was clear that if you wanna screw up/make noise/be unsafe, you'd better go elsewhere.

One of the best campgrounds we go during the summer time that, everywhere else is too hot. Its pretty much always cool at nights. And the host is a very nice person. And so informative. We always enjoy staying there.

The Camp Manager was wonderful. He assisted us with getting a Campfire Permit and was very helpful and attentive to us, while giving us the space we needed to camp and enjoy the atmosphere and environment. We will definitely be returning and recommending this Camp site to others.

I love this campsite. The host, Tim, is super nice. The only gripe I had was he informed me a CAMPFIRE PERMIT is needed which was pretty annoying since I had to drive somewhere to get WiFi - take the test (its free) and get my permit. It would be very useful to have that posted somewhere in the booking instructions so we get it BEFORE getting there. Other than that it was great.

Nice forest service campground. Not many amenities but clean and comfortable. Helpful host

Campsites have nowhere to store food to avoid bears. I don't know why there were huge green flies everywhere that bite horror! There were too many. The place is clean and the host does a great job! but these details made it difficult to be

Great location for group camping! Perfect for our youth group of 25. A little bit of a drive to get to the river, lake, hikes, etc. but the benefit is that it adds to the seclusion. Nice and cool up at 7000 ft vs down in the river valley or by the lake. Nice camp host helped us get going our first day, otherwise not much as far as services or support. Would stay there again.

Our group stayed across 3 campsites in early June. Campsites 12,13, and 14. OverallThe host (Tim) was great, very nice and accommodating. Firewood was available for sale (we didn't buy any). Plenty of downed wood in the area for collection. Bathrooms are pretty well kept and not smelly. They had TP stocked. Water spigots were readily available throughout the campground.We were next to a loud group and the first night they had music and loud talking till about midnight. The host reinforced the quiet time hours with them and we didn't have any other problems.Directions/TravelDepending on which map you use, it may show the road as closed. We found it difficult to find information on the road closures/conditions. As of June 2024, you can access the campground from either direction. Even though there were "road closed" signs up, it was indeed open. We recommend avoiding the 190 route if you canit's in very bad shape and there is still lots of construction happening.ActivitiesDome rock is great for stargazing. You can drive all the way to the rock and it's a short walk to the top. There are a few trails near the campsite. Trail of 100 giants is about 25-30 minutes away and definitely worth a visit. There are multiple parking lots so if one is full, drive down the road a bit to the next one. We paid $12 for parking. WeatherIt can get a little hot during the day, but there are lots of shady pockets throughout the campground. With the breeze, it was very comfortable. At night it does get pretty cold, recommend using a low-temp rated sleeping bag.CampsitesCampsite 12 - Great spot. Very large with enough room for 3 large tents. Proximity to bathrooms and water but no smells. Main downside is that the fire pit and folding grill are in pretty bad shape. Campsite 13 - Would not recommend. No shade during the day and only room for one tent on a slight slopeCampsite 14 - Pretty nice, good room for tents and some shade during the day.

Site 10 was secluded by bushes but did not have much shade from trees. The trash can was 1 site away and the vault toilet was 4 sites away. Bring your own hand soap. The camp hosts were away the three days we were there so there was no firewood available. It seems that with the campsite management taken over by vendors there is somewhat to be desired with information and help.

Quaking Aspen is a spectacular campground. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend with a full campground, and it was remarkably quiet. All campers respected others, and maintained a very quite evening and night. The campground is well maintained, with cleaned toilets with toilet paper. The camp host Tim was friendly and very helpful. He does a great job and maintaining this campground and making it a very pleasant place to spend a long weekend. The area is full of hiking trails of all levels and lengths with magnificent views all around.

Tim, the camp host was great! He came to meet us at our site and gave us an update on the site, wildlife, and parking. The sites were clean, orderly and the facility was well kept! The only recommendation I would have for the listings for each site is to specify which sites have bear lockers and which do not.

Never have I ever met a better Camp Host in 50 years of camping. Excellent in every way, directions, firewood, clean bathrooms.. and when we heard he did it all alone up to 250 campers at once I say give him a raise and Keep Him!

One of the best non-dispersed camp grounds I've been to. Great location, high enough to be away from the heat, and towering trees around your spot. Also has a manager to help you out and ensure your campsite is saved for your reservation. Campsite #1 is a really nice one but be warned it's by the bathrooms if that bothers you.

The campground host - Tim - was great! He was super friendly and helpful. We were a group of scouts and dads. The site we had reserved was a bit small and he made it possible for us to move to larger, adjacent group site. He was very supportive and encouraging of our efforts to form the scouts in scouting skills, being an Eagle Scout himself. It's always a big plus when the campground host is a fan of scouting and we know he's supporting what we're doing, introducing the boys to camping and the great outdoors.

Quaking Aspen was a beautiful camp ground and staying in a yurt were perfect for my group of five. The camp ranger was helpful and welcoming and he gave great suggestions for hikes and activities around the area. I would 100% recommend Quaking Aspen to anyone who wants to camp in sequoia!

It was a beautiful campsite. I completely fell in love with it but just come prepared that you wont reach signal here. The closest gas station is an hour away from the site so prepare for that too. Other than that it was great. Clean bathrooms, nice spots and an amazing gentleman that works there made it so easy to get situated. He helped me with questions about the reservation as well as delivering firewood straight to my campsite in the morning. He was super nice and helpful with the rules and any other questions we had.

Love this place. Wife and I stayed here for four nights in late September. The nights were a bit chilly but bearable. Close to several attractions including the Trail of 100 Giants. But the biggest attraction for us was the peace and quiet. There are group sites here as well as yurts and even a cabin to rent. Camp host was friendly and efficient and the facilities were clean and well maintained.

Amazing campsite! Bring all your food/ snacks! Only a very limited gift shop a couple miles away. No gas or groceries for about an hour down the mountain. Wood and Ice for sale with the camp host. Bathrooms were very clean!! Will definitely be back!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
