NOTE: This review is for Site 7. We originally booked site 11 which is very beautiful and secluded but there was no place flat for our tent except the parking spot. The helpful and friendly host, Darren, told us that spot 7 was available as someone had cancelled last minute, so we move there and it was ideal in every way! The babbling brook, the spacious and secluded area, were charming. The campground is ideally situated for the Trail of 100 Giants which is a lovely walk and dog friendly!

Loved staying at redwood meadow! The view of the stars was great. Campsite was large and clean. The camp host was friendly and provided recommendations for nearby hikes. I would definitely come back.

Lovely campsite with super friendly helpful hosts. Short walk to see the giant Sequoias. These trees look like they belong in prehistoric times.

Easy walking access to the Trail of 100 Giants made this a wonderful stay.

Stayed for only 2 of 3 planned nights. Yurts were as expected, basic but the squeaky bed frames kept people awake.Facilities were very poor. Only water available was to buy bottles (water supply has not been functional for 2 years and seemingly no interest in fixing it). Toilets were filthy, fully of flies and I doubt ever cleaned. No toilet paper either.Never saw the camp host for the entire time and the shop is open until 3pm only, so when we missed that the first evening, we had to wait until 10am the following morning to get water.The trail of 100 giants was lovely and saved this rating, but I would not ever return due to the poor camp site conditions.

Our campsite #8 was beautiful for tent camping but also would be large enough to park a small RV. We love the Trail of 100 Giants, just across the road. We met the campground host, Darren, Sunday evening upon arrival, who seemed very nice, but he was gone Mon and Tue for his two days off. Mercedes in the gift/supply shop was very nice and helpful with a couple of purchases. On the negative side, the pit toilets stunk and were full of flies, with no evidence of cleaning while we were there. When we left, toilet paper was nearly gone. Unfortunately, we would not camp there again due to the repulsive outhouses.

This Spot was Beautiful!!! There is a small hill from your car to your spot but nothing too steep. You can fall asleep to the sound of the creek behind the spot and there is a small meadow on the other side of it as well. All of the facilities were very clean. Darrin was a sweetheart and was very helpful.

The campsites sits up on the mountain about an hour from Kernville. Im leaving 4/5 starts because the host was pretty much non existent. They have a cute little gift shop that was open until 4pm the Sunday we arrived. It had souvenirs, basic camp supplies, food, but no wood. Campsite had no water but we were prepare. Additionally, the bathrooms get filled with flies mid day. Overall had a great time, campsite was clean and quiet.

The trees are phenomenal! We were there in the middle of the week at the end of May and the campground was empty! It was quiet and beautiful! The only people were the workers at the camp store, which was fully stocked with necessities and souvenirs. Across the street is the Trail of a Hundred Giants, aka the Sequoias! Wow! We spent most of our time on the walkways through the giants, gawking, and pondering the immense size of the Sequoias. So amazing!

Ive done a lot of camping in my 30 years, but have never had a camp host quite like this before. The host and his wife made us feel right at home! I want to come back next season just to see them lol but also the sites were amazing too. Plenty of places to hang a hammock and our site as right next to the stream! Very cool. 10/10

Our time at Redwood Meadows Campground was a true escape into nature. The serenity of the surroundings, the towering sequoia trees, and the crystal-clear creeks created an atmosphere of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. Whether you're an avid hiker, a nature enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, this campground offers it all. Darin, our host, truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. His warm welcome and willingness to assist with any questions or requests made us feel right at home. His extensive knowledge of the area, including insider tips on the best hiking trails and hidden gems, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip.

clean campsite, just across from the (pit) toilets. No water available at this campground. Site wasn't the most leveled for tent camping. For this site, where you park your car is NOT right next to where your picnic table, fire pit, and tent areas are. You have to go down a slope but that area is mostly flat and you can hear the stream. Camp host was exceptional. The best thing about this campground is the easy access to trail of 100 giants just across the street.

We stayed in the yert and it was a wonderful experience. This was the first time staying in one and it had a bunk bed and a futon. The campsite was actually a very large and could definitely fit a big tent if there is like 10 people in your group. At the entrance of the campground is the trailhead of 100 giants which is where the giant sequoias are located. Definitely recommend this campground.

Silly us for not reading the reviews on here and seeing that there is no running water. That made for an unwelcome surprise when we arrived.Very quiet and idyllic with some little critters for company.Host not on site and camp shop not open on Mondays or Tuesdays at the moment.Pit toilets stunk! No lights in the ones at the back of the loop. Did have toilet paper though.Dumpster was closed and locked.

We had the BEST first camping experience!! Our family stayed in a yurt and it was so clean, comfortable, spacious and Perfect!! Definitely would recommend 10/10 Cant wait to go back!!!

The experience was 5 stars for my family. We stayed in a Yurt and it was very straightforward. This is camping, so keep that in mind. Bring a lantern and gallons of water as there is no electricity or running water. With the trail of 100 Giants literally across the street, this in a no brainier for a family trying to see the beautiful Sequoias at an affordable price.
@EricB5484998 · Camped on Jun 18, 2023 at Campsite #12
This is a beautiful campground. The yurts are very spacious and comfortable, including beds with mattresses. If you use a wheelchair, highly advise bringing your own ramp to access the yurts as there is a 6-8 inch step onto the wooden ramp. Otherwise, the porch, door threshold, and interior are barrier-free. Also note that there is no water (potable or otherwise) at the campground so you need to bring your own. The Trail of a Hundred Giants, which is just across the road, is also very nicely paved and fully accessible (though as of June 2023, part of the trail is closed due to fire damage).
@NicholasC11628 · Camped on Jun 16, 2023 at Campsite #1
The yurts were pretty nice and the campgrounds were in great condition. The camp host was really good and kept the campers insulated from all of the day use traffic. The only problem was that the well for the site wasn’t functioning and there was no water to drink, wash dishes etc unless you brought it yourself. Another improvement would be that the forest service add bear resistant storage containers/lockers for food as there has been history with people storing food in the yurts and hungry bears breaking into them. Overall great camping experience though!

We have previously visited the trail of 100 giants years ago and it was our first time camping in this area at Redwood Meadow.It was also our first time sleeping in a yurt versus our regular tent camping adventures and we really loved it! The facilities were clean and well kept. We were greeted very warmly and respectfully by the gracious camp host, Darin. He is so humble, friendly, and helpful. I appreciated how he was knowledgeable about the traditional stewards of the lands we were on, the Yokuts Native Nation. He shared what he knew about it being a sacred place for them and surrounding nations, as well as part of a trade route that stretches to the coast. As folks who are part of the Indigenous community, this was very nice of him to make us feel welcome and be a good relative. The restrooms were clean, fully stocked, and though pit style toilet, they was a minimal smell. We stayed in yurt site #2 and it was such a nice space, with a giant sequoia next to the tables and fire pit, as well as a pathway that led out to a beautiful, wide open meadow. What a treat! We will definitely plan another stay. Thank you Darin and Michelle for being amazing people.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
