We were in spaces 98 & 99 which were located directly on the creek and within a few feet of the many excellent hiking trails. Water was available close to our campspot. This is a large campground and Port-a-pots are available throughout. There is one restroom with flush toilets & running water close to the park entrance. The campground is about 50 minutes from Crater lake which is great day trip & must see. There is a small store, ice cream shop, cabins & a restaurant all within walking/biking distance - Wifi is available there if you can access the password. If not service is available 10 miles down the road in the town of Prospect. Hiking along the Rogue River is spectacular - make sure to visit the Gourge & Natural Bridge sites both of which are close to the campground. There were also great dirt roads that go on for miles and great for e-bikes. Also the creek was stalked with fish while we were there and several people were seen catching a couple.

Beautiful campground. Love all the tall pine trees and the creek that runs through it. Very peaceful. My kids had a great time. We stayed there in order to visit Crater Lake. Would definitely return.

We love camping at Union Creek and we have a few favorite campsites. This site is not quite the same as it used to be but we still enjoyed our stay. Be aware that due to the placement of several large logs, you can no longer fit a large (6+ person) tent without being in the driveway, on a hill, or on tree roots. Also, the creekside path is routed through the edge of the site so there may be a lot of people walking right past your setup.

This campground was a very fortunate find as we were looking at campgrounds in the area. We were fortunate to reserve a creekside site. Both the sound of water & isolation from other sites was very soothing.

WE have always had a good experience. This time not so good. checkin day no host to help, we had no power. Come to find out someone had shut off all of the breakers. Then Thurs we had most of the day with no power. I feel there should be a least some kind of refund for loss of power. It was hot, my husband needs Oxygen and we could only use the battery, it got very low, and we were ready to leave a day early because of the loss of power.

This is a large, well maintained campground adjacent to the gorgeous Upper Rogue river. The bathrooms were very clean, the sites were, for the most part, quite large and you just can't beat the trails along the river.It's information about the length of trailers is accurate, it's not a great place for large travel trailers; however, we were able to find a site for our 32' Whitehawk. But not all the loops are as accommodating.

Union Creek Campground along the Rogue River offers a remarkable camping experience characterized by privacy, easy access to water, and the proximity to Crater Lake. First and foremost, the level of privacy at Union Creek Campground is impressive. The campsites are well-spaced and surrounded by lush trees, providing a sense of seclusion and tranquility that is often hard to find. Access to water is another significant advantage of this campground. The Rogue River is not only beautiful but also conveniently close to the campsites. Whether you enjoy fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water, you will find it easily accessible and refreshing. The campground host was exceptionally helpful and friendly. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and provided with all the information we needed to have a comfortable stay. The host was always available to answer questions and offer assistance, which greatly enhanced our overall experience.One of the standout features of Union Creek Campground is its location. Being so close to Crater Lake is a huge plus. Overall, Union Creek Campground is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to camp in a beautiful, peaceful, and well-maintained environment. The combination of privacy, access to the Rogue River, a friendly host, and the proximity to Crater Lake makes it a top-notch destination for outdoor enthusiasts. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

We mainly wanted a campground close to Crater Lake and wasn't expecting much. But this gem turned out to be spectacular with lots of history thanks to the CCC, the confluence of Union Creek and the Rogue River, lots of walking and biking trails and an exceptionally friendly host, Gary. It's just too bad there was a streak of hot weather that forced us to cut our trip short after viewing Crater Lake, otherwise would have been a really nice stay.

Camped here, for a week in July 2024. It was a nice campsite, but people need to be aware, there is no path to the creek, that is easily found. Logs and over grown brush has taken it over and they have not cleared it out. It also isn't full shade...a lot of sun and some shade, but it was a clean site and we would reserve it again. The campground on a whole was nice. The host was friendly and helpful with anything that was needed. The store and restaurant are within walking distance. I was raised camping down the road at another campground that doesn't do reservations, but we always walked through this campground and usually do day trips to hike and fish the creek and river it goes into. The area is beautiful and you can't go wrong staying here.

If you want to know where these sites are located you will not see them on the campground map. First, bring up the campground map and find the entrance to the park (NF 400). Look to the left and find NF 390. One can see the turnoff labelled NF 390 and the road NF 390 running back to the campground entrance. The campsites are on NF 390 just short of the turnoff road (NF 390). That is how far they are from the toilets and the lovely campground. The regular (non-electric) campground is lovely. There are water spigots throughout and pit toilets. The river runs along the edge with, many sites available on the river. Now to the three RV sites. There are no photos on the website and no toilets to be seen, literally, you can see farther than the end of the dirt road leading to the sites and not a pit toilet to be found. If one has an RV with a toilet great. If not, expect full exposure in all directions including to the highway. The campground is lush and peaceful. The area around the RV sites has been cleared of all undergrowth for 100 yards back from the highway. There are tall firs, each spread about 20 feet apart. This is no doubt for fire suppression. I get it. So, if you have an RV and are accustomed to exposure, these sites will meet your needs. If you were after the feel of the campground and amenities go back to the map and choose again, or look for another campground with electrical sites if that's all you were after. I will be packing my camp stove next time and choosing the campground. If you read a review before this one and it mentioned the lovey sound of the river, NO, the only sound id the highway.

SUPER spacious--lots of room between sites and couldn't hear anybody else.

We did not stay because there was no way we could get our 21 foot trailer in that spot. Someone from USFS needs to rethink this space. We lost our reservation money and had to pay additional money to stay at a private RV park.

Camp host was amazing. Site 13 is great/amazing you can hear the river at the site and short distant walk. There will be people walking through your site due the trail/path (which my dogs did not like so much but good opprotunity for training).

Very simple but good campground about 40 minutes from the Crater Lake visitor center. Our camp host, Gary, was absolutely awesome! Would definitely be going back for him.

Nice campground. Not enough water spigots though. We had to drive to get water each day. We did see a few deer during our visit. It also got loud with a couple groups of party goers, but that can happen anywhere.

Beautiful campground, but signage on roads in campground was pretty much non-existent. The camp host was not onsite to show us, nor was there a map that showed where our reserved site was....and we made many wrong turns due to lack of signs at campground intersections saying which site numbers were which direction. Very frustrating.

Such a nice campground and a fairly short, pretty drive to crater lake.
@JackS8867688 · Camped on Sep 29, 2023 at Campsite #13
Beautiful spot! Covered in big trees and the sound of the creek. I never heard the road and had plenty of space between my neighbors and me. Just a few miles from waterfalls and the natural bridge. Good fire pits, access to water and bathrooms throughout.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
