This campground has so much... potential. Admittedly we went during a time it had posted that they'd thinned trees and had the trimmings visible. Fortunately, we had a site right on the creek (river?) otherwise it would have been depressing! There were others camped with these giant heaping mounds of trimmed trees and pine needles etc. Our site was lovely, but the campground otherwise felt desolate and sad! There was caution tape across the host site, with a "want to be a host? call here" sign. Which was puzzling. Until I learned that the lowest # campsites currently have no water. Guess a line got cut. The flush toilets... well the one near us wouldn't flush. Probably that line! That was the nicer one. We had to walk quite a ways to the next one (5-7 min walk!). At least those flushed, but the faucet literally turned in the sink. As pretty as my site was, I'm saying farewell to farewell bend....

We so much enjoyed being right next to the Rogue River. The setting is wonderfully beautiful. We were concerned about the removal of so much vegetation next to the highway. This causes more road noise as there in now no buffer. It would be nice if a shower were in the facility. Flush toilets were nice to have. We plan to return ~ and, hopefully have the same spot.

solid campsite! easy to get in and out. a bit of a walk to bathrooms but nothing unmanageable. Good place to stay!

Stayed here while we visited Crater Lake in July. Not many people. Next to River. Could hear some traffic noise. No camp host and burn piles everywhere. The drive to Crater was not too bad. Mosquitos were brutal.

It was a beautiful location. The only downside was that there was a water issue and we couldnt use the toilets for one full day

We love Farewell Bend. It is a beautiful spot for dry camping.

Wonderful secluded and peaceful spot despite the number of pitches at the site. Our camping spot was close by to the river which made it feel quite exclusive and we were able to stroll down to the river whenever we liked, which was great. Good location for day trips to Crater Lake. Our only issue was we didnt have enough time here. Would like to visit again.

Nice park and convenient to Crater Lake! A little too much rain, but its September (frown).

Beautiful spot! Great for families. Close to Crater Lake.

It would be nice to reserve spots next to each other without having to reserve the double sides

The campground was clean, and the site was spacious. Easy to back into with my 33ft 5th wheel. Good access to Crater Lake.

great camping experience, water for sites well located. Note there are many spots that can't be reserved, nice ones by the river. Be sure and explore the gorge trail, well marked, but not well publicized. Get trail maps for entire Crater Lake area before you leave, not readily available once you get there

The campsite was great and we are looking forward to going back next year.The only thing that would of been better is if there was a dump station for our trailers that is closer then Shady Cove.

I dont usually fill out a review. I've camped here for the last five or six years. The issue I have is with the camphost. The last couple years the camphost has been sub-performing Both trips this year, they aren't present. They hang up a sign, especially for my second trip, stating "camp host off duty". Friday your off duty? I was there for 3 days this time, and saw the camphost once. That says alot seems how i was camping directly adjacent to their site. I watched alot of folks come in then leave. I assume this was because it was unclear on how to get a campsite. The bathrooms are being cleaned by what appears to be contracted help. Last year there wasnt any TP in the bathrooms. There are notes hanging in the bathroom for 3 weeks that the soap dispensers are empty. The camphost is not selling firewood, but they have built a wall around their camp out of rounds. Probably a few cords worth. All of these issues don't actually impact me cause I come prepared, but I have never seen anything like this anywhere I've camped. I had to change my own reservation paperwork on the site markers. This is one of my favorite campgrounds and I feel like there should be a camphost there that, A) Is there and B) is doing their job.In my opinion, I think the current camphost is a "squatter ". I'm basing this on behavior and the fact their site looks like a homeless camp.

We camped here in a 40 ft 5th Wheel. It was a tight drive through the campground but if your careful, shouldn't have a problem. The campsites were spacious & felt secluded. Bathrooms were fairly clean. It is a wonderful campground, especially for dark sky viewing. Loved the river flowing behind most the sites. It was quiet & relaxing. I would definitely use this campground again!

Large sites. Rogue Gorge and Natural Bridge are very close, enjoyable, and had nice paved paths.

The camp host, Mel, is amazing. She does everything she can to keep this place pristine and awesome. Some facility updates would be nice as the toilets require multiple flushes and several of the mens toilets were completely clogged but that is not on Mel. It would be great if other campers would read her notes! People kept leaving trash by the recycling rather than walking it to the trash. If you go to a place as amazing as farewell bend, leave it better than you found it! We booked site 26 but when we got there, Mel moved us to 28, which was a much larger site. We were right on the river. This is a campground I will gladly return to!

Farewell Bend is such a beautiful campground with tall trees, plenty of trails for walking, and campsites on the river! We loved sites 7, 8, 9, and 10 for our family trip.
@AngelaG7629019 · Camped on Jul 27, 2023 at Campsite #47
This campground is the nicest place I have ever stayed. It is right on a creek with little waterfalls and swimming holes. Everything was so clean and the sites were big. Such a happy place
@ClarkeMBF98B79 · Camped on Jul 22, 2023 at Campsite #2
Our campsite was dirty when we arrived, there was trash at the site and in the fire ring. Several trees had been cut down so there is not as much shade as there was in the past. And access to the river is now limited. I wont be coming back.

This was a beautiful spot. I think we had one of the best spots in the campground. The river was right outside our tent, with several easy steps to access it. It's also a spot where they stock the fish. I've never camped at a site where bears weren't really present, that was new! Though the site I reserved automatically joined two sites, it was absolutely worth it. The folks around the camp ground were also very nice folks. I would love to come back again.

Nice, quiet campground. Location by the river is great. Restroom & water faucet closest to my site needed work but the next set down were in great shape.

Park host has her area completely roped off and looks like tent city. She's got a Rottweiler in the site that is not friendly. She blocks off one of the best fishing spots in the campground and won't let campers access it. She was 'off duty' every time we went by as well. When we did see her drive by, we asked her if we could buy firewood. She said why would she sell firewood when there is so much wood laying around. She advised us, and many other campers, that we could TAKE any wood, logs, sticks laying around for our fire. Even said we could bring a chain saw to cut the logs! We knew that wasn't ok, but other people were taking logs and cutting them. She also had the wrong check in and out times posted by her site. Very disappointed by her and the way she keeps her park host site. As well as advising people it's ok to take any wood out of the forest for personal use.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
