Spacious sites. We have been coming here for a few years now as part of a big group with multiple families with a mixture of trailers and tents and have never had any complaints about the camp ground. But this time there was no water and no emails or phone calls sent out to anyone with reservations letting them know about no water when the website states there is water. The trash bin was put right next to the bathrooms next to the sites instead of by the checkin board like normal, since there have been bears in the past would be nice to have the trash bin away from the actual camp sites especially since the bin was over flowing with trash and could not be closed and locked at night. There was also horse crap everywhere in the camp sites. I know some are horse spots but the crap should be cleaned up for the next campers. It would be as if I just let my dogs crap everywhere and didnt pick it up.

NO WATER and NO DUMPSTER for trash! No host. No information given by Recreation.Gov. Outhouses were filthy, stinky and no toilet paper. Recreation.Gov should offer a refund for the cost of any nights paid for at this campground.

This campground should have never been opened. My reservation a week prior to my stay was cancelled because the campground wasn’t ready. Still wasn’t ready. Refund should be in order. I never camp where this isn’t any water. No water. No dumpster. Loggers dropping trees in the campground.

As of 7/1 -7/4, there is currently no running water or garbage service at Whitehorse. Wish this would have been posted here as a notification.

Very unfortunate year. I always love my stay at White Horse. However, this year they had a very late open date and had not yet been able turn on the water nor provide a dumpster. For short stays no problem but when your stay is longer than one week, the no dumpster issue definitely becomes an issue. Normal rating is amazing stay, this year I give a fair rating.

Absolutely lovely campground, very quiet and very well-maintained! Truly appreciated the hand sanitizer in the bathrooms and the freshly raked campsites. This is one of our favorite campgrounds!

Very clean and shady campground. Plenty of space to setup a tent but seemed to be a bit tight for RVs, especially class A or fairly long RVs. Weather gets cold during the night, and with the amount of shade around, doesn't heat up extremely high - overall very pleasant. Bear-proof food storage lockers are available at every site and several water stations available throughout the grounds. Would recommend for anyone looking to camp without overcrowding.

I love Whitehorse. Unfortunately, we got severe food poisoning from sandwiches made at that market on the right on the way in. Bears came through our camp. We had NO BEAR LOCKERS. They mauled our cars and ate our food. Spaces 16 and 15 don't even have bear lockers. Otherwise we had a wonderful experience.

Fires in CA changed my plans and had to go west of Lassen and campsite. Discouraged REC.GOV did not give full credit for cancellation.

Amazing site in the woods. Lots of bird life (duck mama and her ducklings visited at dawn to say hello!). Right next to great loop trail and a short distance to the lake. Quiet and beautiful. Camp host was nice, couldn’t have been better.

Beautiful setting, amenities as listed. I'd definitely go back. It would have been nice if all sites had bear boxes (most seemed to, but not all).

Campground was small and clean. Bathrooms were very stinky although they were cleaned daily. No bear cupboards so all food had to be locked inside vehicles. There is a very large bear roaming around looking for food. Had a stare down with my brother while he was in his tent one night. On my last night there the bear tipped over the big green campground garbage bin and dragged it. My brother was going to stay 2 more days but due to the bear being so aggressive with the garbage can he decided to pack up and leave.

My first time at this camp. Stores and restaurants/concessions close by and Quincy is not far away if you want that type of convenience. The noise from the road and helicopters flying over starting at 6am during the week offsets what could be a peaceful setting. Although the camp was mostly clean, the camp hosts were not only offsite, but also no where to be found. Almost every campsite had dogs and they barked constantly. Loud/disrespectful campers a couple of nights as well. As mentioned in a prior review, there is a large aggressive bear that hammered the small dumpster, from 10pm to midnight. It sounded like World War III. I don't have a problem camping around bears, but this was unusually loud and disruptive considering that there are no bear boxes, and this bear apparently frequents the area.

Love this cute little clean hideaway tucked away in the woods. Many hiking trails nearby, close access to the lake and resorts and a cute little spring runs through it that our dog loves. It could use new bathrooms but many forest service campgrounds could. Nice drive to Quincy for supplies. Looking forward to booking our trip in 2020.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
