Jesse Tiffany and his wife were awesome! There was a mix up with the reservations. Double booked the same site. But we got a different site and loved it. They were so helpful and they were one of the best campground hosts we have ever had!!! Bring them back next year please!!!!

This place is beautiful! The campsite is HUGE and everyone there (with the exception of one neighbor) were super sweet! The camp host, I truly cannot say enough nice things about! She went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of, needs were met, and having fun! Highly recommend coming here and will absolutely be coming back to camp again next year!

Our family of 45 people reserved 7 campsite for our annual camping trip. It was our first time at Lone Rock and Antelope Lake but we would definitely go back. Sheila the campground host is direct and no nonsense type of gal but not in a bad way. She just wants everyone to enjoy their time at the campground and for everyone to be considerate. She laid down the law and was not shy about telling us she would kick us out if we did not respect quiet time. We respected the rules and were considerate of other campers and there were no issues. I do wish the campground had cleaner swimming area so we didnt have to haul our belongings somewhere else but we still had lake time at another day use spot nearby. This is definitely a secret gem. On a busy 4th of July weekend, we didnt struggle to find space or feel congested. Thank you Lone Rock staff for taking care of the property and bathrooms. We will be back!

Memorial Day weekend 2024. The Forestry Service cut down trees and stacked the logs and branches in my RV spot 022. The spot was unusable without moving the logs and branches. My wife and I spent at least an hour re-stacking the logs and moving two large stacks of branches. Thank you Forest Service for getting my Memorial Day weekend off to a great start!

The camp hosts this year (Shiela & Marty) were great! They kept the bathrooms clean and well-stocked. They also made sure people were following the campground rules. There was a Labor Day weekend group who were not following the campground rules and Shiela did bring their attention to it. However, they continued to break the rules resulting in Shiela asking them to leave. This was a group of people from Reno, NV who were together. We, as well as other campers, were happy to see all of them go. We hope they won't be back next year.

Very nice campground on a beautiful lake! It would be a 5-star campground if it wasn't for the condition of the roads within the campground. There are many potholes and the shoulders are broken down from years of neglect. There are deteriorated concrete barriers with exposed rebar that will take out a tire if you're not careful. The road into the lake also needs some repair, but obviously, this is outside of the campground's responsibilities. It gets a little busy on the weekends but come Sunday morning it is very quiet again.

Great campground. Well maintained. Would have given it five stars had the camp host come by and checked us in and explained the rules (there were people having loud parties late into the night) - it might help to notify everyone of the rules.

The lake is full. hard to get to,becouse of road work. main road is closed during the week.

We had a campsite right on the lake, which was ideal since we had a boat. The campsite was large, with enough room for our 2 1/2 and almost-four year old grandsons to run around! Restrooms were clean and well stocked at all times. It wasn't crowded when we were there midweek, which added to our enjoyment.

the asphalt pads are in terrible shape and haven't been repaired for years. Fire pits are rusted out and unsightly. Recreation.Gov shows a store available but it has been removed.

Sheila and Marty were great camp hosts, very helpful, the bathrooms stayed clean and stocked, and they always waved to us when doing their rounds. The only slightly negative thing worth mentioning is a fallen tree that’s blocking the road to the boat launch and preventing anyone from using it. Lone Rock has been our go-to weekend spot for a few years and it doesn’t disappoint.

Hosts were available & friendly. Restrooms were kept clean. Overall it was a much better experience than last year.

We were not informed the road would be closed so we had to drive and hour and half more to go around to a different route. then when we got there the water had not been turned on so we had no water for 2 days. the boat ramp had not been put in the water so we had a hard time launching our boat. There was only 2 camp host for the 3 campgrounds and they were very much overwhelmed with what to do. Once the water was turned on we had a nice time we love it up there but the last 2 years with the outdoors in plumas as managers have not been as enjoyable. we hope the next time we go things will be better.

Just miss the store that used to be there! It was nice because there were only four camp spots in use!

The USFS campgrounds are in dire need of general maintenance to include pavement and signage.
@KurtT1158170 · Camped on Sep 2, 2022 at Campsite #50
Water was low, but that's not a surprise as it's the end of summer. Lots of deer in the campground and area. Not sure when the pit toilets got pumped, but the stench from the top vent was reaching us about 50 yards away. The roads in the area could use some patching/sealing/paving as they are severely cracked. Overall, we will be back as long as the this crazy scheduling/reservation system doesn't mess that up.
@JamesH5225020 · Camped on Jul 30, 2022 at Campsite #70
The store at the campground is not there enen though it's advertised on your website. The campground needs a lot of maintenance! We've been coming to Lone Rock for years and am really disappointed in the contractor in charge of the campgrounds. With that said, they raised the rates for the sites! Very disappointed...
@DonT7507581 · Camped on Jul 28, 2022 at Campsite #87
We had to take the last site in the campground, because it said that all the other sites were reserved. There were at least 10-15 empty campsites that said reserved on them during our entire stay. Then we were right next to the garbage dumpster that was brimming over the top and stinking horrendously. The dumpster should be located at the front entrance. They have a huge area there and it would keep it out of the campground where people are trying to enjoy their stay.

Saw some great wildlife like deer, bald eagle and ospreys. Fishing was so so because the lake is very weedy on the west side. Otherwise great little campground. Didn't have any issues. Very clean bathrooms.

Beautiful area, did some great kayaking and swimming in the lake. We had a spot near the bathroom and the smell was pretty bad in the morning, but overall we really enjoyed our time!

We had a great time at Lone Rock. The campgrounds were well kept and cared for. The lake was full of water and gorgeous this year. Cant' wait to go back.
@SamuelM5347943 · Camped on Jun 18, 2022 at Campsite #72
We always enjoy Lone Rock but this year, unlike years past, the store is not there, or at least not the one from year’s past. That location is now the camp host’s site and he was very helpful when we bought some firewood.
@DavidB5075483 · Camped on Jun 12, 2022 at Campsite #68
There was no real communication with the hosts, fire pits were not emptied, campsite tags on many sites confusing. This was not the quality we were used to.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
