Very cool campground! We stayed in site 5. Just as a heads up this site says is trailer friendly but you just have to park on the road and then walk down to your site. Also the level 2 fire ban is in place for Jefferson County. We thought this campground was Douglas county which only has a level 1 ban. Long story short, we couldnt have a fire but we still had fun. We floated down the river and watched all the fly fishers. Great place! $10 extra a night per additional car past the two car site limit as an FYI.

Deckers was great, very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms smelled great, no bad odors and well maintained. Best yet was campsites hosts. They were great. Already making plans for 2025.

Beautiful spots right on the river. Well maintained campground with wonderful hosts. Cleanest bathrooms I have ever experienced at a campground. The hosts blocked day-use the weekend we were there, so we didn't have to deal with a bunch of extra crowding. The river was still very high and swift at the end of June.

The Campground Host do a fantastic job in maintaining the privys and are Exceptionally friendly. Several (many) times I have seen them go beyond the norm of helping people with campsites. They are always happy and helpful.

Beautiful setting! Close proximity to great fly-fishing water. Wonderful campground hosts. Well be back!

Our campsite had rain ruts all through it. It does not have a built up pad. Thankfully the campers next door had a rake and loaned it to us. The vegetation blocked the view of the river. No shade either. Hosts were great and everyone was very quiet at night.

Beautiful campground right on the river! The sites are well maintained and the views are spectacular. We really enjoy fly fishing and sharing the river with the tubers floating down the river.

A few things to be aware of: Biting flies are very bad. If you're not prepared to take shelter in your tent or wear full coverage clothing for several hours, not the location for you. Deet doesn't work on these guys and they leave welts. Dogs are hit particularly hard. For the most part, sites are not pull-up and load out. You will have to carry gear further than most campsites that aren't hike-in. Campsites are very close together compared to other campgrounds as well. Parking is tight and people overload their sites above vehicle capacity, making it worse. There is really only room for one tent per site due to uneven ground.The pros: Fishing access.

Nice little campground right in the valley of the Rockies. Not over crowded like Estes Park. We were worried about not having privacy since there was a fire there in that area, but there were plenty of ever greens through out the campground. It felt like we were camping in a Christmas tree farm. The camp host was very helpful. The facility was clean and well organized. We will for sure venture back there some day.

We liked how close it was to the river, clean restrooms, and friendly people. We didn’t love how close the sites were to each other; it was tough to fall asleep when you could hear people talking and laughing. Easy to get to, paved road the whole way, few mosquitos but lots of ankle biting horse flies.

A great campground 10 minutes from the RMNP entrance. Great fishing and hiking directly from the camp. Camp sites are well maintained and equipped. We've stayed here twice and will stay here again.

Beautiful area, the camp hosts were excellent. Spots are really close to each other so we could hear everything the surrounding camps had to say.
@SusanK2706776 · Camped on Jun 6, 2023 at Campsite #9
If I am paying to sleep on the ground I want a barrier between sites. Literally tent pad was feet from next site. People walking through my site to get to the river. Dogs are off leash. Bathroom decent. Camp hosts were only there that night. There is some beauty in the river, sounds of birds, and the rock formations; however, does not make it as one of my favorite places Word of caution pads are not flat so during a rainstorm it collects water.

Lone Rock 05 used to be a prime spot with 2 big shade trees and room on the riverbank to put chairs. I had been there at least 8 times, but it had been at least 15 years since I last visited and was very sad to see both trees cut down and the riverbank had eroded so there was no room to put chairs. No fault of the campground just time passing so keep in mind that there is no shade and, on a 90+ degree day in Denver, the temp gets up there during the day so be prepared with your own canopy. The vault toilet was clean and after the partiers of Labor Day left, it was very peaceful. We never had direct contact with the camp host but never needed anything. I filled a grocery bag about 1/2 full of trash around our site before we left and none of it was ours. Deer came to check us out while we were roasting hot dogs :)

This is a great campground with wonderful fishing, awesome views, and clean facilities. We had a wonderful, peaceful stay. However, I have to say that I think site 12 is legitimately dangerous due to its steepness and significant erosion around the stairs and the entire embankment up to the site. If you have an RV and don't use the table/fire grate you'll be fine but any other usage is really asking for a nasty accident at some point, in a place with absolutely no cell phone coverage.
@StephenC406899 · Camped on Aug 30, 2022 at Campsite #19
Campsite hosts were great, but site #19(?) was less than desirable; too steep and rocky to comfortably sleep in a small tent. Campground in general was too open and too many sites appeared to be RVs parked on the edge of the roadway and in the small parking area. Direct access to the river was definite plus.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
