Small campground with decently sized sites that are generally well spaced. Quiet area, though you will hear cars on the main road and neighbors if their voices are loud enough. Bathroom was clean and firewood well-stocked by the host. Love walking the road, the CT, or driving to the lake to hike the trail there. Overall, one of my favorite campgrounds in all of CO.

Very clean campsite. Lots of room and the vibes were very chill. No cell service but lots of trash cans, running water well, and clean bathroom! Bring $10 for the day pass/entrance fee for the park (cash or check)! If you have the America the Beautiful (national park pass) the entry fee is $5 even with a campsite reservation.

We stayed at Site 11. This site is near the water pump and close to the vault toilets. The pump did not have the crank arm but if you needed water you could drive a short distance up to Jefferson Creek Campground to get water from their pump. As the picture shows, there is not much shade at this specific site. You do have a little but hopping around throughout the day is needed to stay in the shade and you start to creep near other site. Most of the other sites do have decent, large tree coverage. Some are less shade but with great open space and views (like site 12).The site overall was clean and well kept. A bear locker is steps away from the site. The vault toilets were very clean and although site 11 is near the toilets, there was not smell coming from them. Two bear-safe large trash bins are near the front of the campground as well. We didn't see these at the Jefferson Creek campground, but may have missed them in my walk through. The hosts we not on site while we were there in mid-July for 2 nights, so I don't have information to share for that.Access road in was rough but even in our mini-van it was not awful. Jefferson lake is just under 3 miles away. This was so beautiful. Many were fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking. There is a good sized picnic area at the lake between the lower parking lot (for anglers) and the upper parking lot (for water craft launches).Very nice area and will plan on going back in the future.

Lovely campground! Beautiful area with lots of trees. FYI- if you want to hike around Jefferson Lake it is not a nice leisurely stroll around a lake. We learned the hard way. The path was hard to find for most of it and we ended up hiking on the beach (if you can call large rocks and boulders a beach). Still, it was beautiful and we are very happy we did it. But maybe dont take our route.

Nice campground in a great location. Easy access to the Colorado trail. Sites are a little close together and fire pits are a good distance away from camper parking spots. 10-minute drive to Jefferson Lake.

Our party stayed at sites 4 and 5 over two days. Plenty of shade and would stay at either 4, 5 or 6 next time as they were perfect for tent camping. Jefferson Lake is just a few miles up the road and a great place for hiking or SUP. Host was at site 7, but did not see them at all, which is fine by us. Sites were clean, there was plenty of firewood for purchase and the pit toilets were in good order. Highly recommended.

Nice campground. Our site (12) was clean. Bathrooms were in pretty good shape. It's probably the going rate, but $10 for one bundle of wood seems high.

Other than Jefferson Lake still being frozen over, it was a perfect mid-week camping/fishing trip. Great campground and host.

Campground and facilities were clean, quiet, and beautiful. Camp host was super friendly and readily available. Plenty of hiking to do with the CT and Jefferson Lake so close, and lots of ponds and rivers for fishing--we didn't have to drive to any of it, it's all within half a mile or so! Jefferson also has a cute little town area right outside the camping road for basic supplies, good food and coffee.

Great campsite. Surrounded by Aspens. Down the road is a swampy area where the Moose live. We spotted a female right near the road in the water. A nearby lake included fishing and hiking. The nearby town of Jefferson had a great little restaurant with a great cook. The breakfast was good and large. I recommend the blueberry pancakes. A short ride took us over rustic Borea Pass.

This is my new happy place. The hosts were extremely helpful, and the sites generous in size and diversity. Great place to basecamp, many adventures to be had nearby.

Large level campsites nicely dispersed. Rough road into campground area. Great camp hosts. Would visit again.

We really like Aspen camping, hosts are very nice. Plenty of room easy parking

We really appreciated the clean bathrooms and the hand sanitizer on the stump outside them. As part of exploring, we walked to the campground next to us and the bathrooms there were smelly (and no hand sanitizer). We also liked the relatively small size and that we had hosts. Colorado is truly so beautiful and we wish we could visit more often!

Well maintained facilities. Located in beautiful aspen grove, turning color in the fall.
@AllanC100 · Camped on Sep 13, 2021 at Campsite #11
The camp host was outstanding. Helpful, courteous, and kept the campsites and toilets extremely clean. Saw 8 moose in the Jefferson Recreation area over 3 days. Had fun with inflatable pontoon boats on the lake, but fishing was spotty to poor. Either CPW is not stocking as much or perhaps just more extensively fished as more people are seeking outdoor activities. Overall good value for the fees charged, especially with the senior discount pass.
@ClaudiaG715 · Camped on Sep 9, 2021 at Campsite #4
Using Recreation.gov was a breeze and we received helpful documents and reminders. The campsite was neat, clean and beautiful. Always a pleasure!
@DanaM450 · Camped on Sep 3, 2021 at Campsite #5
Nice small campground with beautiful scenery, and clean facilities. We had moose come through the site which was very exciting. Only negative was our site (5) was very close to neighbors at site 4. Would go back!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
