When we came not many sites were occupied so we had it to ourselves. The campground is beautiful with lots of trees. The hiking trails around the campground were great and allowed us to stretch our legs and get the dogs out. The bathrooms and campground were VERY clean. The camp host was friendly and helpful. We were a short 10 minute drive to Leadville. 5G Google Fi and AT&T cell service was very good as we were able to stream during a rain storm with no issues.The sites are a bit unlevel but nothing leveling blocks can't handle. The fire pit was full of ash and old wood but we use a propane fire box so not a huge deal. We will definitely come back!

Great campsite. Site 21 next to host David. Drop was well maintained & clean with TP supply. Numerous easy hiking trails & Turquoise Lake 1/4 mile from site 21. Good shade. Bring your skeeter repellent. AT7T coverage 3 bars on an old S8+ & 4 bars on a newer iPhone.

David our camp host is exceptional. He made the experience better!

Overall we enjoyed our experience. We were disappointed with the number of reserved sites that were unoccupied. Its so hard to get reservations. Its difficult to see how many people save spots and then dont use them.

It was a beautiful location. We are introducing our grandkids to mountain biking and there is a wonderful beginner trail around the campground. The toilets were also very clean.

Nice wooded campsites, not far from the lake. Helpful camp host.

I do not recommend spot 29 for trailers. The angle of the driveway on the one way road required us to back-up 300 feet to get into it. Several other spots in loop b were the same. Bathroom was clean. Camp host was pleasant. So many mosquitoes in mid-July. A lot of ponds throughout the campsite. Quiet. I could not find the trailhead to get to the lake.

Our camping site was lovely only too many mosquitos in the evening. The bathrooms were kept very clean, except for the time my husband wanted to use it and it was locked. Was someone inside? Or was the floor drying? A short walk to the lake then along the lakeshore was a highlight. Beautiful! The ashes were never cleaned out of the fiepits as I have experienced in other campgrounds.

The description for Silver Dollar #16 said that it would accommodate a 30 foot trailer. However, the driveway is very short and best for tent camping, and it is often muddy at the base. It is inclined and would be difficult for a short tent trailer. Thankfully, the camphost found us a another site that would accept our 23 ft. hardside trailer. The camphost was great.

Campground is well maintained, but no water available this year. Trailers trigger an additional vehicle pass PER DAY, so be aware.

One of my favorite campgrounds, the sites are not too close together and there are plenty of trees and shade in the tall pines. The host at this campground was very nice and gave great info about the short walk to Turquoise Lake from my site. It is very easy to get on the Turquoise Lake nature trail from the site. As an extra plus, the host keeps the bathrooms very clean. Thanks for a great stay!

Campground is protected by trees from windy days found at the reservoir beach.

This was an excellent experience. The grounds are very well kept, and the gentleman working there was professional and courteous. I will go back again in the future. Very nice spot!

Great campground, only complaint is the site itself was a little hilly

Beautiful campground! Would absolutely stay there again. Clean, quiet, with tons of tree cover.
@MichaelB697476 · Camped on Aug 25, 2023 at Campsite #17
This is a beautiful campground. However, this particular camp site is horrible for tent camping. We slept on a slanted hill, as the only option. The weather was rainy and cold so we bailed the second night.

We had an enjoyable 2 day trip with friends. Our campsites were clean and roomy. The camp host was helpful. We hope to return sometime.

Great site! Great campground host! I was wonderful being there when there were not many people camping. I have been to this CG when in the height of the summer and it was a bit bonkers. This was a chill relaxing weekend with the woman I love, and it was perfect!
@JeffS4172407 · Camped on Aug 20, 2023 at Campsite #43
Site 43 is a nice site in terms of neighbors. If you have a trailer, the front end will need to be extended considerably.The site is in need of several tons of fill to lessen the drop off.
@DonaldS2271497 · Camped on Aug 15, 2023 at Campsite #37
It's a pleasant hilly campground with ample spaces between sites. My only problem that i've never encountered with several federal campgrounds in Colorado was some rowdy young adults running thru the campground yelling and flashing lights at other tents and campers about 11pm.The federal and Colorado campgrounds have really jacked up rates and added special charges the last few years. Like i saw in Michigan twenty years ago, raising rates drives out the family campers whose incomes pale in comparison to Colorado and federal employee incomes. A relatively empty campground invites bad behaviors and crime, and the the price increases reduce demand with less overall revenue to support the campgrounds.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
