We were here only one night in 36. Not right on the lake, but the hiking path to it is right down the hill and only couple of minutes to a nice sandy beach. We saw a great sunset and went swimming the next morning. The stars at night were amazing. The milky way is really visible when you camp at a lake two miles up.The downside is the sights are fairly exposed. We could see other campers and a big 5th wheel trailer next to us, but fortunately everyone was quiet.We took a break from camp food that night and went in to Leadville 10 to 15 minutes away. We ate at Treeline restaurant. It was sooo good.

Great campground. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. The grounds were clean and the camp hosts were helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at Molly Brown.

The best campsite! Right next to the lake - bring paddle boards! Lots of mosquitos. Site 8 doesnt have much of a tent pad but you can make it work - we had site 9 too and fit 3 large tents up there with 2 small ones at site 8.

Turquoise Lake was beautiful! Camping location was excellent. Mosquitoes were many and made hiking and camping less than enjoyable. Bathrooms had no toilet paper and womens bathroom door was very difficult to close and lock.

We loved the few days we spent at Molly Brown #36. There was a bit of a drop (and it was located on a curve) to get into the site but once in, we loved this site. Quiet and serene. Had good cell service from this location.

Camping at Molly brown campgrounds was a wonderful camping experience. Our site was very clean, bathrooms were surprisingly very very clean, Unlike many other camp grounds weve been too. Definitely bring your kayaks! Great Lake to float around on!

Unfortunately this year at Molly Brown was disappointing. The bathrooms were dirty and smelly. At the end of the season they were so full it was disgusting. Leash law not enforced. We also noticed a LOT of open sites/no shows. Its heartbreaking to see so many empty sites when it is so hard to get a reservation.

Great campsite! lots of space in each lot. Tons of firewood for sale by the restroom. Restrooms were clean throughout our stay. And the best part is you are right on a beautiful lake. Would definitely recommend to friends, and I plan to come back soon!

We had the perfect spot, finally!!! So hard to get those waterfront spots. Perfect for lake days, easy access to the bike trails, and it was perfect weather!!

Surrounded by inconsiderate dog owners who allowed nuisance barking from shortly after 6 AM until around 10 PM. Dogs were left in camp to bark while owners left for the day.

Frustrated about rules for vehicles posted on. Rec.gov are not those the company running the actual campsite will be using. Despite having 2 vehicles fitting in the site without issue. Camp Host Andy enforced a rule that if both vehicles could provide a sleep to the driver its consider an RV. No supportive documentation could be provided from either rec.gov or the camp host. Being put in a bind to then pay for another site at 7:30 at night despite being in the site since check in and camp host driving past with no discussion. Feeling bullied to have to pay additional fees to enjoy the area or being forced to leave. This rule wasnt applied to any of the other campers with similar vehicles. Will not be returning in the future. Especially after reaching out for clarification and being told Rec.gov cannot speak to the contracted employees they hire. Despite this being a representation of their business model. Overall disappointed that its all about getting paid and not the customer experiencing the amazing outdoors that Colorado has to offer.

Even though we were in the back loop, not on the lake, it wasn't far to walk to the lake. Being back away from the shore shields you from the afternoon wind that comes off the lake too. Our site was spacious, and quiet. There is a mountain biking trail network that leaves right from Molly Brown campground, which was nice. My only complaint is that the camp host was very snooty and unfriendly.

Loved this campground. The hosts were awesome, beautiful sites and a great time. Walked around Turquoise Lake, Walked the Mineral Belt.

Very peaceful and beautiful. We kayaked in the morning (and do it early before the winds pick up), hiked part way around the lake, and enjoyed time by the firepit.

One of my favorite campgrounds
@PaulaS4520495 · Camped on Jul 18, 2023 at Campsite #49
Its a great campground. Lots of room between sites with easy access to water from all. Its a hard place to get a site. We had to move 3 times to get 3 nights. Sadly neither site we left was ever occupied during our stay. It just tells me people are not good about canceling if they cant make it. PLEASE cancel if you arent going to make it. It gives other people the joy of camping at a great place.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
