Group site was perfect for a large group of noisy kiddos, back by itself so we didn't disturb others peace and quiet. Beautiful view of the lake.

Wide campsites spaced comfortably apart...view of the lake from several campsites...lovely walking trail around the lake...well-maintained...centrally-located bathrooms...firewood available when campfires are allowed...32 miles from internet...just a great place to kick back and relax and enjoy nature and peace and quiet. Reasonably priced. I would go back!

Nice campground on the lake with a launch ramp. Unfortunately there is no clearing at the waterline or a "beach" area adjacent to the ramp to set up once you've launched and the lake banks are steep and rocky. The campground itself is well maintained. Hiking options are few. Boating, fishing and paddling seem like the primary activities.

Beautiful site with bathrooms that were easy to get to and clean. Short walks to nearby trails and lake access, including the swimming section by the day-use area, made the experience delightful for our family.

It rained and was cold the entire time of our camping trip. That said, there was a burn ban even though the earth was doused with rain. We decided to take a day and walk the Wynoochee Lake Shore Trail. It is unmaintained, and the trail is very dangerous and totally washed away in places. The old, slimy log bridge between points 7 and 9 of the trail does not have a hand rail, and it proved unsafe to cross. It is high above a creek and very much overgrown with brush, making a wet crossing equally dangerous. Our campsite in Coho campground had a fallen tree where our tenting spot would have been. Why the camp host fell a tree there, and left it there does not make sense. There was also a widow maker hanging over the parking area. All in all, it is a beautiful place to camp. Very disappointed in the condition of the lake shore trail and the burn ban.

So beautiful! Love the trails. Even in the rain! Campsites & bathrooms so clean & tidy.

Great campground with pretty private and spacious sites. The lake and the trails around the lake were great hikes for the pups. We will be back.

Site was clean, just a couple steps from the parking lot, and we had enough space to fit one small 2-person tent, plus two larger 4-person tents. Camp host was also very kind and the location next to the lake was beautiful. A good find!
@RebeccaS312468 · Camped on Aug 14, 2024 at Campsite #40
Definitely avoid site 40 in loop B. The site is just gravel and the bathroom: no trees, no privacy, and the bathroom door slamming throughout the day and night. Some of the other sites looked okay, but very small and packed together.The lake is a reservoir with an industrial dam. I didnt see a single bird, fish, or forest critter over the course of 3 days. The trails in the area are terribly overgrown. Overall disappointing and far from the peaceful camping experience I had hoped for.I rated an extra star because the camp host was kind and helpful and the bathrooms were clean.

The site host was incredibly kind and stopped to help us get our yurt key even though he was busy with other things. The lake and hill views are beautiful. The campground is crowded and a lot of people were very loud/playing loud music past quiet hours. Limited parking spots for the walk-in areas, so we had to park in a weird spot off the shoulder of the road by the lot.

Lovely campground with a great host and nice to have first come first serve spaces in addition to the reservation ones.

We enjoyed the stay very much. The sites are big and the host was very nice with our children. Take the road from the south as the other road is not in a good condition.

Coho Campground is beautiful! The sites are fairly well spaced out, and the campground is clean and paved. A couple of nice hikes nearby, through the forest and down to the lake and dam.That said, do not drive to the campground from Hwy 101 on Donkey Creek Road. THAT road is unimproved with huge washes and potholes! Instead, users should approach the campground from US 12 at Montesano. It would be good if Rec.gov pointed that out to campers!

Love the trail around the reservoir

This was a beautiful camp ground. Right near a rocky beach with swimming available, lots of great trails and some neat information and cool views from the dam. They actually had flush toilets - a bit of a luxury in a national forest campground - and the sites were comfortable and well spaced. We would love to stay again!

I love Coho campground. The hosts were great. I'm happy that we could buy ice daily rather than doing a 62 mile trek every day for ice. The one thing I object to is the allowance of the hydro jet boats on the lake. This is a rural, serene, area and to have those jet boats going up and down the lake for hours really ruins the tranquility of the place. The lake is only 5 miles long at the most so we are experiencing back and forth extremely loud noise for hrs. Other campers were annoyed as well. I'm not saying all boats and skidoos should not be there, I just think the jet boats should stay in a urban setting and not at the lake. Please consider restricting the hydro boats on Lake Wynoochee.

Very nice and helpful campground host. Remarkably clean washrooms. What a beautiful campsite with a stunning view of the lake and crystal clear water inviting you to swim. We will come back!

The Coho campground is now managed by D5 Recreation LLC and the new host would not let me move from my reserved site to a first come first serve site without paying for both sites , in the past when under different management and at other forest service campgrounds also I was able to move from a reserved site to a first come site with no additional fee. I think I deserve a refund.

Its a nice campground, well maintained!Bathrooms are clean, there is soap and paper towels in the bathroom. Lake is nice and very beautiful! Definitely come back spot for us.

very good host. good shade. easy access to water and restrooms. campgrounds are not too close and we were not bothered with any noise. the lake is great and the hiking trail around the lake was gorgeous. ice, snacks, and firewood were available on-site for sale. I was able to make up for the lack of a shower by daily swimming in the clean water of the lake... kayaking was gorgeous. protected area for the kids swimming and adults away from the boats... very safe.. no lifeguards though. carry your life jacket.

Very nice campground, asphalt pads, nice spacing between sites and wonderful amenities

We loved it here the view was amazing and its far enough from other campers too. we felt safe as the host drives by periodically to check in on how the camp sites are doing without disturbing anyone, I loved that. Great place for family and there is plenty of trails for all to enjoy. This is our go-to when we want to get out of town and into the woods. Also, there are waterfalls, 3 to be exact close by although you will have to drive then hike. It makes for a nice day trip. The lake is beautiful, peaceful and a joy to be in. We always bring our kayaks, tubes and water toys, small barbecue for the beach yet there are barbecue pits at the waters edge as well. Remember DOGS are permitted on at least a 6' leash and please pick up after them. Thank you

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
