Went in September and it was very peaceful. Be sure to take shower shoes and a plastic shower caddy.

Beautiful campsite. It would be helpful if the water hookups were closer to the site

If u get out on a boat @ tenkiller u must try 1 of many of marina/boat dock restaurants. They have been doing an awesum job 4 many years,depending on what u crave will determine which is best 4 u!

Poorly maintained! Never do they weed eat. People bring their own weed eaters.The cement pad that the picnic tables sit on are covered with dirt and stones. Bathroom was closed the whole time we were there. Poorly maintained.

Site 50 was laid out great and very well shaded. Will definitely camp that spot again. However, it said allowable was 86 feet, absolutely not. My trailer is 31 feet overall and my tongue jack was almost maxed out the get level. Worked for me but I wouldnt recommend anything bigger.

Clean place, however zero shade in the spot we had.

Got a last minute spot on a holiday weekend so the site wasn't great but it was good. ( Site # 98 ). The plug in receptacle was worn out, very loose. Camp host took notes and was going to turn it in. The camp host, Clarence and his wife were very nice and accommodating people. For a 4th of July weekend they kept the campgrounds very clean. The black/gray water dump area was good. We have other favorite areas on Tenkiller but would definitely stay at chicken creek again!

Lot was good, but Fireworks were shot off every night on the 4th, 5th and 6th, keeping us awake and upsetting our dog terribly. We thought that fireworks were not allowed on the property, that was a disappointment.

The campgrounds are beautiful. They need a new shack attendant with isnt rude and doesnt harass families

I've stayed at Chicken Creek for many years, and the campground really needs some improvements and management. First, the grass was extremely high...So high that people were bringing in their personal equipment to cut the grass. Second, so many tree limbs need cut back as they are damaging campers and boats as they go through the park. We even ran into one backing into our site. The sites are showing age, especially on the reservable side. The campsite tables and benches are falling apart at several sites. For our specific site, the table was on the opposite side of our camper door which was very inconvenient and really didn't make sense. Finally, it was a holiday weekend and the park was full. It would be nice to have someone manage the excessive number of cars and people at a site (since it is supposed to be limited based on the reservation), as well as have quiet hours enforced. I get that it's difficult to manage when the campground is full, but having loud music at 2am should be against the campground rules and enforced. Unfortunately, the campground management chooses to look the other way and ignore it rather than have a confrontation. The location of Chicken Creek is perfect and has so much potential. However, it is in desperate need of an overhaul.

The park was in need of mowing really bad. Grass was really high. You would think since the park had no available sites open for the holiday weekend they would have seen this was done. I love this park but it is in need of some updating. Rail ties are rotted and spikes are exposed. Tree limbs need trimmed to fit rv in sites.

Dont get me wrong, I love going to lake Tenkiller I also usually enjoy staying at chicken creek when I go camping. However, this past weekend was not a good one. Besides the rain most of the time the tall grass was really annoying. You would think that they would take care of the campgrounds and keep them looking nice especially right before a holiday weekend. The bathrooms were really bad this time also. More so I couldnt believe how tall the grass was. It was just about the entire talk of the weekend all around the camp sites. Disappointed camping trip and the first time I was actually nervous about having a campfire to make smores for the kids.

There were several factors involved in our trip. We usually love staying there but these were a deal breaker for us for the future. First off the spot we reserved (43) said it would accommodate an RV much longer than our 40 ft model. That is in fact misleading and only an experienced driver could navigate that, which my husband did after much heckling and work. Then to top it off the grass was so tall we didnt even want to be outside because there were ticks crawling on you once you walked out. Not my example of a fun experience. I understand we are in the wild, but The awesome camp hosts worked with us to move to a better spot for a few nights but I ended up bringing my weed whacker to clear some spots for us to have better use of the site (25).

We love coming to Chicken creek with our family. The camp grounds are always clean, staff is so nice, and the lake is beautiful. We will be coming back for years to come.

We stayed here for a week. This is the first time of staying here. All week was great. Not many campers and was very quiet. Come Friday was different story a group of 20 somethings showed up with 3 rvs and like 15 cars. They spent the day driving around the campground blaring music in cars then would yell and carry on at night until like 2am. They had multiple dogs with them that were all off leash, making it such that no one could walk their dog without fear of a dog attack. The trees hang over the road way to low as a result while trying to get to our campsite the limbs tore off a vent cap and scraped up the upper part of our brand new 5th wheel. Overall the park is clean and quiet ( during the week). Great place if you have a tent or smaller camper that is not as tall as a fifth wheel. Dont know that we will return due to the damage the trees over the road caused.

Very quiet underutilized campground; less than a handful of campers here on this early April weekend. Attendant said its rarely more than 60% full all season. Many lakeside campsites are first come, first serve. We chose #1 to avoid the strong south winds. No TV signal, ATT cell and WiFi adequate, water good, dump site easy to access. Very private, but little to do here but enjoy the beautiful lake. No hiking trails.

Trees need trimming. I was driving around looking at camping spots and low hanging limbs tore small hole in my roof. Finally backed into camping spot and over hanging limbs rubbed top of camper.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
