One of the best campsites there. Nice and spread our from the rest of the campground. Don't be fooled by the location being close to the water-side. There is tall brush blocking the view of the closest shore line, but you still get a beautiful sunrise over the lake looking towards the East. There are stray, aggressive dogs roaming around the entrance of the campground so BEWARE. Overall well maintained and quiet. Campground staff will ride around one a noisey golf cart that will sometimes get annoying and disturb your peace. There is a trail nearby, but couldn't get to it because of the dogs. Bathroom sites are as clean as they can get. Would stay again.

We always enjoy our time at Sheppard's Point!! It's a nice quiet campground with very friendly camp hosts! The grounds and shower houses are always clean. We like #20 because it's close to the bathroom and the swim area.

Labor Day weekend and they hadnt mowed in probably 2 to 3 weeks. Tall grass and goat head stickers everywhere. This was at the tent camping sites

Still a scrappy little campground. Hardly any campers at the end of August. The restrooms were clean except for that they were very buggy. Still a layer of dead bugs *inside* the soap dispenser (how does that even happen?). The showers didnt have knobs and seemed non-functional except the next morning someone was showering (?) So, whered they get a knob and why no showers in August (?).

We recently visited Sheppard Point Campground at Heyburn Lake in Oklahoma, and we highly recommend this COE campground. So many State parks and COE Campsites are now using unattended entrance gates, that we were pleasantly surprised to find the Sheppard Point entrance attended by an actual hosta surprise made all the better by the terrific greeting and pleasant exchange with the gate host. A terrific welcome, excellent advice and direction, and an assurance that the host was available should we have any questions or concerns. We had not yet seen our campsitesbut we already liked Sheppard Point.We had rented two sites for a long weekend. We came in from Kansas and were joined by our daughters family from Oklahoma. As we arrived at the campsites, we were met by the Sheppard Point loop host, who was there to offer help in parking our motorhome.The sites we reserved, the adjacent beach, the restroom/shower facilities, and the entire loop were conscientiously and beautifully cared for by the Loop Hosts. We stayed long enough to visit a little with the loop hosts, and to witness the constant effort they put forth to care for the loop, ensuring all sites were clean and reset immediately after the weekend crown had departed. Despite extreme heat that weekend, both were out caring for the campground, facilities, and beach.As we departed, we asked one of the Loop Hosts for directions to the dump station. She manned the water and visited with us as we emptied our tanks. The loop host couple had been there to help as we arrived, and as we departed.We highly recommend Sheppard Point at Oklahomas Heyburn Lake!

The Dobsons has been having family reunions for many years. Our most favorite place is Sheppard Point at Heyburn Lake. Thank you so much for the low cost reservations for such a fantastic group site.

Campsite location was great for fishing. However, the group a few camps down pulled their boats up to the shore and proceeded to troubleshoot their engines all day.

First time coming here. I camped on spot 16. I enjoyed the peacefulness. The first night i was alone there which was nice for a winter tent camping. I think this site is set up more for rv style camping. I had no problem with my toof top tent but ground tent would have been a challenge with the terrain slope. Over all i would visit again in the spring.

The prices in the winter should be cheaper

With a little TLC, this could be a stellar campground. The views of the lake, the trees on the property, and the water and electric hookups all combine to make this a very nice campground. The shoreline could use some cleaning up, though.

Nice overall expeience once I reserved the spot. The problem was checking in. When I enter a campground and there is an actual human at the Kiosk who "COULDN'T" check us in... there is a problem.The QR code on the specific camp site would not let me reserve it. After 15 minutes of frustration I went to the actual Park system site and was able to reserve my spot. What if I didn't have a smart phone? what if I didn't have a cell phone. My taxes pay for this park.. if I didn't have the electronics I would be out of luck. That is totally unacceptable. If there is an actual person at the Kiosk, he should be able to check me in, and if no one was there, then a payment box should be available.

Great time....only issue was the hiking trail was not maintained.
@LoriH2572605 · Camped on Sep 25, 2023 at Campsite #27
While the site had a great viewit DEFINITELY needs some TLC. The fire pit was broken and full of sandbasically unusable. The BBQ grill was full of sticks/garbage. The poor dead tree. And appeared to have not been mowed in weekslong grass. While the bath house was clean, no soap and water at the sink to wash our hands.just a bottle of hand sanitizer.While we may have been able to tell the camp host.or even check inwe never found anyone at the station nor did anyone ever come around. Thank goodness we had our reservations to follow up with.Would I return.yes.the view is definitely worth it. But, I expected more from a COE park in regards to maintenance.

Great place to camp. Bathrooms were not the cleanest but other than that it was great. I would go back

Sites were nice and grass was very well kept. We stayed during the week and the park was empty other than what I assume to be 2 spots taken by folks the live / work there.
@BarbaraB381397 · Camped on Jun 12, 2023 at Campsite #28
The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is that the gate locks at 10 pm. That in itself is not the problem. The problem is it is not posted and had it been we would have planned accordingly. We were in a beautiful site (#28) and other than getting locked out and having to leave our vehicle and walk to our campsite it was a very enjoyable stay. Oh, and the bugs, spiders, and other creepy and crawling insects in the bathhouse was not pleasant but I guess that’s to be expected when camping in a non-commercial campground.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
