Clean and quiet campground. Camped here for proximity to Colchuck Lake hike; also short drive to downtown Leavenworth.

Water at campsite is fully brown so had to go to town to buy drinking/cleaning water.Bathrooms were clean.

We stayed in site 11. This is a large tent only site with great separation from other sites. There is some noise from the road.The water station near by was not working. The other water station was barely a dribble and too far to walk with 5 gallons of water. In the olden days (I've been camping here for 40 years) the wells used hand pumps which worked way better than the current solar powered electric pumps.

Site 14 is very close to the road, so you will see and hear cars throughout the day and night. The site is nice and big, and plenty of room between the sites.

Great quiet campground under big beautiful trees and close to trailheads to enchantments.

Nice campground with some sites close to the creek. Easy access to hiking up the valley.

This campsite is so close to 38 you could spit on them. There were yellow jackets so bad we couldnt stay in our site between 12pm and 7 pm when the sun was hottest. I almost asked for a refund it was so bad. Could barely set up camp to get the heck out of there. Do not recommend campsites 40 or 38 unless you need two sites. 0 out of 10.Went to talk to host to see if we could move as we had a hornet catcher hanging in our site that wasnt helping whatsoever but they werent there at 4:59pm and never saw them because we couldnt enjoy our campsite AT ALL until the sun went down. Couldnt access the garbage can because it was covered in yellow jackets and had to drive to another part of the campground to get rid of it as garbage attracts them. The campground seemed to be fine for everyone else as there was no one camping in our area until late at night and they were gone early. Awful experience. Wish someone had bothered to mention how close 40 and 38 were as you could barely tell which table was yours. Site wasnt by river. Short walk to it though. So disappointed.

Nice and shady. Much cooler than town
@PratikSD4C07B2 · Camped on Sep 5, 2024 at Campsite #11
Poorly maintained facilities. Bathroom was a mess and the potable water barely worked. Our site was right by the main road so we just heard cars go by all night. And on top of all of that, it was more expensive than other national park campgrounds

The campsites at Eightmile Campground are very clean. The driveways are all paved, making camping clean and easy. The one downside I would add is that the water spigots are electrically powered, and very slow!!

Quiet, clean, convenient

Campground was nice in general. Several groups with fires going despite the severe fire danger and fire ban. Camp host/enforcement was nowhere to be found.
@JohnB8383631 · Camped on Aug 5, 2024 at Campsite #21
Hot weather forced us to hang by or in the creek all day which was great. Lots of hornets wasps and flies forced us inside to eat.

Campers clean, plenty of shade during a very hot stretch. The icicle river was beautiful! Plenty of space between neighbors.

Beautiful campground, don't miss the trail to the river, with a small kid-friendly pool to dip in. Thanks to Carol at USFS for helping me with my reservation mix-up -- she helped saved my trip!!

The campground was ok (loud but mostly quieted down around 10pm) until the last night when a huge group moved in next to us and set up 5 tents in a standard site for more people than I could count. Their group also took over 3 other fcfs sites with dozens more people and had a super loud party with music all night and the camp hosts (who were only a few sites down) did nothing about it.

Small tight spots better suited to tents and campers. Very quiet campground, did not see hosts. Pit toilets.
@RebeccaD857325 · Camped on Jun 27, 2024 at Campsite #11
Beautiful and close to awesome trails. Decent bathrooms for a campground. AND, lovely privacy.
@DanielleL60CCE · Camped on Jun 26, 2024 at Campsite #38
This site was awesome!!! Was able to fit 2 6 person tents and a hammock. This site was very private, close to the water and you could hear the river flowing for a natural white noise. Had a great visit.
@LadinaL29742E3 · Camped on Jun 23, 2024 at Campsite #30
Very windy. Sounded like freight trains going thru this site. Little privacy and people were walking thru my campsite. Had to tie and stake everything down.
@JohnW4841416 · Camped on Jun 23, 2024 at Campsite #34
Site 34 is a large wonderful site for tents. It has parking for only one car or truck; no room for a trailer or RV. This site is right on the bank of Icicle Creek which is currently heavily flowing. There are awesome views of the mountains across the creek from the site. It has some trees and is partially shaded. The pit toilets in the campground were kept clean.
@SharonW8755039 · Camped on Jun 21, 2024 at Campsite #34
This campsite is very tight and down in a pit. Almost no where to put up a 4-person tent. The only spot that would have worked was already taken by a 2-person tent from site #32 (the flat tent sight up a slight hill was closer to us than them). Also, the parking spot was barely big enough for our small SUV.

Great for first time campers who love hiking but need to be close to a town. Leavenworth is gem destination.
@Katherine16020 · Camped on Jun 16, 2024 at Campsite #35
This is a DOUBLE site, meant for larger groups. There's no privacy really, but lots of room. Bear boxes were very handy. Firewood was on sale for $10/bundle by the camp host site, self-serve pay box. Wood was replenished each day. The camp maintenance folk were very kind and hard working. The walk to the bathroom is a bit long from this site, at least that's how it'll feel in the dark. No views of the river but you can hear it. Excellent view of the mountain right by the firepit. No water, bring your own.
@CharlieA909496 · Camped on Jun 3, 2024 at Campsite #16
We enjoy this location however the bathrooms were not up to the usual cleaning standards. One of the bathrooms was locked which caused a line to form.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
