Its small, clean and cozy. Water access was only at campsite 1. No camp host. Nice campground road to walk to other campsites. Pretty easy access to river. We stayed at site 14 not near the water. Pit toilets were very clean.

Summer, our host, was fantastic! Friendly. Informative, and tried her darnedest to get the previous camper out of the sight on time. The camp was clean and all was well. Did we mention we loved Summer?

This is a nice place with not too many sites to make it feel crowded. Sites all seemed to have a decent amount of privacy and the sound of the river next to it makes it to where you can't hear much beyond your own site. We camped twice their in the Spring. Maybe the river is less noisy later in the season but it worked well for us. Most sites have plenty of shade. There are 4 vault toilets on site situated at each end. Looked like there was also water from a hand pump available on site.

We had a lovely time on our campsite on the river. It was quiet and the sites are large for privacy.

The campsite was great! The site had plenty of room for multiple tents and still not crowded. The campsite backed up to the Bumping River with and easy access path to a small beach area. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. The campground and toilets were clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back soon!

A great campsite as always. Sites 1 and 2 have the best little swimming hole for kids. Last year we hiked Boulder Cave about 20 minutes east, but this year they are requiring online reservations for the hike, so you have to choose a day and time. Unfortunately we didn't do this. We did however discover Union Falls on the short Union Creek Trail. Great short little family hike with a beautiful waterfall. And of course swimming at Bumping Lake was beautiful.

Great campground, large spaces, beautiful location but would try to get a river spot next time.

HUGE sites, great location... truly great campground (and we can be critical people!)

Beautiful secluded campground - very quiet. No water, the only well is dry, but lower natches campground (~2 miles down valley) had water!

We had booked this campground following all the directions, inputting our equipment length and reading the reviews. We had booked the spot #15. Our trailer is 36.5 ft long. When we got to our spot, there was no way to park the trailer. This spot might be possible for a pop up, maybe 15 ft scamper, but not a real trailer. The grade is steep, and it is positioned at the wrong angle to the road. There was no way for us to turn around, or pull into the loop the other way, and we wouldn't be able to park the trailer no matter what. This campground is beautiful, but very primitive. No running water. The river next to it is nice, shallow, but other than that there is nothing special. And neither of the camping spots in the whole campground would have fit our rv. No campiest on duty. A nice gentleman who was camping there gave us directions to the Bumping Lake campground which is suitable for big RVs, has a dump station, graded paved spots. Luckily, since our reservation was for Wednesday, we were able to find an amazing First come First Serve spot there. But by Friday, there were no spot available at that campground.

The water pump was broken, and the camp host told us when we got there. It would have been useful to know this ahead of time, so we could have brought more water. The "bathrooms" (outhouses) had flimsy doors that didn't close well, and they were buggy. The sites, even the ones that were long enough, were difficult to get an average size trailer into, but we managed to get in by backing down the campground road a ways.

Specious campsites and friendly camp host. Our site had a direct access to the river which was great on the heat wave weekend. Toilet is literally just an outhouse but for one night it wasn't too difficult. The potable water pump is literally in Site #1, so we felt too awkward to use it. Also the downside of a specious campsite is that there are bigger groups - like the one next to us was a really big and loud group with lots of kids who kept throwing footballs into our site and almost hitting us multiple times.

A quaint campground with well spaced and roomy spots. A little tough to get to the river without going through other campers spots though. The river runs pretty quick but there are some sand bars. Hiking and Bumping Lake close by. Beautiful!

Really lovely little campground. We stayed in sites 4 & 6. Site 4 is across from the camp host who was very pleasant. The site has direct sun on the paved pad most of the day. Overlooks Bumping River. Site 6's paved pad is shady most of the day. The picnic table and firepit area is right beside the river which is sunny and really beautiful. Little traffic noise, lots of beauty. There is only one source of water - a large well with manual pump near the entrance to the campground. The pit toilets were tolerable and well stocked with toilet paper. Would definitely stay here again! The camp host had firewood available for purchase, $8/bundle

Beautiful campground! We enjoyed the smallness of it and the amount of space between campsites was acceptable. We were in site 13 and liked being on the end, closest to the walking path between Cedar Springs and American River. There wasn’t a great place to access the river, but with little ones that was OK to just listen to it. Will be back!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
