This is a charming Cabin. It was clean, (mainly due to previous visitors) and double bed was comfortable. The propane refrigerator wasn't working and notification of this would have been much appreciated but want given. The stove and heater were great. Cabin is powered by solar panel which powers lights, and hot water. Both worked fine thanks to sunny weather. It's about 320 sf and roomy for two with a dog. The outhouse is a ways from the cabin. Good weather made it a great trip. Hope the refrigerator can be fixed and we would like to return.

Better than the pictures show. A very comfortable place to stay. Bed was great as was access to hot water and shower. Nice hikes in the area . Loved the log book people have eft notes in and the cards and games in the dresser at the foot of the bed. Made for a good read during periods of rain .

My wife and I have booked several of these NFS cabins over the years. This is the most remote - about an hour to anything like civilization. The grounds are fantastic, with a big fire pit, seating, and a picnic table, right beside the babbling river. However, there was a burn ban on during our visit, so unfortunatetly, no fires. The cabin setting is nice enough, although it was surely much nicer before the surrounding forest burned, 8 years ago or whatever. The weather was nice for the first couple of days, but then the winds changed and the wildfire smoke blew back into the Entiat Valley. The day we left it was getting really bad. We enjoyed our stay, although the cabin itself has some good and bad points. The solar power for lights and hot and cold running water is a big luxury for a cabin like this, as was the little shower house. On the other hand, we found the bed to be pretty uncomfortable, and the cabin was pretty dirty when we arrived. It's always hit or miss with these places, depending on how meticulous the previous renters were. Overall it was a great visit. We'd tried to time our reservation for peak fall colors, but we were a week or so early, probably due to the unusually warm and dry fall. Also, I would have avoided this weekend if I'd known it was deer hunting season. The adjacent campgrounds, and the whole valley, were extra busy, filled with big trucks and ORVs kicking up dust.

Cabin is a great get away and is nice to have a kitchen and showers. Beds are not great and only made for one person not two. I brought my tent this year and slept much better. Easy to get to and lots of firewood.

There was a lot of firewood, but most of it was wet and unsplit. The cabin was moderately dirty, with dust and cobwebs in the corners. The couch is very old and noisy with a very thin mattress. There was no water in the cabin, the shower, the outside or any of the nearby campsites. It's also unfortunate that the heater was shut off as the nights were fairly cold. The gas-powered refrigerator works very well though

Very cute and comfortable cabin. I will return earlier in the season so that I can use the outdoor shower! The deadbolt on the door is treacherous, keep the key outside just in case it locks by mistake.

First the negative: Booked 3 nites, but left one day early due to the heater not being set up for Fall weather (pilot light not lit which is done by FS). Also it rained the first nite and there were leaks (puddles) in front of kitchen sink area an small puddle on kitchen table. The cabin was also dirty, the info book does not make user responsibility clear. We cleaned range top, swept and cleaned off counters and kitchen table. There were no sauce pans, made do with frying pans to heat food and water. Now the positive: the hot water (shower and kitchen sink) worked great as did the range and oven. The double bed is comfortable. The cabin is in an interesting area, seeing regrowth after the Wolverine fire of 2015. The location is good for many hiking possibilities, for example 8 miles RT to Myrtle Lake with little elevation gain.

Loved being at the cottonwood cabin. Just wish the area hadn't burnt as badly as it was. There are a couple of things I think would make it a more comfortable cabin; Replace the log table and chairs with normal size. Also the same with the beds. Not very comfortable sleeping. Very hard. We had a wonderful time there. Thank you for allowing us to spend time in your cabin.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
