Salmon La sac is an amazing place to visit this place offers an incredible blend of beautiful scenery and vibrant wildlife. The campground is situated between 2 beautiful rivers which has lots of Salmon.Unfortunately these was only one water pitch.

After a horrible experience at Wish Poosh two weeks prior, Salmon La Sac was so great. Site 44 is one of the best sites there. The camp hosts were friendly, the sites and toilets were clean.

#42 campsite is the most serene, peaceful closest to earth you can be. We reserved this spot for our 4th Anniversary. This will be my favorite spot. We will definitely be coming back yearly. Thank you Salmon La Sac

Loved the sites, quiet and private. Wish you would post which water pumps work at the reader board upon arrival. Everybody was asking each other, and some responses were there is not potable water in the campground.

We LOVED our weekend at Salmon La Sac Campground. We got site 44 next to the Cooper river and it was lovely relaxing to the sound of the river and dipping our paws in when it was warm. The site is very sunny. If you’re staying in this one, bring your pop up tent if you have one. 44 wasn’t the most private but not terrible. Site 43 looked fantastic but there isn’t a ton of privacy between 43 & 44- would be good to book these two neighboring sites if you’re going with a group but there are other sites in the campground that would fit a huge group without booking multiple sites (eg site 36). We had trouble finding drinking water. There are no maps around the campground which was weird. There are hand crank well pumps but sparsely located around the campground. The closest we found was next to site 56. The water came out… not the clearest so we opted to stop by “the last resort” convenience store down the road to buy extra drinking water (but I’m sure the water is fine). Pit toilets were clean. Camp hosts were friendly. There were NO mosquitoes which was fantastic. As others have reported, there are bears in the area- I’ve never seen a bear trap before but they had one set up near sites 31/32. (Photo added) The swimming holes were pretty crowded the weekend we went (2nd weekend of August) so we went down to lake Cle Elum. We were too nervous that we’d get stuck driving onto Speeyli beach so we drove to the wishpoosh boat launch to go swimming. The lake is down to 20% capacity so the boat launch is closed but we parked there and walked .3 miles to the water and had a beach all to ourselves for a few hours! There is a ton of dispersed camping in the area if you don’t snag a site. We really really loved this campground and will be back. I almost want to gatekeep but I also know how much this type of review helps me when planning. I love knowing exactly what specific sites look like and I wish everyone would share a few photos or videos of each specific site because the recreation.gov photos don’t help much. We did not have any cell reception (T-mobile), but did have service at Wishpoosh. Road in good condition. We were in a Tesla. Most sites had long driveways suitable for RVs and trailers. Happy camping!

I had a great stay here, the camp host did an excellent job keeping the sites clean and keeping campers aware of bear activity. Good swimming holes for the kids.

The campground was quiet and relaxing on Sunday through Wednesday but became pretty noisy over the weekend. Our site was well-shaded and we had lots of privacy between us and our neighbors but sites by the river was situated closer to each other. The location of the campground with access to both the Cle Elum and Cooper rivers was ideal during a hot summer day.

The campground needs to do something about the bears.

We always enjoy our family of 32 camping trip at Salmon La Sac. Weve been coming for 33 years! Since the bears seem to be knowledgeable with coolers, which we are diligent to put away each night in out vehicles, could the park provide bear boxes? It is difficult as we get older to keep lifting our food containers into our cars. It would be much appreciated.

Had a great 4th of July weekend here at Salmon La Sac. The campground said it was full, but I feel that at least 25% of the sites sat empty and that was probably because of the high temps. So it was super quiet, had great neighbors, and overall, it was a great time even though it was in the upper 90's. Camp hosts were seen all the time and they kept things in great shape. We go here every year around this same time. First time in site 55 and it was a good site, except it was a little narrower than we have had in other sites, but that didn't ruin our good time. Both rivers were a good place to cool off. Need to be careful going back and forth from the campground because up the road about 1/2 mile there are tons of people walking or doing U-turns around the corner, so you have to go slow down the road to the campground. Once again, it was a great time.

Lovely campground. We arrived earlier than our check-in time and found the campground quiet, shaded, and overall very lovely. Our neighbors arrived a few hours later and fired up an extremely loud generator to power their camper. I asked the campground host what the rules on generators are, and apparently this is allowed until quiet hours (10pm - 6am). However, the generator kept going until after 11pm when they finally turned it off. Really put a damper on what would have otherwise been a wonderful camping experience. PLEASE OUTLAW GENERATORS or put some sort of time limit on how many hours per day you can use. It sounded like someone was power washing all day. :(

Nice campground with easy access to trails. Bathrooms were the cleanest of any campground weve ever stayed at. No potable water during our stay for some reason. Plan accordingly.

Salmon La sack campground is My favorite for this region. It is clean, well-maintained, has spacious sites, rivers running on either side of it, a beautiful trail system nearby, Smooth campground roads for kids to ride and scooter, and hand pump water and toilet bathrooms.

Salmon La Sac is our favorite annual family campground. We go every year even with our dogs, little kids and travel trailers. Love the quiet and weather was perfect this year - week before 4th of July. Not too hot and not too cold, but it does cool down at night which is perfect.Bathrooms are clean with toilet paper. Nothing worse than not having toilet paper, ha, ha.

always a good time at salmon la sac. campground is spacious, rivers / creeks close by for cooling off or just peaceful sitting and reading or visiting or meditating. Great trail just a 4-5 mile drive away is Cooper river trail. park a car at the salmon la sac horse camp then take another car to the trail head and have a delightful 4 mile downhill hike to horse camp.

Beautiful, spacious sites. Beautiful spot between the Cle Elum and Cooper rivers with plenty of river access.

Me and my husband had already reserved another spot for a few days but wanted to come up a day early so we reserved site 39 for a night. This was our very first time here and we absolutely fell in love with this campground. This site has a private little beach by the river, but the site itself is smaller than most others. Only take away is the little beach. We definitely will be staying at other sites thought out Salmon La Sac because there is a lot of really good ones!! Overall quiet, clean campsites, well maintained, vaulted toilets are some of the nicest weve used..(appreciated those camp hosts) just a beautiful campground! Cant wait to come back.

Because there is no internet at this campground, it would be helpful to have the weather posted at each self-pay location in the campground.

Campers in a large RV next to mine ran the portable generators 24 hours a day. It would be nice to have a rule saying they should be turned off between 11PM and 7 AM.

The toilets were very clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Our site was roomy and felt private.

Great campground. It was quiet when we were there though plenty of occupied camp sites. Great to be on the river and near the swimming home. Hike to Cooper Lake was not hard and well worth it.

We love Salmon La Sac. Not everyone likes being off the grid with no reception, but we adore it.

Camp host very helpful and friendly. Warned us about bears and keeping clean camp. Forgot how we can hear Seattle airport jets taking off up and coming down. Lots of hikes to do, and going up to lake. Nice to see people riding their bikes in campground. Beautiful campground and area.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
