Old scrub brush and volunteer tree growth in road ways making turns too tight for long rigs. No one there for check in and no map to find your camp site in entry area. Truly a self service, campers leaving at dusk, not the given checkout time(wonder if they paid at all).

Very clean, quiet campsite. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a chill spot.

What the other review said is correct. Also the bathroom doors have wooden shards coming off it. It cut me.

We occupied site 13 for one night while traveling. I have to say this is the 1st time I was not impressed with a COE campground.The site's listed length is not realistic as it has such a sharp curve to it. Also, one side of the curve is a hill and the other side is a dip. We eventually found an angle that would allow our 25' TT to set level but then had to use extension cords for electric.Oh well. Otherwise the park was clean and quiet with a good dump station. We did not have time to tour the whole park.

Beautiful campground. Only there one night but will definitely return.

Very nice campground. The Baldhill Dam next door is a nice visit and worth exploring. There is a nice boat ramp and fish cleaning station just down the road from the campground. Fishing is good in Lake Ashtabula. Caught a nice variety of fish including Walleye, Perch, Crappie, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass abs Bullhead Catfish. The visitor center is worth a look and The Hungry Pelican has great ice cream, a limited menu of food, a Bar and Bait for the anglers.

Site was very tight with little to no patio area. Based on the map I was expecting some view of the water, very disappointed. Of all of the COEs we have stayed at this one was a real let down.

Lovely campground and grounds, pristinely maintained! We really enjoyed our stay here.

I enjoyed the spot I was in, but I did not enjoy the GPS making me go 10 miles on a muddy dirt road to get there. I feel thats important for people to know. I was there and I think there was maybe one other person there in the campground besides the camp host never saw the camp post. Come check to see if I was supposed to be there. Nothing. I didnt enjoy being able to pop my back doors open to my van and not have anybody staring in, all I saw was a beautiful lake, but its not what I have to go through to get there. That will be my one and only time at this campground.

Stayed for 1 night. Was a nice site, pretty open campground, if you want privacy, you may not like it. The campground host was great, he gave us all sorts of info. Brought us some firewood so we didn't have to go back into town to get some.

Quiet. Nice sites above the lake. Be prepared for lots of flies though.

It was very quiet. Our site was a nice site near the end of the park. Only 3 or 4 other campers so it was super quiet. The night sky was beautiful...dripping with stars. Bathrooms were remarkably clean.

Nice relaxing weekend. Corn hole and ladder golf was fun. Great temperature for a fire. Clean bathrooms and nice water system. Great trails nearby.

Beautiful Setting right on the lake. The power source was good and the space large enough to handle my class A. Camp host was very friendly and informative. Shower/Lav facility was close by and was clean. The dump was close as well with many trash cans. The visitor's center was very informative and the small cafe/bar/store had plenty of stuff for all needs.Internet of course was a little spotty up at lake Ashtabula but the scenery was well worth it. Recommend the Starlink dish if one wants good internet while at the park. Valley City was 25 minutes away with stores and places to eat.

Older campground. Sites level with plenty of room. Washrooms clean, but old with some odor. Easy access dump and water fill.

Clean, quiet, and great place to camp
@KarenB2737002 · Camped on Jul 1, 2023 at Campsite #24
Site 24 is located at the end ( map is inaccurate) - you have to walk thru sites 22 and 23 to get to it which was uncomfortable. There is no separation between campsites or privacy. The ground was very uneven and chunks of dirt piles along the way, large piles of leaves in 24. 25-27 are not located next to 24. 21 is at the end of 22 thru 24 by parking area and road

25’ truck camper plus Jeep fit fine on site 1 with electric. Beautiful lake. Bathroom has flush toilets and showers. Okay clean. Dump station with water.

We only spent a night here while traveling through so we didn't utilize many of the amenities. Although it was a little hard to figure out, we saw that there were first come sites so we drove there to get one of those. When we got there a sign said you had to secure the site online. But there was not enough cell service to do that. I tried to call the reservation number but couldn't hold a call. No ranger or host around to assist. Took about 45 minutes to finally get the reservation to go through. Nerve wracking! Nice and quiet spot.

Wal in sites 25, 26, and 27 are not located as shown on the map. They are all located off the back of the parking lot to the Hungry Pelican. The location was great for our family. The sites were still quite secluded from the rest of the campers and day use areas.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
