I LOVE Cochiti Lake!I had the most relaxing and peaceful time with the BEST views. The bathrooms were clean, camping spot for RV immaculate, offering 5/6 water stations to fill up, and not too far off (on the right side exiting camp, across from Ringtail Cat Loop) is the dump station and FREE. For $12 a night, it is worth every penny and then some.To Note: If you plan on going paddle boarding or kayaking (any water sports), it might behoove you to have an additional vehicle, as it is not in walking distance to carry/transport them. You will not regret staying here!

Very nice camp sites.

Disappointed. Have stayed here many time but this visit the bathrooms/ showers at Buffalo were very dirty, no toilet paper, paper towels or soap. One bathroom at boat dock closed other one dirty. When leaving found the dump station very full and unable to dump. Tried the upper station and it was locked. For it being a long holiday weekend expected things to be in better condition.

Restrooms were clean. A lot of action throughout the night, not the most quiet campground.

The new RV camping section with electricity / water is beautifully done. Campsites are set well apart from each other to give proper space between sites. Good asphalt roads and asphalt RV pads. Beautiful roofs covering tables. Odd mini streetlights at each site that do not work. Sites perched on gentle hill with very good overview of the lake. I wish all lake campsites in the state looked this beautiful. The old west side camp spots are just that, old style and bit of an eye sore and not well layed out. The east side of the lake - Tetilla Peak, the road is horrible!! Full of big potholes. Not RV friendly and recommend only driving in a truck with good suspension. Campsites were closed. Park Ranger said they had plans to open soon. From what I could see looked similar to westside old campsites.

Nicely designed newer sections of the campground - still seemed to require a lot of leveling work (by us and others). Paved roads throughout the campground for exercise walking or biking. Some additional gravel trails are also available. Park staff only visible Friday through Sunday when activity/traffic is heavier. Lisa at the main entry kiosk was super friendly! We saw a work crew come through to clean restrooms, showers, and shade structures but scattered trash throughout the grounds didn't seem to get much attention. We stopped into the visitor center and learned that many nearby roads had been closed off due to fires. Also, the nearby Tent Rocks National Monument was closed indefinitely.

Nice lake and not crowded during the week. Electric worked good and the water was not too far away at the spot I picked. The price as always, was right for a stay at a nice place with water and electricity. The lake looked inviting but I didn't swim.

Some sites on west side, such as juniper loop seem to have dated facilities or need for upgrades. The RV dump station near Juniper Loop was locked at the actual dump station but no signs were posted. Did not know out of service until began hooking up hoses.

Weekends were very busy and I could not sleep. Some people staying up until 2 in the morning or starting their generators early in the morning.Camper support is limited or non existent. Bathrooms were generally clean but not always.This is an ideal place for during the week or off season. It is way too busy on weekends or holidays and is a terrible place to be at those times.

The campsite was beautiful. Wish there was direct access to the lake. The sites are close together so we could hear everything the next site up was saying. No shade trees so nothing to put a hammock on. Lots of millipedes which we enjoyed watching. Camp check-in was helpful and nice to chat with.

Very nice rV park! However, the volunteer host was absolutely not up to the job. Nobody was answering the phone. Her comment was that she blocked numbers she didnt recognize. Seems she felt she just got free room & board. Should really screen volunteers better and provide better supervision.

This is such a nice campground! The tent pads are made with pea gravel, which has to be the very best substance to set up a tent on! We slept great on this! The only trouble we had were people partying with loud music and women cackling after quiet hours. There didnt appear to be any campground hosts anywhere, nor any rangers driving through. We were invited to join one of the groups playing loud music, but we really just wanted to get to bed since we needed to be up early for a long driving day. Thankfully, all of the different groups settled down a bit so we were able to get to sleep by midnight.

Nice area, close to the lake, close to golf course and it was an easy drive from Albuquerque. We had power hookup which was nice. There is water close by.

We made reservations almost last minute that resulted in us having to move 2 times during our 6 day stay. We liked the section that had water and electric at each site. There is a beautiful view of the lake. The campground is very convenient for day trips to Santa Fe and Albuquerque. It is also a very good spot for an overnight for travel days. The ATT connection is very slow and difficult to use for streaming and at times just access to the internet.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
