The campground was fine and good, but there was a lacking of info on how to get there. The website did not have a detailed address, just Bandalier Natl Mon. and "Juniper" CG and Coyote loop. We navigated to "Bandalier National Monument" hoping/thinking/assuming it'll take us near or close to the Juniper CG. Or get some hints along the way. We got way out of the way and had to doubleback a few times, down very dark deserted roads, and at the Los Alamos entrance gates too. There were many physical signs on the road showing "Bandalier..." leading us in the wrong direction. We FINALLY had to call recreation.gov at 11pm and TG there was someone there. They gave us the ACTUAL ADDRESS: "15 Entrance Road". Navigation then took us right there, no problem. We were like 10+ miles off. So, I'd suggest placing the address: "15 Entrance Road" on the website and to be included in the "reminder" emails we rcvd. UGH!!!!! STRESSFUL!!!!!

Great, laid back campground with really nice facilities.

Beautiful, peaceful. A long drive (or hike) to the visitor center. Nice bathrooms. Most sites require some levelers.

campground is conveniently located in the Bandelier National Monument. It is very clean with a bear box in every site. The restroom is very clean and heated. I definitely will come back.

I never realize how beautiful this area was. This campsite is just amazing. They rest through facilities are just super clean and heated. I cant ask for anything more than that!

The site we reserved was going to be difficult to level in, so we found a site in the first come, first served loop that worked much better. Consider the $$ a donation. We were happy to have a place to enjoy the spectacular stars and a lovely campfire. The bathrooms were super clean and the host was a joy to chat with. Very close to the main hiking sites and FIGHTING hard to keep our National Parks open and staff employed!

Juniper is the best campground I have been. Toilets are comfortable and super clean with heater, toilet paper. A plus is sink for dish washing with hot water. Campsite is spacious, beautiful, with picnic table and bear box.

Very clean campground and bathrooms. Super well taken care of. Even on a cold night the bathrooms were warm and in good working order.

Beautiful place. I walked the trails to visitor center. It is a few miles , saw coyote.We liked C loop. Bathrooms were clean and heated. One issue we had was finding a Laundry facility. None in Los Alamos. We gave up as we did not want to go to Espanola.

Very nice spots for RV boondocking. Water is not close to sites & might need up to 4 hoses to refresh tank, or carry bottles back n forth to add water if your stay is longer than 2 days or to have handy for campfire. Clean restrooms/good lighting & dish washing sink. Well manicured grounds. Food lockers substantial to protect from Bears. >Bears & rattlers active.< Picnic table & fire pits large areas behind each parking/camping lot very spacious! Dump station adequate but pull-through narrow. About 3 miles from visitor center. Evenings very quiet for 10 occupied spaces near us.

Nice campground. Bathrooms were very clean and also heated, which felt great since it was cold the day I was there. Great view of the dunes from the campground as well.

This was our second visit to Juniper CG, Coyote Lp specifically. Id like to give our experience a 5 star review as the CG itself is really nice, with good amenities and site layouts, as well as a wonderful visitor center and hiking options. . However, it is time the parks get onboard with generator loops, and non-generator loops, or at the very least, short generator hours for 2 hours am, and then 2 hours pm. A few very large rigs squeezed in Coyote and were allowed to run their generators for 12 hours non-stop. Not only its the noise, its inhaling the smelly fumes all day. Most people come to camp in these parks to get away from city noise and traffic fumes and enjoy nature. A big rig next to us left his generator running even when they were not around at all, all day. It really spoiled the vibe for us. Also, it took 2 days to get soap in pthe womens restroom even after we mentioned to the host it had been empty all that day. The restroom floor in Coyote was littered with toilet paper scraps and forest litter the entire week we were there. Mens too. Other than those two gripes, we thought the CG was very nice. The shade in Coyote was a welcome relief on the hotter days. Water spigots had good pressure, and the trash was emptied regularly. The sani-dump was kept clean as well. Could have been a 5 star if not for allowing generators to run for 12 hours, and not having a loop designated no generators.

We had a lovely and peaceful campsite in early October when the weather was just perfect. Wed love to go back!

Juniper Campground was nicely appointed and maintained. Tent sites, unsurprisingly, tend to be sun-exposed. Bandelier Nat'l Monument was an unexpected treat, with its sightseeing among cliff dwellings and other insights into the history of this region.

Loved the Frey trail down to the ruins and park cafe. Great weather.

We had a great stay here. It was perfect for our young family. Bathrooms were convenient and clean. The proximity to Bandelier National Monument and trails was great. We even had an accident and needed medical attention and the camp hosts were very helpful and directed us to the closets ER. We had a great stay and will be back.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Bandelier National Monument and Juniper Campground (Coyote Loop). Bathrooms were clean, sites/fire rings were in good condition (considering the recent heavy rain), decent spacing between sites, good water access, etc. We most certainly will return in the not too distant future. Great access to Tyuonyi and Frey Trails, too. The only advice I can offer for sites in any of the campground loops is to pay close attention to the size restrictions at each specific site. We have a 17 trailer and a couple of the sites we thought would work for us turned out the opposite.

Beautiful facilities, very clean, very polite campers. Just a few of the campsites have tall trees, so definitely bring shade if you're camping in the summertime.

Bandelier never disappoints. It's been a few years since we've camped at Juniper. Beautiful, clean, and quiet, though the sites are pretty close to each other, making privacy hard to come by at camp. The firewood is advertised as $1.00 per "stick". Be assured that they are full size split logs and they have a relatively long burn time. Definitely worth a buck.Be sure to check out the Tyuonyi Overlook Trail. It's a mostly flat and easy 2.2 mile round trip hike with an amazing reward at the end.

Clean facilities and very good cell service. Met a cool dude who told me about the right spots. Dont know if it was just my time there but it was the most quiet campsite I have been to. Slept like a baby.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
