Check in was easy. Host was ok, but moody. We have been going to this park for many years. I have never been told that if my dog continues tio bark we would have to put her inside our camper! We do not let her bark out of control, just be aware if you take a dog.

We love coming to Cagle. It's close to home, beautiful tall trees, lovely sites. Rangers were very nice and attentive. One issue was disappointing Friday night after we had gone to sleep. Airboats revving their engines for about two hours next to campsite. No one could sleep through that it was awful. Rangers told us that Cagle couldnt do anything about it and that it could happen any night. I almost said we should pack up and just go home. But we had planned this trip for a long time and decided to stay. The next night we heard the airboat once and the night after that none at all. It is a shame that a few airboat people can Make our peaceful outing so miserable the first night.

Pros: Quiet, Clean RestroomsCons: Small campsites, right over one another, no cell reception (tmobile), pesky raccoons (tried to get in our tent all night long even when leaving site super clean overnight), no communication from anyone, the precious tenants overstayed - had to be kicked out, leading to us waiting to set up. Our site was the most private which was enjoyable...but those raccoons.... good grief.

Camp site had plenty of space. Facilities close by (were always clean and well stocked with TP). Fishing close by. My only complaint is the boat ramp. People were revving their boats to load up until midnight. I swear an air boat was right outside my tent at one point. Team no sleep. Did not care about no Verizon coverage because nature. Maps provided at check in could use an update with an estimate of how far the trails are.

The atmosphere was incredibly calm and peaceful, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. The restrooms were exceptionally clean, which is always a big plus when camping.One of the highlights was the hiking trail nearby, offering beautiful scenery and a great way to explore nature. Jessie, who was taking care of the site, was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed.Overall, a fantastic experienceI would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor escape!

We were there for a few days with our grandson for spring break, as always, had a great time. The park host were very nice and friendly. Bathrooms could sure use some updating. Not sure who is responsible for cleaning the ashes from fire pit but we had about 6 inches in ours. Site was'nt cleaned up very good either.

We stayed at Cagle for 2 nights. Fire pit was nice, neighbors were friendly and respectful. No problems with the excess noise after bedtime. Restrooms and showers were clean, but floors were damp. Hosts were nice and helpful. Nice trail right by the campsites, good for a family walk. I would stay here again. Did a short backpacking trip on the Lonestar trail that was a short drive from the camping area.

The spaces had plenty of room between them . Lots of room to setup. The only drawback was that the driveway wasn't level and it was a challenge to level the trailer.

Great place to spend a week at

Hosts both Lee and Jessie were excellent! The sites were large and the campground mostly quiet. Only drawback was really no cell service. We have Verizon. Didnt use the bath house but did a peek. They were clean but definitely could use some updating. Would camp there again if in the area.

Nice park, I liked that the camping area had plenty of space. Bathrooms were average. Could use some upgrades.

Campsites we clean and well kept.Bathrooms need repairs on interior doors and shower.Checkout time of noon is too early. I was there for a fishing tournament that lasted until 3 on Sunday .

Most sites are not level. There should be some kind if boat n vehicle parking by your paid sight, especially if those vehicles are registered on your reservation system

We did a quick overnight stop on the way back from Galveston to Plano in late February. The weather was cool, but we quite enjoyed our stay. The park is wooded and right next to the lake with comfortably sized campsites and full hook ups. There is a small boat ramp and a nice courtesy dock. We enjoyed a short walk on the trail that starts near the dock. We both wished we had more time to stay and explore the area. It was very peaceful.

A beautiful lakeside getaway for my girlfriend and I. We had no complaints with the facilities, and our host Jesse was very helpful. Would definitely like to come back (maybe on a less rainy weekend!)

Loved Sam Houston national Forest. The peace and quiet of the campground and riding my motorcycle on the multi use trail. Loved being in the piney woods if only for a couple of days.
@JohnH2789214 · Camped on Feb 6, 2025 at Campsite #8
The campground is surrounded by the Sam Houston national forest. Other than the occasional noisy speed boat, it is very peaceful. There were some issues with the hiking trails directly around the campground. Some of the trails were closed due to foot bridge problems. The facilities are fairly well maintained and everything works in the restrooms.

Great campsites. Clean and level. Camp hosts were very helpful and courteous. I really enjoyed staying there by the lake. It had beautiful sunsets every night!!!

3 star is a stretch. Our campsite was on the water, which was nice, but there are only a few of those. Fairly decent walking trail. But that's the only highlights. Camp host was very invasive, and not helpfull. No firewood available for sale, no soap or toilet paper in ladies bathroom. Notified the host, and his reply was "it's on order". Overall neutral experience.
@GailC1925799 · Camped on Jan 25, 2025 at Campsite #25
Camp Hosts Jessie and Lee were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They were very visible around the loop making sure all was in working order and the sites were clean. The area is beautiful. A nice walking path by the lake. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the campground. Bonus was the sewer connection that you don't typically find the these forestry sites. We'll be back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
