Spacious campsite; I couldnt hear music or conversations from neighboring sites. Running water to wash dishes along the main road. Trail around the lake was about 45min walk and very pleasant. The bathroom facility near site 15 was nice but the one near site 6 was closed. We enjoyed the wooded location very much!

Campsites and restrooms are clean. Lake is overgrown with vegetation and fallen dead trees need to be cleaned up along the lake trail.

Great area.

The park isn't as busy in the winter time but they had a couple of very large groups there that left early due to rain. One host said around 180 tent groups with lots of children. Even after the group left I was so impressed with how clean the restrooms were. Of course the facilities are old, but they are very well maintained with the hostess group in place.

Lovely campground. My only complaint is that the bathroom closest to my campsite was closed.

We had a great trip to Double Lakes and really enjoyed our visit. The only negative for this trip was the poor cell service and having to search for and area where our phones would work.

Double Lake is a gem within a reasonable drive of Houston. the lake is nice with a foot trail around it and the other mountain bike trails are well maintained and marked. I just hope this secret can stay as it is for many generations to come.

Although the weather was dreary it is a nice campground. We hiked the asphalt path around the lake. The bathrooms were clean.

This is a really nice campground with a nice walk around the lake on a paved path. Pill through sites are long enough for big rigs. The restrooms were clean. We stayed in site 32 with our 40 5th wheel and we had plenty of room. The site was a full site with a fire ring and table close to trailer. The bathrooms are not a long walk. We saw some deer on our walk as well as a Bittern. We will be back.

This is our second stay at a National Forest in Texas. The area has a lot of trails and opportunities for biking or hiking Some camp sites has FHU available We were met by a slightly rude Camp host. He had more comments than suggestions. Some trails and campsites were very challenging due to not being level or up keep. The facilities are older and not well maintained

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping experience at Site 32 in Double Lake. The site is a large pull through with full hookups, and is relatively level. The site was cleared well for our visit, the bathrooms were in great shape and cleaned regularly, and we enjoyed hiking the trails through the park. The Park Hosts were very friendly, and were able to answer any questions we had about the park.

Beautiful day at the park. Well maintained. Friendly people (both employees and hosts). We had SO much fun! If I need to rent a pavilion for a picnic again, I will DEFINITELY come back here.

Campsite in great shape. Bathrooms clean. Hand dryer in bathroom did not work, but paper towels were provided. Would like to have a map of the trails in the area.

Best trip ever. The maintenance is so much better this year and will be back next year

The park is beautiful. Well managed and public use areas are always kept clean. There seems to still be alot of felled trees from recent hurricanes...so firewood is readily available around every branch...lol. We really enjoyed our time spent here over the Thanksgiving week.

Very noisy campground and some maintenance issues. Two different camp sites had the same family and the music was so loud so late! They were even walking the trail around the lake with a big rolling speaker. We spoke to the camp host but nothing was resolved. And the light over the restroom was very bright which we didnt mind at all but it was going out or something because it was like a strobe light all night. Trails were great and we enjoyed the walking but overall not at all a relaxing experience.

Great place to tent camp, very friendly camp staff. I stayed there for a hunt along the Trinity River NWR.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
