Lovely campground with water and electric in the Dogwood Loop. Sites were gravel and easy to get level. Biking in the campground was fun. We were dodging intermittent showers, so didn't get to explore the hiking trails. Views of the water were pretty.

As usual, the Sawmill Loop Group site was in great shape. Our Scout Troop had a great time. Adverse weather simply challenged the youths skills in camping in drizzly cold. The only unfortunate part was the restrooms. 2 out of 4 were locked, and the other two had broken hinges on the toilet seats, We will be back again in the future as the young people count this as one of their favorite camping spots. Thanks!

Love this place! Bathrooms are always clean and the camp grounds are well maintained. Normally never have any issues, this last visit only complaint was other campers showing up in the middle of the night making a bunch of noise. The same thing the following night, same group yelling and screaming at 2 in the morning.

Very nice site. Water was a little far away but not too bad.

Saw my first ever wild lions mane mushroom growing right out of a tree, and it was the size of my head! Super peaceful stay, we were about the only ones in the primitive camping, and that was fine by us!

Not all of the restroom/shower rooms were unlocked. Shower rooms had no heat in December. Many sites had no water hookup, many sites required more than one hose to reach the water hookup. Trails were well maintained. Sites were spacious and well shaded.

Nice and peaceful time. Been coming since the 1960s. 3 generations. Only complaint is we didn't see a Host this time.

Nice and quiet, so serene. I wish we could see the lake from the campground.

The spots were nice but the bathroom was not. It was not cleaned the 6 days we were there. No toliet paper so we had to bring our own everytime we walked to the restrooms. Floors were HORRIBLE!! Showers were HORRIBLE!!Plus alot of Spiders and Bugs in there also. Not sure we will go back.

Spacious shaded spots are great. Spot 36 could use some leveling. Park is clean and quite. We heard highway traffic while outside but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Very spacious campsites. We were at a site with water and electricity for our trailer. We use Starlink and were able to find a break in the trees to connect easily to internet. The bathrooms were clean. Lots of walking trails to walk the dogs. Would love to come back for a longer stay in the FALL. The weather was perfect. Warmish during the day and cool at night, but not so cold you couldn't sit out by a campfire. Staff was friendly.

My family loves coming here. The camping areas are spacious and well taken care of. We do wish that the playground had more activities for the littles. The lake is easily accessible. There is plenty of hiking trails and shade galore.

Patrick and Tuck, the park hosts, were very nice and helpful. The park was very nice and the bath house was always clean. I really enjoyed it here. I especially enjoyed the wildlife, I saw a nanny deer and her baby fawn was nursing. I was able to get a picture of the 8 point buck. I would recommend this park. I stay here every year around deer hunting season .

Honestly, I was here a few years ago and the park host was downright rude. My last visit and I met two different host, and they were absolutely awesome. There was a storm overnight and they came around checking on the guest the next morning to make sure everything was ok. The campground and bathroom facilities were clean. Only downside is the fire ants. Them little stinging rascals are out of control! Welcome to East Texas.

Emaculately clean restrooms. Quiet campsites with a few exceptions. Friendly staff. Well run campground.

Did not know that there was a burn ban and that we were not allowed to have a campfire.

Visited end of October. Beautiful park, lake and campground. Bike around with my kids and it was just so calm and relaxing. The forest is just so beautiful and quiet. Highly recommended. Definitely a revisit for me.The restrooms here are SUPERB! nice, big, and clean. Individual stalls with shower in each stall... how great is that?NOT a complaint, but the campground spots are a little close to each other with clean line of site, but people are very quiet and respecting so big deal. Still coming back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
