Staff was rude and loitering in the bathroom at all hours of the day, making my children and myself very uncomfortable. They clearly singled my group out mind you my group was special needs children and a dog. The attendant pressured us to cancel our stay and refused us entry of the park even though we had payed for and reserved camp sights. The ada sight was not accessible to the spring and the spring is not accessible at all.

Great campground: level paved sites with spacious backyard, smart and sanitary sewer hookups, beautiful swimming area

Salt Springs is a favorite camping destination for our family. The campground is well kept and the restroom facilities are always clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The campsite infrastructure (water, sewer, electric, paved RV parking, etc.) is in great condition. The springs which are a short walk from the campground are beautiful and a lovely place for a picnic, which we did on this most recent visit. We look forward to future visits for relaxation and enjoyment of nature.

Camping area was nice. The reason why we are not going back is because the camp host told us to keep the volume low when it wasn't even quiet hours yet. Other parks' quiet hours start at 11pm this one was at 10pm.

This is the cleanest, most well-maintained campground we've ever stayed in! We've been here twice, and both times it was exceptional. The staff and camp hosts were friendly and helpful. We were able to snorkel in the spring, which was really nice, and the cute little town of Ocala is only 30 minutes away.

The springs were closed because of the hurricane, then we were told we couldnt use the sewage!

The campground is great, the staff was friendly and helpful. We were very disappointed that the Salt Springs were closed. We couldn't hike or go kayaking. I get all kinds of emails about upcoming reservations and receipts, rate your experience, etc. When it came to letting us know the condition of the Salt Springs, we got one crumby phone call, and it was unintelligible! We had booked 2 nights because we liked the Spring so much last year. Because we really couldn't do anything on the grounds we decided to just pack up and leave after one night. We hope to be able to use the Springs again some time. If you could give us a raincheck for a future visit that would be nice. In the future when you know that a Recreational Area is really not up to your usual standards I think it is important to send a better message. Thanks for trying, but it wasn't enough.

Park and campground was amazing. Camp stores were sparse and open limited time frame.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Salt Springs. Every site was paved and there were many that offered full or part shade. Facilities were clean and accommodating.Staff was friendly. We will be back.

The biggest thing to know is if you camp over the weekend, campers are not allowed to park at the springs. And believe me, theyll know, you cant . Park police are everywhere, at the springs, the campsites with so many places struggling with being understaffed thats NOT a problem at this campground. Its quite a long walk from campsites to springs. Someone can drop you off, but of course then that someone either stays back to pick up later and that person makes the walk back to the camping side. Throughout the weekend they want those parking spots open for day users. Theyve already got the campers money, they want all the day users they can fit in that parking lot. When I complained about this I was told it was a curtesy to campers that we were able to go into the springs free and not pay day user fee each day. That they were actually 2 separate parks and if they chose to could make us pay spring entry too. Other than private campgrounds, this was the most expensive weve camped at.

We really enjoyed our camping trip to Salt Springs and truly hope they can find another vendor to take over the park or it closes in December 2024. Swimming in the spring was wonderful! The only negatives were not being able to get cold water in the showersone temperaturehot and we experienced two temporary brown-outs with the electric. Otherwise, it was great and we really hope to be able to camp here again.

Five stars for the campground. It was excellent and the full hookups were a definite plus. The sites were spacious with a few trees and well maintained.Three stars for the springs. Felt like just a big swimming pool surrounded by concrete.Pizza place across the street was great.

Doubled the cost for camping since COVID and no upkeep of the grounds.The wood stairs to enter the spring are rotted and blocked off from use. What about Handicap access?We stayed from June 29th to July 7th. The grass wasn't cut when we arrived. I have a small dog, and it was difficult for him to walk through the tall grass to do his business and then to have to pick it up was also difficult.The bathrooms were not kept clean. The first night, there was a toilet backed up and dirty shower stalls.I have been camping here for the past 40 years and I will NEVER camp here again!

Great facilities, perfect spots with full hookups, the spring is beautiful to swim in. Had a great time here.

This was a great place to snorkel around with the kids, or just float on a tube. The full-hookup campsites were pretty open. Many spots have shade, but not all. The facilities were clean. I had been here years ago, and this is the first time camping at Salt Springs. It was relaxing and enjoyable.

Love Salt Springs so much. The campgounds are the best of Florida in my opinion. The springs are so inviting. And the people who work there are always friendly and helpful. Hope to be back even more as we retire.

Campgrounds ,springs and staff are fantastic! I am a snorkeler and enjoy snorkeling the freshwater springs in The Ocala National Forest ,which are all within a half hour driver of this recreational area. A few state parks with springs are also near by. We enjoy this place very much.

It was okay, barely any other campers. The creek was a nice touch I didnt realize you could swim in. Check yourself for ticks I found an adult lone star tick on the bottom of my sock after getting back to my tent from swimming.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
