We had zero issues locating the site. Basically, you just look for the boat ramp and turn left into the small parking lot. The rangers put 4 orange cones with Reserved sign in our parking spots. So super easy. Everyone after the 4th car had to look for parking on the first-come basis, which was somewhat a hassle, but doable.The large shaded pavilion had 3 picnic tables, a couple benches and an assigned water spigot. Bathroom was nearby.The site is not directly on the lake, the lake access is probably 20-30 yards down the path. The lake is visible from the site. A short walk away is a boat ramp which make is very convenient for putting in boards and canoes.This day use site is way more private than the amphitheater one. People are walking by not right through the site like in the amphitheater. The picnic tables and benches as well as shaded area are great as well.The only downside is limited assigned parking and no direct waterfront. So there are pluses and minuses but all in all - great experience.

Lots of trees, smallish lake but wonderfully located. Decent cell phone service.

We stayed in site 18 and fell victim to the unmarked steep drop off in the parking area which left our car damaged and needing to be winched off of the rock it was stuck on. This really needs to be marked better and/or a curb to prevent cars from rolling over the edge while parking.The hosts were great and supportive.

The campground hosts had no control. There were 12 empty spots on Saturday night, why didnt they make them available? The fee for the xtra vehicle was cash only, no hang tag or proof of payment was given, I was sure they pocketed the money. They tried to tell us only 2 sleeping tents are allowed, never heard that one in the 30 years I have been coming here, we ignored the rule and hosts did nothing. This place was well managed in past years, not so much this year.

Some lingering trash around common areas after busy weekend. Bathrooms clean and mostly functional.

Great spot for swimming, kayaking or fishing. Not a clear lake but still great for swimming. Very nice that lake has no Motor Boats.

Trillium campground is PERFECT for access to one of the most popular lakes in Oregon & Mt. Hood. Lots of sites with 1 pit toilet and water per ~10 sites. Sites vary from big enough to support big campers to only tent sites. Fire pit, tent pad, charcoal grills, and picnic tables all included in each site, no electricity access. Other campers were friendly and mainly kept to themselves, lots of families and dogs. Close to government camp if you need anything last minute!

Amazing double campsite. Private, close (but not too close) to two bathrooms, and walk down to the lake. Loved it!

The campground has lost some of its charm over the years. The grounds crew who trims trees just leaves the branches and debris on the ground so you have to clean it up if it is in the way. It also seems like a massive fire hazard. The campsite itself was horribly undulated which makes putting up a tent difficult especially if you have more than one tent. Our campsite had three massive holes by the picnic table. They were fixed when we were there but only after we asked. Also, the camp host entered our campsite on more than one occasion without asking if she could come in. She should ask before entering sites.

Slight issue with reservations but hosts were great and found me another spot. Great campground with amazing views of Mt Hood over the lake.

While the views were absolutely spectacular, the campground management was nonexistent. We stayed for 3 nights. After showing up, it rained the first night. We looked for the camp host to try and locate some firewood. We walked the ground 3 times, and all 3 hosts' sites had a sign "off duty" on them with no host in sight. We drove 20 minutes to buy some firewood.On the second day, a host stopped by our site and asked if we needed anything. We explained what happened the night before. She apologized, said that we are lucky that our site looks the way it does because just a few weeks ago we wouldn't even be able to start a fire because our firepit was full of ashes. After that encounter, again, no host in sight for the rest of the trip.On day 3, toilet paper ran out in all nearby bathrooms and it was clear that they stopped being cleaned on day 3 as well.We camp a lot, this was the most poorly managed campgound I have ever stayed at in California, Oregon, or Washington states. A shame because the scenery is gorgeous.

Was much better than the last couple of years. Nice to finally have the trail fixed. Our campsite was good but a family members picnic table was broken and they complained of bathrooms running out of toilet paper.

Although the site was nice and we loved being there, it was extremely irritating that the water was not usable while we were there. There was nothing on the forest service website or the reservation details. We could have planned had we known ahead of time. Instead I get an email the day before we head home.

We love camping at Trillium Lake. The campsites are big enough. The lake is beautiful and the sky at night is amazing! Watching the sunset on Mt. Hood and star gazing is a must. The bathrooms were kept clean. There were chipmunks that would run around our site. We enjoyed watching them. We could've done with out the carpenter ants though. This was the first time I've seen them. We took a trip into town for something we needed. I can't wait to come back!

Reserved the Day Use site for an end of the school year party. There were not clear maps or signs at the entrances to the park on where we should go. We walked around and found a covered picnic shelter, but there were no signs indicating that is was the Day Use site. Another group had set up there and we talked to them about our situation - we had a reservation for a Day Use area and these seemed to be the only structure to fit the description, but they brought up it wasn't marked and couldn't be sure, so we ended up sharing it with them. The site also claimed to come with 4 parking spots, but none were available or marked as going with the Day Use area. Overall, not worth the fee - not easy to find, no ranger nearby to ask for info, not marked, not easy to get to, no clear directions for the group to find it.

We were told the management of the campground changed hands and the previous management failed to winterize the campgrounds, so the pipes burst. Therefore we were without water. The pit toilets were pretty ripe but decently cleaned and stocked. I liked our spot, even tho it was a wee walk to the lake, all the waterfront spots have the a trail running thru them so there is less privacy on those.

Nice campground, but be aware that there is NO WATER. As of last weekend when we went they were fixing the water lines. There was no notice till you got to the faucet that the water was out. We had to drive to Still Creek Campground to fill up our water jugs.

The lake and campground and hosts were great. Major complaints are the amount of dogs that are off leash mostly from the day use people walking the trail. The dogs run ahead and enter campsites while the majority of campers actually follow the rules. We had over 5 different occasions where dogs came into our site during our stay. While my own dogs were leashed in our site. Also a few campsites thought it was fine to leave their dog off leash in their site but when walking our dog leashed around the road, dogs would run out onto the road from campsite. I understand when people feel their dog is friendly and would never hurt a fly however they dont know if the dog on leash is not as friendly or may have fear aggression, if everyone could just follow the rules it would have been more enjoyable. The camp hosts did the best they could to enforce the leash law but they cant always see what is going on.

Overall, we enjoyed our 2 night stay. It was quiet, spacious, and the outhouses seemed well maintained. Unfortunately, we had to clean up a bunch of scattered trash from the previous users before settling in. Our first night there, all the water spigots were turned off with plastic bags wrapped around. No one had emailed about disconnected water, so we had to go back to town to stock up on bottled water. The ranger station knew nothing about water troubles at Trillium, and they recommended we ask the camp host about it. The camp host was not in their designated campsite and was nowhere to be found. Luckily, the water came back on in the middle of our second day there. Be prepared to not have the amenities they say they'll provide...

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
