Took a midnight kayak on the lake, awesome (literally) view of the stars and Milky Way.

We camped at frog lake for first time for 3 nights in mid August (last year we only got to use day area, thats why we decided to try camping following year). Unfortunately this is the season of fire ban.Easy to navigate to from Hwy 26. Road is very bumpy.Our site was #21 which was pretty good, has direct path to the lake, many trees to hang hammocks . Bathrooms are super clean and well maintained. This campground has well water that you need to manually pump. Couple points about the water, its hard to pump it, need to have several pump attempts before water starts flowing, well by site #21 has non-clear water and I had doubts about using it (see picture). I was getting ready to go to closest grocery store to buy water but noticed the well by hosts site produces crystal clean water. Keep that in mind.VERY IMPORTANT: if you are a light sleeper, take earplugs, hwy26 traffic will keep you awake

The water pump was too hard for me to use. We had to go to another campground to get water. The lake water was very silty and the lake floor was very squishy. The campsites were very large and spacious. The view was beautiful and the wild native blueberries were fun.

Nice clean campground. Loved the shaded campsites. Host, Andrew was exceptional. Very informative and sociable. The road into the campground is very rough though.

Nice rustic campground. Dont expect to access the lake from the campsite, it is too shallow to launch a kayak near the campground. you have drive around to the West and South side of the lake for better water access.

Camp hosts were very nice and keep the restrooms very clean. Well water came out brown, Recreation.gov says potable but we didnt risk it

Overall the campground was clean and could easily access the lake which was beautiful. The restrooms were very basic but clean. Overall pretty close to what I expected for a campsite with no hookups etc. No frogs unfortunately. It was pretty cold for summer.There were a couple yellow jacket nests around our campsite. One of my kids and I got stung about 5 minutes after arriving. The water was very difficult to manually pump from the ground. I was expecting a spigot which I've seen in most other campsites. This was very old fashioned.I also booked a site paying very close attention to the map. I have 2 little kids that just wanted to go to the lake all day so I booked what I thought was a site closest to the lake but it was about 5 or 6 spots away from the one I booked. Not sure how that happened.

I have to say that I love Frog Lake, it is one of my favorite places. But camping here really bummed me out. The bathrooms were a gross mess with garbage overflowing, the dumpsters were the same. Hopefully next time it will be better cared for.

No cell phone! Yeah!!! Osprey catching fish daily. My granddaughter having the time of her life. Rustic campground.

Frog lake, well was quiet nice and quiet, except for some campers, but thats expected. This is only getting 3 stars due to the amount of bees at our site. We think there was a beehive on site but we couldnt let camp host know since they were never on site when we were there. Also, would have been great to know that frog lake was extremely low. Pavement in needs redone big time and bigger arrows to campsite. But other wise was good time.

It was beautiful! The little frogs were there, and the weather was actually kind of splendid. Some scattered drizzles off and on and made for a nice get away from all the heat wed been having. We were next to the bathrooms a bit which were quite smelly and our camp neighbors were sometimes a bit loud at later hours of the night. All and all the visit was a great get away from city life and I would go back again. Frog lake is so close to other amazing lakes and trails. Very accessible but quite a few pot holes coming into the camp ground.

This is a delightful campground with a good location for exploring Mount Hood. The lake is small and shallow but good for children. Expect some muddy areas. The campsites are mostly pretty spacious. Restrooms were clean. Nice hike to Twin Lakes is nearby. Nice view of Mount Hood from the Day Use Area.

The campground was well maintained and the lake was nice. The only negative were noisy neighbors that you could hear shrieking and laughing throughout the whole campground. I'm not sure why the camp host didn't speak with them.
@AnneF6212939 · Camped on Jul 30, 2023 at Campsite #32
The road to get to - and around - the Campground is "paved" but in atrocious condition with deep potholes that are hard on a car let alone a trailer/RV. Once off the highway, directional signs to the campground would be helpful. We had an idea where to go but because of the road condition and lack of signage, seriously thought we had taken a wrong turn.The Camp Hosts were great... very friendly and informative. The Pit toilets were well-stocked with toilet paper and in good condition. The sites closer to the lake are more packed together than the others. Our site had a good mixture of sun, shade and privacy.

Staff was friendly and informative. Sites were clean. Restrooms were also clean and well stocked. BR's are built in a way that stay warm in the middle of a cold night and let few pesky bugs in as well. Overall great first camp at Frog Lake. Will be returning again in the future when there isn't a fire restriction for a fuller experience.

Camp host does not help manage the BANNED fires and "quiet hours." But, other than that nice camp spots and clean bathrooms that were decent, which was nice.

Amazing place. Everyone we talked with were very friendly and the campsite and outhouses were extremely clean. Loved the rustic campground and the fishing was a blast for being this late in the season. Definitely going back. Thank you to the camp hosts for everything you do to keep this place a real gem.

The campground is quaint and charming. Not too much road noise despit proximity of the highway. Good access to the undeveloped side of the lake. Campsite 3 is a little cramped and has a lot of roots at the tent sites. Also right across from the camp hosts, for good or ill

Camp host wasn't there but the camp was clean and busy, the lake beautiful and our site was perfect...there was a fire ban but I saw several camps with fires blazing away

A wonderful campground and lake for families with small children. Facilities are in reasonaqbly good condition. The road in from the highway has a lot of pot holes and is very rough. Otherwise a pleasant place to relax and enjoy nature.

We had a great time here! The campground was pleasant and clean, including very clean bathrooms. It was super easy and fun to take our kayak out on the lake, and we enjoyed seeing the tadpoles and tiny frogs. The mountain view from the lake was so beautiful. Also the camp host Crystal was friendly and welcoming :)

Shout out to the staff at Frog Lake Campground! My friend and I went on a 6 day/5 night, 75 mile backpacking trip on the PCT. Our first night, Sunday, Sept. 11th, was spent at Frog Lake Campground, site 33. So nice to have clean facilities and grounds. Thank you to the staff!

Roomy campsites, nice privacy, clean vault toilets, not great water pumps. Easy access to good hiking choices. It’s been so dry so it was pretty dusty. Campground about 1 mile from very small Frog Lake. We took our kayaks to Trillum Lake to get some good paddling.

We lucked out and had a cancellation site which had a private path to the lake and it was a HUGE site. There was privacy with trees on all sides of us, so our fellow campers were not too close.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
