Court Sheriff Campground, Helena, MT

Court Sheriff Campground in Lewis and Clark county is located just 29 min east of Helena, MT with an elevation of 3,827 feet. There are a total of 48 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to mid September. 41 sites can accommodate RVs between 30 and 100 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $15.00 to $30.00.

The host Christine does an excellent job. Everything nice and clean and orderly. Only drawback was proximity to the highway, with lots of truck noise at times.

Clean, quiet, pleasant. Surprisingly few mosquitos when we were there, near the end of August. Very crowded. Nice and dark at night - not a lot of lights to shine where you were sleeping.

Our site was a little too close to the main road located just outside the campground, but that was a minor irritation (we recommend the sites in the 20s along the water). The camp host deserves a ton of credit for setting up the campground so beautifully. Our site had been raked and the firepit cleaned out so thoroughly we might have been tempted to eat any food that fell in it! The pit toilets were the cleanest I've ever seen anywhere. Thank you to them for going the extra mile to make the campground so hospitable.

We were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the campground was. We enjoyed watching families and pets enjoy the water and time together. Our campsite provided us a bit of privacy even tho it was right on the highway. It was easy to find a place to fill the tank with fresh water. We used the bathrooms once and they were sparkling clean. We cant wait to go back.

nice area, stayed 2 nights. more for local families than travelers. Highway noise. was traveling through would probably spend only one night next time.

Nice campground. We camp during the week and it is quiet and relaxing. Fairly level sites we stay in site either 9 or 6 good view of the water. No boat ramp so no busy traffic.

Very nice, extremely clean site. Paved with clean bathrooms and attentive hosts. Wish day-trippers wouldn't park in the tent only 36-39 spots. Makes it difficult to get your things in and out. But I'll be back again.

Nice campground. So glad it hasnt turned into a trailer park like a lot of campgrounds have in this state. The sites were cleaned up and the water was close by. A little noisy during quiet time but otherwise a fun 2 days.

The camp ground is run down trees dying. Weeds everywhere! The camp hosts were nonexistent hardly saw them never talked to them.

Great spot on a nice little bay. Super clean bathrooms. We have been going to hellgate for years, but this one might be our new favorite because it has TREES!!

I am finding it difficult to make reservations. I attempt the minute it is available 6 months out and they are all gone. Also, people are not arriving or staying the first few nights they are booked. Somehow, there needs to be availability for general public.

This was a nice private site at the end of the campground with a great lake view. Some of the more central sites were a bit crowded but 09 was perfect. Just down the street is Kim's Marina where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards and pontoon boats and find all the supplies you need. Helena is just a short drive away and is a great little town if your looking for a break from cooking.

Nicest campground on Canyon Ferry. Clean vault toilets no trash except micro trash that we gathered up at our camp. There were a few instances of dogs not tied up and one encounter with our dog. Beautiful views.
