It was nice and peaceful. The few people camping were very polite and observed all rules. It was a wonderful experience and always has been.

Packed like sardines! We were flanked by 3 other campers so any views were of their camping experience. We only stayed one night.

Cons: NO SWIMMING SITE HERE. We had to go to the lake to swim. Be advised, only fishing and boating on this part of the river with no access to swim/wade in the water. Broken glass in sites, overgrown grass in our loop.Pros: Everyone was friendly, hiking and biking trails nice, plenty of trash cans around. Great fishing access. Good prices at general store nearby (3 min. drive). Lots of birds to observe and listen to!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The sites are spread out quite well, and you have some room between campsites. Its mostly level and easy to set up and hook up. The roads are all paved. There are lots of hiking and some biking trails at the park. Good fishing at the spillway and on the river below the dam. They don't have sewer hooks ups, but a two lane dump station that is well maintained.

Nice camp out! Wish spots were full hookup or at least all had water and electricity!

Great hosts and volunteers. Clean. Beautiful bike path. Beautiful Black river below the dam, but river was too high to float.

The host is great. We had trouble fitting on the campsite that we reserved. She helped us figure out where we should move to. The area is quiet and peaceful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night visit. This was center stage for the eclipse event. The park was full and I'd guess there were at least 1000 people there. Lots of children and families.

Bring your kayak/canoe, bike or walking shoes. There is lots to do here besides sitting and relaxing. Campground was well kept, bathrooms were ok.
@AllenaY04EE214 · Camped on Apr 7, 2024 at Campsite #A33
Well kept campground provided us an excellent place to watch the 2024 solar eclipse, see birds and other wildlife, and walk along the lake.

Nice quiet campground close to the river. Plenty of space and two playgrounds for the kids to play.

Excellent park down from the Dam of the River. Very well maintained and nice sized spots. However there is no cell service and we had Verizon, ATT and US Cellular and no reception from any. If you need to make a call you just have to go up to the top of the Dam which is less than a mile.

Well maintained & well shaded campground. I had a bit of a problem with the hook up with my 30A power cord. The shower house was clean but needs a bit more maintenance.
@AllenB076B6AE0 · Camped on Apr 5, 2024 at Campsite #B24
We had an excellent time! If there were full hookups, that would be wonderful! I realize that would be costly though. We do appreciate the senior discount that the corp parks offer! It helps us out tremendously! Thank you!!
@TerryW7794324 · Camped on Apr 5, 2024 at Campsite #A44
Went for the eclipse. Family shared two sites. Wonderful experience. Well cared for, clean and quiet even when full.
@MattM4094344 · Camped on Apr 5, 2024 at Campsite #C7
Our site was a little tight but we were with our neighbor so it was nice. Cleanest bathrooms and showers I've seen.
@SharonG7476078 · Camped on Apr 4, 2024 at Campsite #B28
We always enjoy our stay at River Road Park! The park is well-kept. There are different kinds of sites for campers...pull through, extra long pads, and some with water hook- up. The 2 large pavillions are awesome. We have been there twice when it rained for two days. Our whole group gathered there for the day and aa great time!
@JamesH5800718 · Camped on Mar 21, 2024 at Campsite #A38

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
