The person working the booth was very helpful. She showed me how to change my campsite in the app to a different one that had become available. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

All sites are pretty private and have views of the water. The grounds are clean and well kept. The swimming area looked fun , even just watching kids play. It was a lovely and relaxing .

The pavilion and grill were very clean. Parking was ample for the guests.There was no trash can at or near the pavilion.

Nice campground and the marina is a big plus for this campground.

Stayed one night-clean, quiet, enjoyed the beach (bring water shoes as it's rocky).

Cape Fair has always been our favorite campground. Finally got site 21 and loved it. Hosts have always been extremely nice.

We were in site 8. Great views of the lake. There is a very nice swimming area that has easy access. There is Plenty of shade. Campground was very clean. We have ATT and the WIFI was basically non existent. Could hardly connect at all. Not sure if it was because of the storm they had earlier in the week or if it is like that all the time. Our only issue with site 8 is that it shares with site 9 and can be really tight trying to get in the spot if another camper is already set up in 9. They are both pull through/ back in (because they share). We were happy that we got their before those using site 9 and glad they left before us otherwise we would not have had the room to back our truck up to hook up to our camper. Overall, I would stay there again. But, maybe choose a different site because of the tight space. However, we do prefer pull through over back in, still learning that part of camping :-)

Wow! I was there on July 3rd when the storm hit the marina and campground. We left early on the 4th because of the storm but Im so impressed with the speed that help came in and started cleaning up the mess. Im sure the campground was probably cleaned up by the end of the day and the electric service came back on by 9 am. This is always a nice campground and what an experience it was riding out a tornado in a camper, not one Id ever like to repeat but this is a great campground.

I can't wait to come back. The lake is magnificent. The marina pizza shop has amazing food!

Campsites were not as clean as in the past as well as the bathrooms. The cleaning attendants were more interested in entertaining their relatives that were in the campsite next to us.

good place, waterfront site

The campground cleaning attendant did an excellent job and was friendly. Campground was cleaned of trash/litter everyday and bathhouses were very clean. Great work!

We have stayed at Cape Fair COE campground 3 times now. Its great!! We did have trouble backing into our site #20 because we had a bike rack on the back of the 5th wheel. But that was the extent of any issues. We will be back Im sure.

Excellent experience! Well maintained park. Bathrooms are older and hot, but clean and with flushing toilets. Cell phone service was decent, but no WiFi. Loved the marina store, coffee/ice cream shop, and Pizza World at the docks. Nice swimming beach. Buy wood at the little liquor / grocery store in Cape Fair right before you turn onto Shadrack Road - great value!

Since the change in staffing at the campsites the amount of rudeness and those disobeying the park rules has gone up drastically! People not obeying the driving and parking laws are the worst we have ever seen and there isnt anyone correcting them. On our last visit we were walking on the road by the bathroom (which was one way) and a truck gunned their engine and sped toward us coming the wrong way. We have always camped at the Army Corps sites and spent a lot of money since here since we purchased our camper. We highly recommend you go back to staffing the campsites with park attendants full time. We hardly see anyone working except for a few cleaning staff and the occasional person at the booth for the few short hours they work it.

well maintained and clean

There is no emergency warning for this campground. This is the second time this year we were in a severe thunderstorm without being notified it was coming. There should be sirens and perhaps a loudspeaker. Aldi, the bathrooms need some ventilation with a fan. They get so hot that I also passed out while trying to use the toilet.
@BryanM7662998 · Camped on May 23, 2024 at Campsite #46
Overall we love capefair but the cleaning needs attention. The showers was disgusting and never got cleaned while we was there. I went down multiple times to check. The park Rangers need to check and make them clean them. And my thoughts if they do that how clean is the bathroom really. I wouldn't recommend going to take a shower here at all.

Appears to be a great group of regulars staying at Cape Fair. Nice place to swim and launch a boat. Make sure to be as self sufficient as possible, its a steep curved rode out of the area. Be sure to walk around and get to know your neighbors. Enjoy the outdoors.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
