We have stayed here twice, both were just overnight trips, a stop on a longer journey. This looks like a park that we would like to spend more time at. Our last sight was so level we didn't need to unhitch our trailer from our vehicle, nor did we need anything to help level us. Driving around the loop on our way out the next morning gave me a quick view of a park that looks like it is well cared for.I gave this CG a 4-star rating because it only had electricity and water, but not sewer. I know that many COE CG do not have sewer, but some do, so those who do not cannot earn 5 stars.

I absolutely loved it there. Anita and Jackie, we're the best host and anyone in the front booth were awesome. I was on the lake and my whole experience here was great. I have to return next year

What a delightful spot to escape! We tucked in after a couple of days travel and stayed two nights near the end of October. The campground is clean and well maintained. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We will keep Whitten Park at the top of our list for stays when passing through this part of the country.

I was in site 59. To access this site you have to back down a lane then back into your campsite. This one is right next to and at right angles to 60, which is the end of the lane. Unfortunately campers in 60 viewed the lane as their private drive and not only was my camper requently blocked by their parked vehicles but my pickup truck was as well, limiting my ability to get in and out of my site. As to the site itself: full shade, slight view of the water through the trees but looking across site 60. Long walk to bathrooms, which were clean but no trash receptacles as you are required to pack and carry all trash yourself. I was there over Halloween weekend. Many of the campers were decorated and there was an organized party of sorts including kids trick or treating around the loops, which was a lot of fun. Overall, a pleasant stay.

What a beautiful campground! We found Jamie Whitten Park/Fulton Recreation Campground in Fulton, Mississippi, by accident. We were traveling home to Arkansas from Tampa (post Milton), and just looking for a place to stop for the night. I found this place on RV Life. This is a COE (Core of Engineers) campground. Cost is very reasonable ($30. / night) if you are a senior and have a senior Federal park pass, it's only $15./night. We are staying for 3 nights! This park is located on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which is a lock system joining the 2 rivers. So the park is right on the water. Our space is about 50 yards from the waters edge. There are several docks and boat launches in the area, and a Marina is about half a mile down the road. There is a public boat launch and several picnic pavilions before the entrance to the park. Really, you need to check this place out! There are spaces for RVs, trailers, and tent camping. Most (maybe all?) spaces have electric and water hookups. There is a dump station on the way in. All spaces have concrete level pads. There are large green spaces for kids to play and extra parking for extra cars. There are nice restrooms and bath houses on each of the three loops, with abt 20 parking/camping spaces per loop. Also, there are bike trails as well as walking paths to the docks and waters edge.We stayed in space 9 on the first loop. It's a nice large pull thru site. We're looking forward to going back.

The gate associates were very friendly and courteous even though I arrive a little early for the rather late 4 pm check-in. The park was pretty well maintained. The paved area for parking is rather narrow but we managed even with a pretty high drop off around the site ( # 18). Oher than that we enjoyed our stay.

Park's host was rude.Park has camping spots too closely located to each other.We were told we would have to change spots because we were not in the right one, so we left during the night.I will never go back to this campground.

The park is in desperate need of updates. The trails are overgrown . The what used to be beach is now grass the piers are rotting. The bathrooms have no or almost no shower curtains and part of the showers barely work . We hadn't been in a few years and we're surprised but because we love it there we will continue to go but hoping for renovations. Desperately needed

Overall very nice park, though it could use some upgrades. The wood 'patios' or whatever you call them on the sites are starting to deteriorate, as are the steps down to the waterway. They could also fix some of the site pads which were cracked and unlevel, though ours was fine. But overall a pretty spot, and very nice camp hosts/workers. Not much to do in the area so we just relaxed.

Facilities were not in working order. All toilets were clogged. Garbage overflowing. Hosts let encroaching party of 20 on next site over to swim without a reservation. Park rangers were overbearing and harassing ( 20x a day drive bys) because I reported the encroaching non payer parties they let in the gate. It is not a secure place. It is not a clean facility.

Beautiful park and friendly staff. Lots of vegetation around the campsites, however, and we were there at the height of the mosquito season. Literally kept us and our dog inside most of the time. Would love to go back when the mosquitoes are not so aggressive.

Easy in and out, very clean park, friendly hosts, lots of good shade and it was welcome in August 2024. This was not our first time and will not be our last time to stay at Whitten Park.
@JeffreyW413498 · Camped on Aug 1, 2024 at Campsite #27
Great little campground! We were really happy with the size and layout of our site. Our site had lots of trees and was a really level campsite, with a great living area. I think this campground has a lot of potential but does need a little work. With that being said, I do know renovations are scheduled starting next month. We are excited to come back and see what all has been improved. Hopefully all of the wood structures are updated or replaced, we would like to see more areas accessible to the lake. From our campsite, we could see the lake but wasn't easily accessible. The paved pathways need the overgrowth cut back and maybe even some re-paving in some areas. The bath houses need the most updating. The stalls are a little small, and the shower's need some updating. But overall, a great place!! Highly recommend! During the renovations, I would recommend Piney Grove Recreation Area just North of here.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
