What a great place! We travel between Portland and Sacramento a lot, and have to stop somewhere in the middle with our travel trailer.We've camped in Roseburg, Gold Hill, Ashland, and Redding before, but we've added Red Bluff to our list. The camp hosts were very helpful.Sycamore Grove is flat, pretty quiet, somewhat spread out, and has lots of trees. We were in a bit of a hurry on this trip, so we didn't get to hike or bike the many trails we saw. There was lots of space in the middle of the campground to walk our dogs.We stayed there twice in November, and really appreciated the heated (through the floor, I think) restrooms. However, they were always out of towels.There is no trailer dump station, but there are several in town, including a free one at the Tehama County Fairgrounds, when it's open.

Only stayed the night but it was a great find. A nice location close to the freeway and the river, not noisy and very well kept. The host was great and helped me sign in and find my account on Recreation.gov that I had forgotten I had. It's a great stop off spot on the way North from the Bay Area or a place to stay a few days which I will do next time.

The bathrooms and showers very clean ( showers not hot enough for my liking ) , but was still a very nice clean place. I would deffently go again .

Beautiful spot! We loved hiking the trails in the area. The oak trees are epic.

The CG looks like a city park that someone built campsites in. Lots of green grass. Road is narrow and one way and because we had a pull-thru on the left our door was facing into the road instead of the site. There was a young tree in our site with branches overhanging the site making it difficult to get in. There are also lots of low hanging branches over the road. Even at 13ft high we were scraping some of them. There was a camp host and they were nice. Maintenance is lacking here. And what maintenance is done is half-baked. (I wanted to use another word here!) And work done is not to code. Restroom was mostly clean, but no one cleans above 5ft high nor do they properly clean otherwise there would not be hard water stains. You need a code to get into the bathroom. The showers get warm, and take quarters. But there is no sign telling you that it takes quarters or tokens or how many for how long. I got about 4 minutes per quarter. There are tons of hand written (poorly written) signs taped up everywhere. Very unprofessional. The only plus for me was that I did see armed law enforcement rangers patrolling the campground. Made me feel better given the sketchy people coming in. There is a gate that is supposed to lock at night. I even got an email with the gate code. But someone has run over the post so there is no way to unlock the gate and no one looks like they are interested in fixing it.

Very nice and quiet campground. Close to I-5 but very little road noise. Nice walking trails and good restaurants near by.

Fantastic host(s). Friendly, helpful. Very clean grounds and facilities. Well kept. Far enough from freeway - no highway noise. Definitely recommend this campground.

Helped a family of 6 with getting a spot because they were homeless. Wouldnt let me use my discount pass. Like govt needs that money more than I do, or the family! Burnt my paper plates and napkin, was told I didnt have a permit. Then they made it a point to tell me the homeless families spot went against my 14 days so I couldnt stay two weeks. Yep, sorry yall but yall can keep it. Beautiful country, but way too much big bro for me!!

Great place, new to camping so this place really worked out. It's a park campground that has paths and trails along the sac river. I paid $40 for 2 nights and nothing else. Each spot has a water tap, 2 grills (wrist-high grill and one on top-backside of the fire pit), and vehicle parking(park on cemet only). Close enough to red bluff to get supplies and etc if needed but far enough to feel remote. Most people who stayed had rv's but some had tents. The hosts are really nice and helpful where they can be. Make sure to get your campfire permit tho cause they might ask to see it.

Nice place if you need a stop going from Southern California to points north. Clean well kept park with electric hook ups.

Campground is clean and quite , camp hosts are friendly and helpful, the showers could use so work the bigger of the two ( Mens) has tepid water temperature at best , could be rather uncomfortable during the winter months, the small shower ( mens) was adjusted to a warm setting however it is not possible to adjust either apparently and staff are aware of the problem , other then those items its a great place to stay.

Very helpful staff. Advised us if a more preferable campsite than the one we chose. Later they helped us troubleshoot a problem with our electrical hookup cable

The campground is easy to get to off the expressway. Lots of amenities in the area.The campground had a lot of trees, which is nice for shade. The trees were not maintained though and there were a lot of branches dragging across our motorhome as we drove around or within our campsite. Only some of the sites had electric and water, which is a shame because for the most part those were the only ones occupied.There is no dump, which all the reviews indicated that we read. We ended up dumping at a Love's for another cost. This campground is worth doing a few more updates to make it easier to camp here and bring in some more campers.
@CoralRD5ACE6E5 · Camped on Jul 25, 2024 at Campsite #20
It was nice to have showers and flushing toilets. However, there were several people here with RVs in non-hookup sites that ran their generators.

The site was very clean including the restrooms. The camp hosts were really helpful with picking the site, getting me setup with Reservations. Gov, and how to use it after I screwed things up. It is a friendly place.

Very friendly and helpful host greeted me when I entered and informed me about fire warning. She instructed me how to immediately obtain a fire permit online so I could use my BBQ. I viewed online video, took test, and received my permit online within 15 minutes of setting up my camp. Very clean and well maintained campground.

Very quiet but locals using campground without reservations. Saw a small group using the spigots to bathe in and then used a neighboring electrical campsite to charge their phones. Saw some urinating in bushes as they did not have access to secured bathroom. Did not feel very safe. Camp host was aware they were there as she was out watering grass with hose and ignored them. Also, trash in campsite and glass bottles had to be picked up when arrived.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
