I'm going to be honest, this campground left a lot to be desired. The campsites themselves did not have a tent pad and the ground was covered in rocks, roots and a random metal post sticking out of the ground. This made setting up a tent difficult. The fire ring was also very tall which made it hard to start or enjoy a fire as we could barely see it over the top. We felt like extras in a dystopian 80's movie sitting around a barrel fire. The bathrooms were in disrepair with an entire stall door missing and others that didn't close properly not to mention being full of spiders.

Our first time camping and we were so happy! The bathrooms were clean and accessible and the grounds were maintained well! We will be back soon!

The campground was beautiful and quiet with well-kept bathrooms. Our site had a decent amount of privacy and was a lovely experience despite being close to busy life.

The campsite was very good. No frills, but solid overall. Didn't get to explore the park, but we were there mainly for the proximity to the College Park Metro station. It was perfect for that. The only real drawback was that the staff assigned to clean the bathrooms didn't actually do any real cleaning. Saw them come and leave on 2 of the 3 days we were there. They quickly (and not particularly thoroughly) wiped down the toilets and the sinks but they didn't touch the floors. There was a giant hair ball on the women's shower floor that never moved. As a former cleaner, I can tell you it doesn't take much effort to take care of that sort of thing. Other than that, though, decent experience.

Nice shady spot, hiking trails.

Sites were not level, and there was broken glass around that was concerning for playing children. The bathrooms have many broken tiles and spiders living in all corners as of the bathrooms are not cleaned often enough. Great location though, and the showers have nice pressure and temperature.

What was great about this campground was the cost and the proximity to Washington DC. It was very shaded, lot's of trees, fairly quiet. We were able to take a trail to the metro station at the Collge (was about a 30 minute walk), or you can drive to Greenbelt station in about 12 minutes. The bathrooms were always full of crawling bugs. Even though they were cleaned daily, they did not clean out the spider webs, bugs or empty the trash. Definitely need to wear your flip flops in the shower!

DO NOT park IN the campground area! *[steep, rocky decline can scrape (& risk damage to) the bottom of your vehicle].*PRO: plenty of campground space for 2 to four tents.- bathroom close by- friendly park hosts & rangers*CON: parking space too small for 2 vehicles

The best thing was that the bathroom was close by. However, you have to walk a bit to the shower room. Plus, the bathroom was very clean. Although the place to pitch the tent was a little sloped, I was able to sleep comfortably. Also, the camping hosts (grandmothers and grandfathers) and police patrolled, making us feel safe. But one thing that was very unpleasant. Due to a group of guests, I went to A campsite to take a shower, and the camping host grandmother burst into the shower room (not paying attention to me taking off my clothes) and checked where I had made a reservation. Of course, there was no word of apology. It was very rude and I felt uncomfortable.

The reservation process online was super easy and the sites were affordable. The park was super quiet, clean and absolutely beautiful. I definitely plan to camp here again in the future.

I made a same-day reservation and arrived rather late (10 p.m.) to find my campsite marked for me and easy to pitch my tent on without bothering other campers. The campground is well separated from its larger urban context; its beautifully forested and no road noise reached my site. Restrooms are spartan but clean and well-kept. Not that a few of the restrooms lack showers. I saw wild turkeys on my drive out.

Such an amazing place to spend time. Staff was awesome. Facilities were great. Location unbelievable so good. Before visiting, I had never heard of Greenbelt Maryland, now the city and the park are both favorites of mine. Thank you so much!Dave

Great, clean bathrooms with hot showers! Lots of trees and wildlife. The park was not crowded, as only about 25% of the tent sites were taken, giving lots of room in between sites. My only gripe would be that they bounced me from the campground after 14 days, and i wanted to stay for 15 days. So I spent the last day "camping" on the street like a homeless person! They should relax this and allow people to camp for at least one month. Why not? We love the place and there are so many empty places?

Campsite Guide for Loop A (Scout Troops only) was fantastic and a big source of information for the area. The shower/slash bathroom facilities were not adequate for the number or campers on the weekend of our reservations. The building needs to be expanded and upgraded to improve the camper experience. Locations is within 10-minute drive of Greenbelt Metro Station. Overall, 8 out of 10.

We stayed in the group camping loop. Everything was nice, but for a campground dedicated for groups, it would be nice to have more shower stalls and toilets.

I had a great experience at Greenbelt NP.It was my first time there and I really didnt know the campgrounds. I was fortunate I was able to change my campsite to better accommodate my car camping vehicle.

Greenbelt Campground was close to the city but cozy and dense with trees, making it the best place to feel nature near the city. However, the camp fire ring was high, so it was a little difficult to enjoy the fire

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
