Campsite is great. Nice to have two tables. Also close to bathrooms and away from the main road.
@SherilynM8EC5A · Camped on Jul 10, 2024 at Campsite #AMI
There is not a vault toilet near the camp. You have to go up to the main road and use that toilet. Considering it is a group site you would think that a toilet would be close. That is my only complaint...minus the bugs but that is how it goes.

The road need leveled out to help trailers with excessive tipping

this is a nice spot but there is zero shade, we fortunately brought our own. we did have a forest service host tell us that it was only for 2 families even though the web site says up to 40 people, not sure how 2 trailers are going to hold 20 each, either the web site needs to be updated or the forest service folks need updated. The area is absolutely beautiful and I will definitely be in this area much more often.

It was a beautiful place! There were good places to set up tents or pull up campers. Good amount of dead wood around for fires.

Great campsite! We stayed at Group A campsite and it was beautiful. There was a restroom nearby that was very clean and the workers were actually cleaning it when we got there on a Monday. We had 4 rigs with us, 1 40-ft Class A, 2 40-ft Super Cs and 1 35-ft 5th wheel toy hauler and we all were able to make it into the site without too much trouble. The last section getting into the campsite was uphill a bit, something I was not able to tell by looking at Google Earth beforehand which was a little nerve wracking, and the 2nd to the last straight away had a large rut in the road one side so we had to straddle it going up that hill. That was the only scary part but once there, it was a great site!

This was the most beautiful spot (#38)!! It's a huge campsite with lots of room and no neighbors, fantastic view. My kids loved scampering around on fallen logs and chasing tadpoles in the little pond. We went for a walk along the road and a little bit onto the ATV trails for beautiful views. We hiked 2 miles in and then back on the Left Fork of Huntington Trail that is nearby. We love this area!BUT, we arrived later than we planned and it was pitch dark and we could not find our way to our campsite. We wandered around for quite a while and could not find it. We gave up and picked a random spot that was not reserved, then found it in the daylight the next morning and moved. We'd missed the kiosk near the entrance, in the dark, that had a camp map. Better campsite number signage would've been helpful. We didn't have cell service to look up a map. I think I'd print one out at home ahead of time next time.The flies at site 38 were super frustrating. The spot was absolutely beautiful and wonderful but the flies were really a pest. I'd look for some way to ward them off next time. And it is a bit far from the toilet. But, I loved the seclusion and the setting.We also really enjoyed driving along Hwy 31. The whole area is just beautiful! We camped down in Forks of Huntington campground last year and did the full Left Fork Hike, took about 4 hours from top to bottom (much of it in the rain but we had a blast -- glad I'd packed rain ponchos). Gorgeous hike and tons of fun! The canyon and the national forest are a hidden gem in Utah!

Bugs were terrible. Biting flies all day long. All of us went home a day early with 40+ bug bites.

Cons- Mosquitoes terrible- used repellent aggressively yet still got many bites. Very Dusty and dirty. Stayed inside trailer for meals due to dust and mosquitoes. Left a day early. Pit toilet a long walk from campsite, usually drove to it. Pros- Campsite large, private and secludedScenic drive beautiful Nice tables and fire pit- shaded in the evening, brought a canopy to have shade during day. Many scenic atv trails- although hot and dustyCleveland lake looks close on map, yet its a steep hike to get to. We drove to Huntington reservoir to kayak and loved it. Less mosquitos there.

Lots of big trucks doing construction on the dirt road we were camped on. Starting at 730 in the morning there was lots of noise from the trucks. Definitely not the peaceful get away we were hoping for. Hoping there is a way campers w reservations can be notified in the future - we would have cancelled had we known. Thanks

while there are vault toilets, they are nearly a mile from some of the campsites making it very inconvenient

Would really like cell service. Fire pit was almost too full of ashes. Great spot. Great weather. Serene and heavenly area.

Lake Canyon Rec Area is a great place to camp...not a bad site in there. Thanks to the Forest Service for all their hard work.

Our favorite place on the mountain. Clean camp site and restrooms. Lots of trails to ride sxs, motorcycles and 4 wheelers. I would recommend it very highly.

My family has been going Camping the first week of August for the last twenty years. The fresh air, rain and beautiful scenery is well worth the six-hour drive! The beautiful lakes and the trails are second to none. Can't wait for next August!

Beautiful area! Fun for the whole family! Great for atvs but also mountain bikes, and relaxing for those who aren't able to do either! Went fishing and enjoyed the views

Love this spot. We come here every year. Great camp site for a medium sized group.

We had a ton of fun. We saw tons of deer, paddle boarded on the lake, hiked, and had an overall great time. The only complaint was that there was no outhouse nearby. We literally had to drive to the outhouse.
@MarkG462 · Camped on Aug 2, 2021 at Campsite #13
The location was idyllic. The site is beautifully forested and there is great separation from other campers for serenity and privacy. There were 2 factors that took this from a 5 star to a 3 star review. We were there 2 nights and each night night at 4am we were jarred awake by extremely loud tree cutting equipment. It appears they were removing dead trees from the forest but starting at 4am when it is pitch black out seems extreme when you are surrounded by campgrounds. The cutting continued all day until 4 pm. The second issue was no campfires allowed despite having received torrential rainfall before our arrival and it was even raining during our stay. I feel the forest service could update their campfire policy with greater granularity based on current conditions. We sat in the cool damp evening with nothing to warm us so just retired to our tent early only to be startled awake at 4 am. I know these were both temporary conditions so I would not hesitate going there again. It was just that they were both avoidable.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
