I stayed at site 17, I choose this because it was In the middle of the loop and we had a small group come up with us.We took our 22 travel trailer. The loops are not groomed at all, just after site 16 loop 1 there is a manzanita tree that leans into the loop at about 9 foot, and the exit through loop 1 destroyed my awning. I would not recommend taking an RV up.I made the site work with my truck and trailer, but it was costly.I was not familiar with the area, but based on sizing and restrictions noted I assumed it would be fine. Dont do it.Otherwise the campgrounds are quiet.We never saw the host, when we came in late PM, there was a grill fire at the hosts site but they didnt greet us.Some of our group took truck campers, they enjoyed it so, in overall my experience is 2.5/5. 0/5 for access. It should be noted not to bring any RVs larger than 14-16 feet. Or loop road should be trimmed back.

Lovely, dry (bring your own water) campground with spacious sites and a very friendly, helpful host. Be sure to walk over to the west edge of the campground to watch the sunset and the amazing views of the Santa Ynez Valley.

This is a great quiet little campground. There are fun hiking trails in walking distance. There Is a great little lookout to watch the sunset near site 14.

My party stayed at site 23. Luckily for us the cold weather kept the bugs away. Site 23 was very spacious and flat. It was far from the dumpsters but accessible enough to all the restrooms that we were able to use the ones towards the less occupied side of the campground. In terms of the area. Mt. Figueroa Lookout is a nice 5 mi round trip that makes you work on the hill but rewards you with a great sunset or sunrise view.Not sure which site it is, but the one at https://goo.gl/maps/QKUFH4QFU91pJ7Mo8 is small but has access to a big clearing to its southwest. Quality wise, the site was very clean and restrooms very clean and useable as well.

Let me start with the good, because I do not want my poor review to reflect too badly on the excellent work recreation team: the site was very well maintained, a good firepit with ash in the bottom, the tables were solid and even had wheelchair accessibility, which is a a rare plus. There were some burrowing holes around, but no more than is typical for a camping site so it was not a bother and the staff was professional and kind. The problem was twofold, first the bugs. They were constant and impossible to escape, and combined with the heat when I went, it made for a somewhat difficult experience. Second, the bathrooms, while clean and maintained properly, are placed kind of weirdly, and resulted in a lot of people waling through and around our campsite, which was only a minor nuisance at best.

Great little campground with few people and lots of scenic trails looking out on the Callies and ocean. The drive up with a trailer was a bit tough as it is very steep and windy, but worth it. Almost all the sites are off level so bring lots of stabilizing blocks if in RV the town of Los Olivos on the way in has great restaurants and wine tasting

Very well- maintained campground! Bathrooms were very clean (and had a good supply of stocked toilet paper)! The camp host, Amber, was friendly, helpful, and highly knowledgeable about the area. Hiking trails were close by and the weather was cool, but expect it to be very hot in the summer with minimal shade. Some trails are washed out/overgrown in areas but passable. Some biting flies were present, but expect that to increase as it gets warmer. No rattlesnake presence when I went but expect that to also increase with the change in weather. Bring lots of your own water. Overall, a great experience!

Really great spot! A little noisy neighbors but the camp host was for the most part regulating the noise/quiet hours.

Very lush campground on the top of a remote mountain. The road into the park is narrow at times and winding but but fairly well maintained. Camp host, Amber, is very nice and helpful.

Amazing views and amazing campground. Me and ny wife went up to Mt. Fig to get married in the beautiful Santa Ynez mountains and we made the perfect choice of campgrounds for it. Theres no water so you have to bring your own, and the nights get very cold, but if you plan and pack right you're for a magical time. Camp host was amazing and the campground was incredibly maintained.

We visited in late April. The campground wasn’t super busy, bathrooms were very clean, and the person running the camp was really nice. Gorgeous trees, lots of birds and flowers!

surprisingly beautiful views close to camp, clean bathrooms!

Everything was in good working order, and the bathroom was better than expected. It was fun to be up on a mountain but so close to town. We had a great breakfast on Sunday at Breekies in Solvang. We look forward to coming back to camp there again.
@Alexandra36004 · Camped on Nov 4, 2022 at Campsite #26
Everything was amazing. Only reason I gave 4 not 5 was because of the amount of flies at the campsite. I would go back!!

Very remote, quiet and clean. Beautiful view of the stars/milky way at night.

The campsite surroundings are beautiful, but our site was covered in trash and the flies were suffocating. Even though we’re seasoned campers, we left a day early because we couldn’t take the flies and gnats. There were also about 15 persistent yellow jackets that kept swarming our water, food and dog. Would definitely not recommend, at least during the summer.
@DavidB5075483 · Camped on Jul 22, 2022 at Campsite #21
Everything was great except locked bathrooms were a problem. Apparently some of the doors lock themselves sometimes? Would be nice to have this fixed as we sometimes had to walk clear across the campground to find an open restroom.
@MalynO1751844 · Camped on Jun 10, 2022 at Campsite #23
My biggest complaint is the amount of flies and bugs that are there. Other than that it’s an great campsite and very quiet.
@JasonK9381533 · Camped on May 16, 2022 at Campsite #16
Beautiful campground, well kept and pit bathrooms are excellent!! Many hiking opportunities although most not super close to campgrounds. The winds can be strong at night so securing your tent is advisable.

Nice layup and pretty location. Hot in the summer months. Bring plenty of water. Best vault toilets I’ve ever smelled.

Drove up Figueroa Mountain Road looking for any signage pointing the way to the campgrounds. Just passed the fire station my GPS said I was there but again no signage. Drove up about 2 1/2 miles further as the daylight was fading. Decided to just camp by the side of the road and figure it out the next day. Unfortunately, the shoulder was soft and I got stuck and was unable to arrange a tow for 2 1/2 days because two operators didn’t wanna make the drive Given that GPS works poorly there please please please get some signage to help people find their way. Thanks.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
