I have rented several Forestry Service cabins in the past and Case-Morgan Homestead was by far the nicest. Luxuriously nice by comparison. On top of all the amenities and how well it has been maintained, fishing in Rock Creek is just a short hike away so this was a great stay. Thanks to all who took the time and effort to restore and maintain this cabin. It's a great one!

Always a wonderful stay! Cabin was clean, cozy, and well stocked with firewood and cooking necessities. Highly recommend the nearby hiking up Hogback or Sandstonethough ticks were again prevalent up Hogback in mid-March.

This homestead was great. Very well appointed. While I was there I read a book about Annie and Jocko, which added so much to the experience. I wish we had stayed longer, but hope to come back soon. My husband, Jack Morrison, had spent time there as a teenager with the Puyear grandsons, so it was a great for him to get a chance to reminisce. Thanks for the experience.Mary Anne Antonioli - Butte

Very upscale FS cabin. Almost like visiting someone's home, especially nice during the off season when traffic is light or non-existent.

I am so disappointed in this reservation I cant even describe to what levels. My reservation confirmation and reminders all listed site amenities and then had a link for more information. That link never worked!! And of course it probably contains really really important info like no running water, no bedding, etc. Unfortunately, it was up the worst road Ive ever driven on, it is 30 miles into the middle of nowhere. I have NEVER had an experience like this on your site. So NOT worth $75/night.

it was nice and clean. had a few small mammals running around at night. par for the course i suppose. water pump out back was out but grabbed some water at nearby usfs ranger station. nice amenity provided by usfs

Bring plenty of water for drinking and cleaning. Be very aware of ticks in the springtime.

Loved the cabin. It is so loved and well taken care of. The fishing is great, view is great and breathing the fresh air.

This is my 4th time renting the cabin in early spring. A favorite time of year and given the unsettled weather the cabin is the best way to enjoy it.

Cabin is in great shape. Got water from the stream across the road. We did have to walk in ~1/2 mile as the road wasn't plowed and there was a tree across the road. We had sleds so we were ready to do it but it was the first time in many years we couldn't drive right in.

For someone who enjoys Montana history and fly fishing the state's great rivers, the Morgan-Case Homestead is the perfect place. A short walk takes you to a long and lovely stretch of Rock Creek that always produces fish. The Homestead is comfortable, roomy and filled with character -- and having electricity is a huge bonus! The surroundings are beautiful and quiet, which makes it a wonderful destination for tuning out the world, relaxing and, of course, fly fishing!

Found the cabin very clean, and left it as clean or cleaner than we found it. Amenities were as advertised. Historic ranch cabin in a charming location on Rock Creek. Sandstone and Wyman Gulch trailheads nearby. Beautiful views of the valley in which the cabin sits along Sandstone Trail.
