Merrill Campground, Susanville, CA

Merrill Campground is located in the Eagle Lake Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest (2 hrs 35 min northeast of Chico, CA) with an elevation of 5,139 feet. There are a total of 168 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the end of October. 167 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 178 feet. All sites are currently reservable. 116 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $32.00 to $77.00.

What a beautiful campground! Lots of room between us and our neighbors, beautiful trees all around and great shade. The paved bike trail makes for a beautiful 5 mile, round trip, ride to the marina. The showers at the marina are very clean. Buy tokens at the marina store $2.50 each, which gives you a 5 minute shower. We have Verizon and had very good service. Stan and Sue are very friendly and informative camp hosts!We will definitely come back!

Wonderful campground. We felt warmly welcomed by the camp hosts. The sites are spaced well with drinkable water spigots every few sites. Bathrooms were very clean. The lake is a little walk from the campsite. Chairs are a good idea. We hope to stay here again in the future.

The campground is nice. Easy to get into with a trailer. They definitely need more spaces with sewer. There is a dump station across the highway, but the price of it isn't included with your camp space.

The Campground is well kept. Bathroom is very clean. Camp Hosts are very friendly and they go around to check in with campers. Campsites are big. Where we were has a nice lake view. We enjoyed our 3 nights and well definitely come back again.

Site 103 boasts full shade in its details. This is absolutely not true. We specifically chose this site for that reason as one of our campers has a sun sensitivity but from 11am until 4pm there is no shade at all. Bathrooms are decent, a little bug ridden but its a campground. Campground itself is a really nice peaceful place, better when the kiddos are back in school though *wink*.

It was our first time there and we had a wonderful time. We had a site with the view of the lake. The camp hosts were were very nice and friendly. Its a beautiful campground with clean bathrooms. We will be back next year.

Campground is lovely and i have no complaints about that. The issue is that we pay for electric, water and deer but the electric is so bad we can't run our AC or electric waterheater..with 100 amps coming in your definitely ruin your AC. Something needs to get done about this issue..yes it was hot, about 95 degrees but with more bigger RV's in here they have to address it.

Great campground, great location. I liked the friendliness and proactiveness of the campground hosts/staff. I was pleased with the other campers following the general rules, but this is more a reflection of those individuals, not the USFS or their vendors. I guess my only complaint would be people who bring their dogs and do not control the barking - thank you for sharing your undisciplined dog with the other 200 of us!

I have camping over several years at the campground out various campsites. Facilities have alway been accessible, clean and well maintained. Staff have always been helpful and courteous. I have bicycled the trails from one end to the other many times as well as kayaked most every day. I look forward to next year
