Every Veterans Day for the last 4 years myself and some fellow veterans have stayed at Beaver Dam Campground and we love it. Big tall Pines, nice level campsites, clean grounds, a couple nice trails, beautiful lakes to fish in, and friendly camp hosts have made it a great place to stay. My only complaint would be the bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms are clean and serviceable but are outdated and in severe need of renovation. Since the current campground host Mike took over they have improved in cleanliness and serviceability. However, one BIG problem is that the locks on the doors are totally unserviceable or missing. For example, one of the showers closest to campsite 13 has no lock at all, so good luck on not being walked in on. The men's bathroom near the same campsite has a simple bolt latch where one has to lift up on the door to make it work. If you can get it to lock the door frame is so loose that it can be pushed in. The showers are standalone unisex units separate from the bathrooms. I'm not sure how the locks are in the women's bathrooms (I am a male) or the other showers in the campgrounds as I did not visit them all. However, since we are tent campers, my wife will not camp with me here because of the bathrooms and I'm unhappy bout that as this campground is a hidden gem. Finally, if you are an RV camper and have a bathroom and shower in your unit, definitely visit the piney hills of north Louisiana and find respite at Beaver Dam Campground.

Great park, large sites that are shaded. The only negative thing is the condition of the roads in the park. I will stay there again and enjoy the lake and quiet that is here.

Very secluded location, which isnt a good thing. Some phone, no internet, no over the air tv. Roads into campground sites are narrow and could use some patching. Restrooms and showers are very outdated, but useable. IMO, they need replaced with newer facilities. Not sure we would stay at this COE campground again.

we loved the trails for hiking and the convenience of garbage cans spread throughout the park for easy access to dispose of the garbage.

Beavers Dam Campground has several excellent campsites BUT the most disgusting bathrooms and shower facilities of any Federal Park I have stayed. The first rest rooms in the park, the men's commode leaks sewer water from the back wall and the sewer water runs to a drain in front of the commode. You step in the sewer water and your clothing, if not careful, will get wet with the sewer water. This is a major Health Concern but the daily check sheet, shows an employee checks this restroom daily but this Sewer leak you step in has been leaking for ever. PLEASE repair this health hazard. The showers are almost as bad. Between the strange growths on the walls and floor, the showers need a ceiling to floor cleaning and a coating of shower paint. NASTY.I usually use the campground facilities but this time I used my RV facilities.Great Campground but get the Bathrooms to public health standards.Campground Host is very friendly and probably has no control over the repair of the problems with this FEDERAL Campground

Clean, shaded, level. Pretty. Showers and restrooms were clean, but dated. Paint would pull it all together. But as rustic as it was the host does a great job on neatness and cleanliness. Hes kind attentive and funny. Place was great.

Site 19 looks good but you cant back into it with a 5th wheel the forces on each side prevent actual parking. The park road is 9 wide at best. We had to park in an empty open spot. The desert dump staton was blocked or full when we dumped the tank it just ran over the ground. We were charged extra and the discount was rendered none. Wont be back until things change and someone audits the books.

This was our 3rd stay at Beaver Dam. The sites are large and private. Wifi has improved. Its easy to get to and pretty.

Beautiful park and gem of a campsite. The sites around us were empty so we had a 180 degree view of the lake. Site and grounds were very clean.

This place was nice! The handicap part on the app confused us but you can still reserve the campsite even if you aren't disabled. There was no check in spot that we saw but very quiet place

Large site, beautiful views of the lake. Roads were good, as was the cell service. The extra fees, electrical and reservation, were not appreciated.

We had a nice lake view nicely spaced out between sites. The one bathroom that we used was disgusting. Filthy with spider webs everywhere. I never once saw a camp host during our 3 day visit.
@TiffanyW827725 · Camped on May 10, 2024 at Campsite #15
We love the campground it is always nice and peaceful. However, the trash left in the firepit was sad. The previous campers left beer cans and solo cups in the firepit. That is never going to burn. I feel if the person on duty is going around checking in people they should be inspecting and cleaning up the site areas after people leave. Also, the bathrooms REALLY need some help. I know it's outdoors but a little time and regular attention could go along way for keeping the bathrooms clean, fresh and supplied and remove the spider web collection and do a little prevention. Make sure toilets and showers work properly too at least once a month do a good work over. That's my opinion anyway. It would go a LONG way in making this an epic campground.

Nice campground. Extremely rude camp host. On the fourth or fifth day of our stay I was approached by three dogs while out walking my dog. The camp host said what do you want me to do about it, so I called the ranger station and they sent someone out. Unfriendly and unhelpful during every encounter we had.

@CharlesL794562 · Camped on Apr 7, 2024 at Campsite #4
Shower house and restrooms were deplorable. I would wash in the lake before stepping into those showers. Layers of insects covered the facilities. The host doesn't sell firewood. What kind of host tells you to scavenge for wood because they don't sell bundles?ow hanging branches when wet beat against our 11'-6" high m/h repeatedly. Nice area, nice sites, didn't explore much due to rain.

Surprise find traveling through area. Quiet and peaceful, site was great. Roads with park could use some work, parts were very narrow.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
