Coeur Dalene Campground, Melvern, KS

Coeur Dalene Campground in Osage county is located 45 min south of Topeka, KS with an elevation of 1,103 feet. There are a total of 60 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to the end of September. 55 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 100 feet. All sites are currently reservable. 20 sites have electric and water hookups. 15 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $14.00 to $28.00.

This is a great location. We use it for a cookout for a pretty large group. There's playground equipment for the kids, lots of shade and nice bathrooms. It is not on the water, which works well for a picnic. No issues with accessibility for the seniors in our group.It has a nice grill as well.

We enjoyed our stay here. Easy in and out and our site (52) had plenty of room with a great view of the lake. Our site was level and the campground in general, was well maintained.

When we arrived the office was closed - and thats ok; our reservation was attached to the electrical box The entire campground was neat and tidy. Flush uni-sex restroom clean. Fabulous view. Easy off I-35 access. We went through the town of Malvern to get here - and our advice is bring what ya need cause theres nothing to speak of in Melvern. We drove across the dam to the north side of the lake to Eisenhower State Park - where I stood on Omaha Beach! We not only would do another one-night stop-over at Coeur dAlene ACE campground again, wed like to come back for a longer stay. This campground is very close to a very busy rail line - it didnt bother us, but for those it might you might want to stay at one of the other area campgrounds farther from the line.

Nice and quiet for a weekend getaway! Shallow beach area great for kids but questionable for getting a ski boat close to the bank. All and all great spot for the family!

Only issue was there’s train tracks about 1/2 south. So if you’re staying in a tent and there’s any breeze out of the south you can hear them rumbling and horn blowing all night. It’s a very busy track. Should be fine in a camper

Camp hosts are very friendly and the TV reception is great. We camp in this area regularly, but being on top of a hill, we received 97 channels! :) The Corps of Engineers provides life jackets at the boat ramps and swimming beach free of charge.

May 5th thru May 7th Awesome weather, clear skies and perfect temps the whole weekend. Meet lots of friendly folks, campsite 24, near the water very Picturesque. Basic camping is the way to go, but gotta have my air mattress! The trails were a great walk and refreshing. The facilities were clean and stocked, showers were nice and hot! Going back in June.
